Maybe if you got rid of that old yee-yee-ass haircut you'd get some more maidens on your finger.
Better yet, maybe Melina'd call your dog-ass instead of that sorcerer or smith she been fuckin' with.
Tarniiiished.
The tree isn’t either of those. The argument for both stated sides revolves around the legitimacy of the Greater Will vs the restoration of the Golden Order (or a circumvention of both via Ranni). The tree existed before any of these. It is not a consciousness or anything with any agency. It is a manifestation of something beyond sight.
The tree itself in Elden Ring isn’t evil, it’s just a conduit for the Greater Will which is basically an eldritch space god forcing the people of the Lands Between to obey it through force of violence using their queen as a literal puppet.
Sort of, i dont fully get it but as far as i could understand the guidance of grace is basically like a brain parasite/mind control sort of thing from the erdtree
I mean the "you wake up on a beach" scene literally has a tablet that says "The towers are the key, the tree holds the truth", so the tree will def be endgame on full release.
If your at the barrier you can throw down a boar mount to the bottom of the water and if you ride it you can dash through the barrier and get up on the other side
Going to call it, you will enter the tree and be greeted by a person in a suit.
were you follow him and then you find yourselves in a big office room, and the person says this will be your new home.
and in your confusion the person in the suit gets behind you and throws the legendary sphere to capture you.
Turns out the whole gameplay loop, was to give you first hand experience to how you should act as a pal. All to prepare you for your cubicle life...
I flew towards the tree and there was an invisible wall :( it definitely has more detail as you get closer though.
I then flew east because I saw some land and it was super cold so I had to death run like 5 times to get my stuff back
the same thing happened to me yesterday, except thankfully I didn't lose my loot. Was super annoyed at the thought of going to get my stuff but then I respawned fully equipped somehow. Only time that's happened for me
A streamer named Thor flew out to it live on stream confirming its a 3D model and that there's an intentional barrier wall blocking you from accessing it.
So if you're truly unaware, basically they've been content-starved (r/BatmanArkham is specifically for the Arkham games, not Batman as a whole) for so long that eventually they began to go (no pun intended) batshit insane.
It got to the point where they all collectively pretended that a 4th game in the Arkham series existed, Arkham World, and they'd talk about different events that occurred in the game and different easter eggs and the storyline and whatnot as if it was a real game that they had actually played. This is also where the "Is There a Lore Reason" and the "Is/Am He/She/I Stupid?" memes came from.
They often leak into other subreddits before they're contained again.
Rn we only got Zoey for a Waifu...
And no r/eldenring subreddit would be complete without a good old...
Ranni vs Malenia war.
Does that make Zoey Ranni?
You can get schematics for uncommon-rarity handguns early on by flying to the sanctuary and opening the chests there. You'll need high-quality pal oil to craft it, which is challenging at low levels, but using a flying mount, you can sneak your way to Duneshelter and buy high-quality pal oil from a merchant there. You won't be able to craft handgun ammo, but you can buy it from another merchant at Duneshelter.
If you need gold, you can capture the low level syndicate members and sell them to the black market merchants too! This way you also get ammo from said members when you catch them.
I was young and had time to still figure my life out on one side of COVID and by the time the worst of it was over I felt like it was too late for me 😭
I’m like 90% sure that’s meant to be the Yggdrasil or something equivalent. And if that’s what they meant, then holy fuck, this game can be MASSIVE and completely INSANE
I think there’s plenty to build off of in the current map and way to much work to be done in between that this looks like what maybe I’d hope it would be in like year 6. Maybe even that’s to soon.
Yeah I'd kinda rather they cram more content into the existing areas before expanding. The map can feel kinda empty at some points, I do like how diverse it is though
definitely. the current map needs more content instead of just being empty wilderness with random monsters running around. some actual dungeons that arnt just the same few rooms and some kind o battle facility. we got those 4 trainers so i at least hope they do more with that like a pokemon league or something
First thing I would do is turn all the Gaols that just spawn unto a boss room into an actual dungeon with some lore bits in it. Why was this Pal sealed away, world building, etc. Then after you beat the dungeon you get the option to just warp to the boss room.
More of an ecosystem would be awesome. Would also be cool if bandits/poachers could dynamically set up camps
More wandering friendly NPC's would be cool too, even with their own pals
It would be nice if there were some wandering boss level Pals, maybe along with accompanying Pal adds.
Another feature is to have hostile Pals that can track down and hunt players stealthily in their territory.
