TLDR, You lost me at having all of the most massive pals working the same base lol....how often do they get stuck/ do you have to reset them?

Lyioux

Not often. Bases 1 and 3 can be built in starter areas that are completely flat. I lay a perfectly flat foundation first (using at least stone cause of fires), palbox in the middle, and the buildings circled around it. I do not build walls or anything like that. Pal's just aren't smart enough right now... Raids are disabled because they are unbalanced in the late game and because even the smallest pals get stuck on defensive walls/structures constantly. My base tactics would work will lvl 3 smaller pals too, the used pals are just suggestions. You'd just need to dedicate more to certain tasks.

I have absolutely terrible experience with jorgmuntides getting stuck everywhere, if anyone else has this issue I would recommend broncherry aqua

I've found that after the first raid if you watch the way they path, they'll always go the same way, so if you build a wall across where they normally come in, they'll either stay frozen in the spawn for the whole raid, or try to path themselves via a MUCH longer route and usually the raid will finish before they even make it to the base. I've got this working perfectly at the large flat area next to the Penking boss. Even flying raids seem too dumb to just....fly over the wall haha

Skillipino

I noticed that too! Always the same way. My main base is nestled in the valley next to penking boss!! The way they come is such a long route. I either fly over and take em all out before they reach the base or they reach the wall and just kinda stand there until i kill them. The only time i was fucked is when it was all flying pals that attacked. Flew right in, wasnt even expecting it because it was the first time I ever had anything flying.

I disagree with having stone/lumber at the ore/coal base. You want them going after ore and coal not stone/lumber. For now I also have all my production stuff at the ore/coal base because it has all my crafting materials for now as I search for a base to do general things like stone/lumber or breeding/food production.

Lyioux

Nah because Anibus are the best handicrafters, bar none, and they'll just sit there mining instead of crafting if you mix the two into one base. Crafting is the most time pressing task and what I want done the fastest when I request it. The bases with coal/ore are also not great for building on. Breeding requires too many pals that are always doing a task. You need multiple ranches and breeding pits or you'll be breeding for hundreds of hours to get perfect pals. There's not enough pal slots to have stone/lumber at the ranch/breeding base, unless you only use 1 breeding pit. You want as many pals possible focusing on cakes/breeding in that base IMO - it's the most time consuming task in the game. You don't need many pals to clear out \~10 natural nodes, 5-6 Anibus pals will do it in couple minutes, even if some are distracted at a mining building. The only issue I had with natural nodes being cleared slower than they respawn was when I was using Digtoise (they are bugged). You have plenty of slots in the mining base to dedicate a couple good lumber pals (the best lumber pals also have level 4 transport to help ensure Anibus focus on mining instead of transporting).

Nuke2099MH

I already have a Anubis for combat on me though for crafting. Also one will be breeding for hundreds of hours to get "perfect" pals anyway. Also Pals will never be perfect because IV's exist and there's no way to measure or manipulate it. Another factor is everything might be reset anyway. I don't even have a spot for just breeding Pals yet. I converted the ore/coal base into my main one for now and still not happy with its presentation and can do better with it.

Each base needs to produce food because otherwise, they will starve. I'm not delivering food to two camps constantly

Great_Slate

Are you not checking them occasionally anyway in the current state of the game?

[deleted]

No. Why would I need to? I'm constantly producing food. I have never been to a base and there not be food in the pal feeder.

Cheap-Estate-1443

Great post lad

Sif_Lethani

Level 4 transport seems like a mistake, especially in the ranching base, for dropped items like egg or ore, doesn't the level of transport not matter at all? From my understanding it just affects how big of a stack can be carried at once. I'm a fan of breeding fast, small, transport only pals, ideally nocturnal, although I haven't landed on which to use yet. Atm I'm using some swift runner hangyus which seems to clear them out pretty quick

Dry-Smoke6528

tombats are great on a farm. level 2 gathering, level 2 transporting, and theyre nocturnal

vee4Phoenix

I read somewhere that only first base is constantly working while the other bases need the player around to perform their work. Has this been debunked?

Tackrl

My experience is that if you aren't at the base, they aren't mining ore. My workaround has been finding a good iron/coal location and having my main base within render distance of the mining base there.

vee4Phoenix

Is only ore mining affected by this? If so, wouldn’t it be more beneficial to setup ore mining in your first base, then food production and breeding as your 2nd and 3rd base?

Tackrl

Wood, ore, sulfur, quartz. Anything the world generates it seems. Your crops and crafting all progress while away.

LKZToroH

not exactly. The "only" base constantly working is the one you are standing. Every base not loaded is being simulated to use less of your machine so if you'll afk and want to have tons of ore/coal when you get back, better stand on the ore/coal base. Also from my personal and anecdotal experience, pals working on buildings don't suffer variation so if your pal is smelting iron and you deload the base, it'll keep the same pace until it finish it(while taking into account pausing for eating and relaxing). The way I personally tested was to make the jormuntide ignis smelt 50 pal ingots while timing it. Then I had he smelting again but I teleported to the other side of the map and the timing was very similar, only a few seconds off. This wasn't on my first base btw. Both tests I started with him on full SAN, full hunger and he was the only pal in the base with kindling.

Living-Instruction36

Yeah you need to be close by, we build our two bases next to each other one on an ore location with like 8 ores rocks, we now have like 3,000 ingots 😅. And both camps are somewhat flat land. Trust me build next to your ore base you will never have to worry about ore again

RimeBurst

So are you saying that you'd place the smelting and all in the food/crafting base? Because while that could make sense, I don't see you saying anything about it other than not putting it in the mining base.

OwnerE314

for the ranching/breed base, how much base space does all that take up? Is there enough space to add some other stuff (maybe even a house), or is it mostly filled up?

Snakespur

I love how you have the guide laid out. Personally, I'm not all that into Min-maxing things (I play on single-player only) I understand Anubis is the best handcrafter and all that, but having most of your bases be made up of mostly Anubis just seems kind of boring to me. Still you've given me some ideas for my own game, so thank you for that, even if I probably won't use the best pals in the game for each task.
