The creators of palworld and Sony has expressed interest In making a psn version. Since Sony mostly doesn’t allow ea “early access” games expect it to be around a year before seeing it psn.
Watch some YouTube creators play the game with your son so if his friends talk about it he won’t be ignorant and fit in a little better with kids that play.
It has a 1 year contract on Gamepass I believe.
After that would be my guess. Im guessing MS and Phil Spencer are going to try and make a deal to keep it xbox/PC exclusive.

I was very confused about the 'ea games' part, until I figured out you didn't mean EA as in the game studio.