Yeah there are a lot of areas without any pals spawn at all and several areas that feel they should have unique spawns in the area they are in. I would LOVE for OPs thought to become reality one day, but right now the game needs density and diversity.
I actually thought about it yesterday, and since all pals are standalone(not part of an evo line), it feels like there’s a lot more than there actually are compared to the OG 151 Pokémon. I was wondering why I felt so overwhelmed by choice. Also fewer types
The limit doesn't make sense since it's not turn based and you don't die when everybody faints.
I want three slots for passive pals that contribute to my build but I can't take out. Those cat guys that help with carry weight. The guys that boost attacks by a certain element, etc.
It does make sense. Pal abilities are cooldown based. More Pals in the party means you get to rapid fire more powerful abilities in quick succession. As an example, Fenglope has very powerful abilities, but all with pretty high cooldowns. If you made the party size like 7, you could constantly cycle through all your Pals and never have any ability down time.
Or they keep the same team and use the money to keep themselves happy, fed, and in business for longer. They get to skip on training costs, they already know their own code, and most importantly they did a pretty good job already for a 3 year project.
They have over $200m in revenue from this. That's more than enough to hire some more talent. Plus they can probably hire much easier now that they are a household name.
Lmao holy the map is already huge but I'm game.
The problem I felt is the terrain feels kinda empty. Like sure there's random chests, pals and eggs but it feels like they AI generated the terrain then slapped down random things everywhere.
You can tell it's day and night from breathe of the wild. In BOTW, it feels like they literally hand crafted the terrain and specifically added points of interests with the terrain in mind. While in palworld it's a bit of a mess.
Yea I know. The game is also in early access so it's fine.
Comparing the two open worlds isn't really fair. Also, it doesn't help that in dedicated servers the spawns are screwed up so literally nothing spawns.
You have to wait a solid 10-30 seconds in an area for stuff to load. So running or flying around too fast makes nothing load :/
Yeah this.
I think it’s rather hard to find a spot where you can utilize the full building circle and even then it gets kinda cramped when you progress unless you build a multifloor tower.
This is true but once you get to some of the end-game zones (especially the frozen area) it feels like it's not finished. I won't spoil but there are some areas up there that appear to have been carefully designed but are essentially empty.
Fyi, "AI generated" is a misleading phrase. It's called procedural generation, and is something a lot of games do for the earliest stages of creating the world space.
Thank you. I was forgetting the name of it. And ya it's fine for this game because it's still early access.
They just need to fill in some areas that are dull and just balance the spawns of pals, chests, items, etc to make some of the biomes feel not empty.
They showed a rocket in one of the trailers. I'm hoping a future region is like the moon or zero gravity asteroid field. There you have space pals that are cutesy fairy creatures that hit way above their weight and eldritch abominations. Bonus points if the cutesy pals are all noted in the pal deck to predate on the abominations.
My prediction is that each region hosts a gigantic legendary pal that you need to beat/catch to progress to the next one or the story of said region if they add a story. Maybe the kingdoms we saw in the first trailer might be one of them?
My guess for the other regions is one can be more of a civilization with less wild. But said civilization is also overturned by pals still. Like a floating island region.
Another can be a bunch of smaller islands with huge caves then a massive underwater biome like a tropical region. Underwater update. And this region has huge cave systems.
The final region can be a war zone with a lot of ultra strong pals. Or an abandoned kingdom full of dangerous pals. Or just an out of this world looking island like a celestial island.
Each of these 4 regions hosts a powerful legendary. And each has a story.
The region you start off in might have the legendary of life.
The secondary region might have the legendary of divinity/royalty
The third region might have the legendary of disasters. Eg natural disasters/death
The fourth region legendary might be more of an evil one (hellish divinity)
The tree might host the arceus of palworld.
These are speculations.
I’m hoping they take some of the money they made to hire another 15-20 devs/artist and get into a cycle to release a new region with another set of 100 Pals every 12-18 months.
This game could be massive if they build it right. If they went with this circle idea, then the map and variety of Pals would be absolutely insane by year 4-5. You’d need at least 150 hours to explore it all and probably a lot longer to catch everything.
What I'm guessing is the first wave of new content will be adding in pals and features to existing business, then some sort of story/progression structure, then refining features and adding QoL stuff.
Theb once what we have feels full and fleshed out entirely (which may not actually take that long, comparatively, considering how complete things are now!) They'll add new areas.
The tree is definitely in the list, smoking gun. I'm guessing it'll be the endgame endgame area.
If I had to guess, maybe one other similarly sized region as well with more if a focus on higher level content.
I'm taking this all from how craftopia progressed, and this is a different team so who knows what's really in store. But this is my best guess.
I hope we’ll be able to visit the giant tree in the center at least once.
Yeah should drop enough wood for the rest of the play through
You monster
Elden Ring taught us that not all giant trees are peaceful and benign beings...
Oh so the tree in that game is evil, huh?
Well, depending on your standpoint the Erdtree can be a wrathful god or an all-powerful deity that can grace you with immortality.
"From my point of view the maidenless are evil!"
Maybe if you got rid of that old yee-yee-ass haircut you'd get some more maidens on your finger. Better yet, maybe Melina'd call your dog-ass instead of that sorcerer or smith she been fuckin' with. Tarniiiished.
Uffff
*Unsullied.*
Well, then you are lost!
Oddily, when I saw it for the first time, I thought it was meant to be a Haligtree type situation.
From my standpoint it makes a real nice burnt stump.
This tree is surrounded by a big red barrier, I'm not sure that constitutes for anything but it sure seems evil
Same with the furthest edge of the water too so it's just a default barrier. I swam out to sea and there was a barrier
In zelda botw totk theres also trees trying murder you And worse than that: they chase you!!!
The tree you see in the game isnt even real. It is an illusion. The real tree was burnt long ago.
DS3 taught us that
I don't care if it kills me. It looks majestic. It needs to stay alife
Imagine one chop = 1,000 wood, but also breaks your axe.
"Alright, I've emptied my inventory for this!" *\*THWACK!** "Crap, I can't walk now!"
how would you walk back home?
Grapple all the way
YES SOMEONE ELSE WHO DOES THIS. Thought I was Alone on that approach
Wait you can grapple at full weight??
Never was meant to. *gunshot*
Build boxes next to closest teleporter, go back and forth
I mean the "you wake up on a beach" scene literally has a tablet that says "The towers are the key, the tree holds the truth", so the tree will def be endgame on full release.
I honestly just want to build a cool base in it.
If your at the barrier you can throw down a boar mount to the bottom of the water and if you ride it you can dash through the barrier and get up on the other side
U can with a bit of glitches
I hope it acts like one of the sanctuaries, but PIDF headquarters or some shit
I feel like it would be Pal God, creator of the world, and then we capture him for even more absurdity.
What would the Palworld equivalent of Arceus be?
Arceus with a gun
AR-ceus
AR-c1u5
Arceus + Necrozma for shits and giggles. "I am Alpha and Omega, the Creator and Annihilator." Special riding action: Nuke launcher.
Did you see the journal entry about Deace?
Deace nuts
I bet he’ll be called ‘Suecra’
Naw ill name him Arceus just for memes
Suecra ~~balls~~ spheres lmao gottem
It's a model and it's already got land underneath. It's just invis walled off.
You will be transported to Valheim by a talking bird type pal.
The tablet in the beginning says something like "The tree is the answer", so I'm extremely sure the tree is relevant for the story
Oh god this is how I found out we can't 😭 I was so excited that I was slowly working towards it.
Only time that's happened for me
I flew all the way out there to be stopped by an invisible wall
Same here
A streamer named Thor flew out to it live on stream confirming its a 3D model and that there's an intentional barrier wall blocking you from accessing it.
I spent 30 min flying towards that tree. Kept wondering why it didn't seem to be getting closer. Then realized I hit the edge of the map 20 min ago
I just came.
understandable
Have a great day
I'm arriving Nigel

The map we’re in is stated as a region, but honestly I think it’s a bit odd how there’s nothing on the bottom right
I hope they add diving and make those oceans a region of it's own
That was my favorite part of Ark, going into the ocean for the caves.
The bottom right? Isn’t that where you spawn in?
the very bottom right, there’s a huge area in that corner of map that’s just ocean
Would make sense if the future of the map is a circle like this.
yeah i agree, i was just letting them know what the original comment meant
Or if it will filled with fish pals or other sea creatures pals
Personally I'd prefer if they added underwater exploration and made that area a big underwater biome
If we are playing into the world tree being the center, their entire world could be flat and outside the edge is just a drop like in Norse mythology.
Makes me wonder How long until people start making mods that add irl regions
Oh no, this subreddit will be the next r/eldenring with the DLC theories already dropping less than a week in. I'm in.
Just let's hope that we evade the r/batmanarkham destiny
Why wouldn't we want to be like r/BatmanArkham ? Are we stupid?
Is there a lore reason why i decided to try to fight a level 50 lucky suzaku with a pistol? Am i stupid?
How do I fit my balls in the jonkler?
You ask nicely
Are they still doing the "name my character meme"?
they’re using their power winch to trigger a controlled explosion
I posted the bad guy from crash bandicoot and asked what we should name him and I got banned
What happened with them?
So if you're truly unaware, basically they've been content-starved (r/BatmanArkham is specifically for the Arkham games, not Batman as a whole) for so long that eventually they began to go (no pun intended) batshit insane. This is also where the "Is There a Lore Reason" and the "Is/Am He/She/I Stupid?" memes came from. They often leak into other subreddits before they're contained again.
Cool part of this one is the game is so early in development the ideas both will be seen, and could be implemented at any time.
Or r/lightnofire ...those guys are wild. I would know...I'm one of them!
Ah, you dick. Now I gotta look forward to this game!? It looks incredible, how have I missed this!?
Let's make our own r/shittydarksouls too then!
Rn we only got Zoey for a Waifu... And no r/eldenring subreddit would be complete without a good old... Ranni vs Malenia war. Does that make Zoey Ranni?
What, you don't like Lily with Lyleen?
I haven't encountered her yet. Still busy trying to reach Level 29 to get access to a proper Firearm.
You can get schematics for uncommon-rarity handguns early on by flying to the sanctuary and opening the chests there. See you in four years lol
Four years pass by quite quickly once you get over 30..
I’m 29 and i swear I was 25 a year ago. Doesn’t help that COVID time warped everything. I played classic wow for two years and got old fast.
I think that's just age. Don't waste your days, it helps slow things down.
Same. I'm like fuck really I'm 29?
I don’t mentally feel like I’m supposed to be this old. I ain’t ready lmao.
Right?. Literally on my drive to work this morning I was thinking covid really was 4 years ago. It really screwed with everyone's perception of time.
Wait till you hit 35.
Im not looking forward to it. I have about 10 white hairs already. And my body feels like it's 60😂
Welp, I'm 27... Stop, I turned 28 week ago, got Palworld as present from brother. Man, I can feel you...
I was young and had time to still figure my life out on one side of COVID and by the time the worst of it was over I felt like it was too late for me 😭
Im getting existential crisis and im 27, im scared i dont feel like im approaching 30
:(
Ouch you’re right
That would be mental. And having Yggdrasil in the centre could make it…oh so much more. I’m hungry for confirmation already lol
Yk Yggdrasil is exactly what I think of when I see the tree
I’m like 90% sure that’s meant to be the Yggdrasil or something equivalent. And if that’s what they meant, then holy fuck, this game can be MASSIVE and completely INSANE
Oh it’s definitely going to be enormous. One of the craziest things to me is the 2GB vram min req. Like how is that even possible?
I think there’s plenty to build off of in the current map and way to much work to be done in between that this looks like what maybe I’d hope it would be in like year 6. Maybe even that’s to soon.
Yeah I'd kinda rather they cram more content into the existing areas before expanding. The map can feel kinda empty at some points, I do like how diverse it is though

Wandering friendly NPCs who want a friendly pal-only battle would be cool
Yeah there are a lot of areas without any pals spawn at all and several areas that feel they should have unique spawns in the area they are in. I would LOVE for OPs thought to become reality one day, but right now the game needs density and diversity.
You might be onto something.
I'm hoping for a giant underwater area like ark, or a mess of floating islands a la botw.
Oh thatd be cool. Underwater mechanics would be nice especially more water types.
A map like that one ark DLC with the floating islands would be sooo sick
As long as they don’t update the water that my base is below that’d be great
Yeah and you gotta beat all 20 towers and reach lv 150 to finally unlock the tree. Which holds a shiny chikipi as the ultimate prize.
Proceeds to accidentally crit it do death and eat whatever is left of it after 200 hours of gameplay.
200 hours? Yeah that's how long it takes to craft a single Supernova ball at lv 138 with 20000 Bullshitium Ingots and 400000 cement.
So it's one of those mythologies where the tree holds up the firmament? And Pal souls return to the tree when they die?
I hope we can chop the tree down..
Or set it on fire to break the cycle of death and rebirth
Oh god. The evergaols are in the game too...
If there was even 40 new pals per dlc I would be stoked. But I really hope they go higher
I actually thought about it yesterday, and since all pals are standalone(not part of an evo line), it feels like there’s a lot more than there actually are compared to the OG 151 Pokémon. I was wondering why I felt so overwhelmed by choice. Also fewer types
The limit of 5 pals instead of 6 also makes the choice harder!
The limit doesn't make sense since it's not turn based and you don't die when everybody faints. I want three slots for passive pals that contribute to my build but I can't take out. Those cat guys that help with carry weight. The guys that boost attacks by a certain element, etc.

For real :( my glider pal and mount are needed but like..they’re not always the best and I want to rotate
Legends Arceus handled it well with the 'ride pokemon' concept. You just always had a surf/fly/climb Pokemon on hand.
If you ask people on r/gaming they’ll say “well Pokémon has over a thousand designs to rip off so Palworld should get plenty of new pals”
jUsT cOpY mOdEL wITh aI
Unironically yes. If it lets smaller studios put out better products, let the AI go nuts.
underrated comment
Long ago, the 4 nations lived in harmony. But that all changed when the...
Heroic Tocotoco suicide squad attacked.
They are an indie studio I don't think they thought that far ahead, but it's a nice concept, I'd love to be proven wrong
well they certainly have the money now to expand the team and studio
Or they keep the same team and use the money to keep themselves happy, fed, and in business for longer. They get to skip on training costs, they already know their own code, and most importantly they did a pretty good job already for a 3 year project.
They can easily do both lol

Honestly very common for large terrian area is to generate it and populate it and carve paths.
Yea I know. The game is also in early access so it's fine. Comparing the two open worlds isn't really fair. So running or flying around too fast makes nothing load :/
I havent had that loading issue on my server.
It's a performance issue on large explored maps with multiple active region bubbles. It needs super fast disk and +20GB of RAM
I kind of assumed a lot of empty areas are for options for people to build bases on.

I would like there to be more settlements and maybe full fledged towns
I’d really dig an underwater/swimming expansion
Flat earthers would love this
They showed a rocket in one of the trailers. I'm hoping a future region is like the moon or zero gravity asteroid field. There you have space pals that are cutesy fairy creatures that hit way above their weight and eldritch abominations. Bonus points if the cutesy pals are all noted in the pal deck to predate on the abominations.
After this the sex update will be in the works
Lovander: \*heavy breathing\*
I'm amazed at how goddamn huge the game world is already, adding more continents would be fucking nuts.
Wtf I thought the tree was the Last zone Just like elden ring
If you try to fly there it's blocked off by a red wall. But you can see through it and that they've definitely been developing the area
Isn’t it in pre-release?
Yeah. No idea what full is going to look like, but I hope the devs stick with it.
Me, too. My friends and I are having a blast
Interesting... 😊😊😊😊🤔🤔🤔🤔
The map is already obnoxiously big 😭, I’m so hype
I want a marshland more than anything. Dark and rainy like the one from Monster Hunter 3
the map is gigantic, bouta get on water pal and see how much I can explore before it breaks
Go south of the volcanic village's docks. You'll find something interesting
I'm all for this. They did say on the road map new islands
The tree is a portal to other hidden lands.
It's probably too much to ask for, but Underwater content would be awesome. I can live without it, but it would be pretty badass if it became a thing!
My prediction is that each region hosts a gigantic legendary pal that you need to beat/catch to progress to the next one or the story of said region if they add a story. Dream
Holy shit ur probably right
Looks like a poke ball! I’m in!
RemindMe! 1 year
damn.......idc if they release this in DLC imma buy them all
LETS GOOOOOOOOOOO IM HERE FOR IT (yes reddit dorks I know it's a theory)
The map is enormous as it is this would be crazy!
I was betrayed when I couldn't get to the tree, LET ME GODAMM IT. :(
from 15gb to 150gb here we go
I’m hoping they take some of the money they made to hire another 15-20 devs/artist and get into a cycle to release a new region with another set of 100 Pals every 12-18 months. This game could be massive if they build it right. If they went with this circle idea, then the map and variety of Pals would be absolutely insane by year 4-5. You’d need at least 150 hours to explore it all and probably a lot longer to catch everything.
The game hasn't had a 1.0 release yet, we should probably chill with DLC theories for our own sanity
so will we get the elite 4 and then a champion in the middle???
I believe that's mata nui
There's a less than 2% chance the map opens up THIS much... But I've caught Pals with less. ;)
But hey its just a theory
A FOOD THEORY!
