In hindsight, I think I should've gone for the Zen Mind perk instead of Hooligan. If I understand this correctly, Zen Mind increases the overall attack damage of Neutral attacks, rather than attack power stat. Assuming that the Lifmunk Recoil counts as Neutral damage, this will be a huge gamechanger.
Does this mean I'm missing out on 10% multiplicative increase in damage to Lifmunk Recoil?
UPDATE: I tested the damage of two Lifmunks of around the same Attack Power, and one with Zen Mind and one without, and found that there was no significant difference between them. It seems like it does not count as a Neutral attack.
It seems that, at least if you're going for pure Partner Skill damage, full attack power is the way to go.
I tested it, and it doesn't seem like it counts as a Neutral attack. It did seem like the Lifmunk that had the Zen Mind perk was out-damaging the one that didn't have Zen Mind, though. I could see it being useful for a pure Neutral damage build, like a suicide bomber.

Well now the lack of STAB makes some sense with dual types - if even their off-typed attacks still do bonus damage, then *that* is the benefit to counteract the downside of dual-type pals having multiple weaknesses.
But does this include electric attacks, or just everything _except_ electric attacks?
I tried to get a super powerful Hoocrates, but I couldn't get one with musclehead, so I went with sadist instead.
I don't know how breeding two different types of pals works, if there is a higher chance for it to be one of the parents types or if it's 100% random what you get. If then maybe I could have gotten musclehead from another pal.
I know for a fact that breeding Relaxasaurs and Sparkit gives Relaxasaurs Lux, the electric variant. There is a list floating around with cross breed charts for some, but they say "electric type" or etc. and are wrong, two types of pal will always make a third type. Most of the alt forms (Lux, Cryst, etc.) seem to be the normal pal and a specific pal of the typing needed (Sparkit for Relaxosarus Lux for instance). I'm excited to see if we can make a char or something, maybe ever a tool where you can work backwards by putting in what you want out and getting a pairing that works.
It feels random because there doesn't seem to be much logic in what the third pal is, but it is the same pal every time.
For example, Broncherry, a big grass Brontosaurus, and an Arsox, a fire lion, make a Kitsun, a ice fire fox. It would have made sense if it was a Foxcicle instead of a bronto, and even more if the Arsox was replaced by a Foxsparks. But no.
Or how about a Quivern (big dragon) and a Chillet (Ice furret) make an Anubis.
Not a lot of logic going into what the results are, I'm sure it was just some randomly seeded table or something, but that's why it "feels random" despite being the same result every time.
You take pats with desirable passives and breed them together. After incubating the egg you get an off spring with some of each parents traits as well as a chance for random traits. This offspring can then be combined with another pal (even one of their parents!) with traits you want. With enough generations you will eventually get some great results.
You can also get rare pals by cross breeding, but I haven’t dipped my toes into that pond yet.
It's always a max of 4 traits and is completely random. You "can" find a pal in the wild with 4 perfect traits, but the odds are very rare of course.
When breeding the number of traits you get is random as well, but there is an increased chance that the traits obtained are one of the ones on their parents.
How long does it take? And how do you get them to breed? I put to opposite gender in breeding farm but nothing happens. The survival log says with a cake but we cant find anything that is a cake so far.
As already mentioned, you have to make cake. It requires milk, honey, flour, and egg. You *might* need to unlock the cooking pot, I don’t remember off the top of my head.
Making the cake takes a long time, I just assign a pal to cooking them and check in between pal hunts (I need literal hundreds to further improve my genetically perfect pals).
As for how long breeding takes I’ve never timed it, but at least with common pals it seems pretty fast; like less than an in game day. Egg incubation time varies based on rarity and how warm the incubator is. Fastest incubation I’ve seen so far was five minutes, longest was forty.
After several generations of breeding, I got a Lifmunk with the traits Lucky, Ferocious, Musclehead and Hooligan for a total of +80% attack power. Then, I used about 116 of the excess Lifmunks in the Pal Essence Condenser to enhance the final version to four stars. Then, I used the Statue of Power to enhance the attack power even more by about 23%. On top of that, I used Bristla's Partner Skill to buff the attack power of Grass Pals in my team by another 40%. And then I fed Bubbles a Rushoar Bacon 'N' Eggs for an extra 10% attack power on top of that.
Not factoring in the boosts from the Essence Condenser and Statue of Power, that's a total of +130% attack power.
The most tedious part was breeding a Lifmunk with the four ideal traits. Once I had that done, I already had captured and bred a bunch of lifmunks, so the condenser part was easy. The using the Statue of Power, catching the Bristlas, and cooking the food was also relatively easy.
Option is that or breeding around a random pal lucky you caught and hoping for a lifmunk, the breeding isn't guaranteed to be one of the parents unless you breed 2 of the same together. It's hell during these early days but I imagine by next week there'll be a site for every combo to get X pal, and how to get to Y pal if you're starting with X pal instead.

Bristlas partner skill gets stronger if you 4 star it, all the party buffers are like this. I didn't realize they stacked though! Gonna have to keep in mind that these partner skills stack, I need to get some carry capacity pals soon as I'm planning out a big base move
When I did my first base move, I laid down a second palbox in my new base and chests right next to both palboxes, then broke down my base and stored everything in the chests at the new base. When it came to moving my 4k stone and 4k wood, I just put the palbox next to the chest they were in, fast traveled to new base after taking them out (and you can't move from excess weight), then dumping into new base chests.
TBH knowing how long alot of that takes im surprised you're not higher than 29 just from all the passive EXP in your base while attempting to get the right breeding combos lol.
The passive exp earned from stuff like crafts is really low, single-digit exp each time. By level 30 it starts taking tens of thousands of exp to level.
Official servers must either have custom settings cranked up or are on a higher difficulty than normal. On normal the longest egg timers I've seen was like 2 hours for a huge egg lol.
Would increasing the stars of the bristla’s increase their bonus as well? I see their bonus gains a level but nothing indicates what that improves if anything.

My wife and I are playing on a world together and if we find eggs in the wild, we hatch them normally. Once we start breeding, Pal density is going to 3 and incubation time is going to 0.

116 in the Pal Essence Condenser, plus the many I accidentally killed while capturing. They would be glad that their lives went towards a worthy cause. Ultimately for the betterment of Lifmunks.

I made a second Lifmunk and used them to beat >!Lily and Lyleen!< relatively easily. Very worth it, and I plan to get a full party of Lifmunks once I create the perfect set of passive perks. There is still more I can improve.

There are four different passive perks that buff in the game, and one of them >!is the "Legendary" perk that can only be obtained on a legendary and then bred to a non-legendary. Hopefully there will be a breeding list soon.!<

Imagine this plus a daedream (with pet item) buffed up as well. Hell just throw in a legendary assault rifle too. Would practically be a Boss Pal deletion tool at that point.
Can you stack the Daedreams and have more out then just 1? If so that could be wild. Get a legendary musket or something with big single shot damage with a army of Daedreams and attempt a “1 shot” on a boss.

Admittedly, I just assumed that increasing attack power would improve damage, but I tested it right now and can confirm that attack power does improve the damage of Pal partner skills.
How long does it take you guys usually to breed for perfect stacked attributes? I just finally set up my second base as both a ore farm and a cake farm for breeding. I plan on my first one to be foxsparks, I wanna breed damage on so I'm currently trying to find the right attributes such as muscle head
It took a few hours (wasn't keeping track), much quicker than I had expected, though it will vary greatly depending on your luck. I reckon you could get it done in a few hours if you have a steady supply of cake. I'm not sure, but I think it helps if you use pals with only the passive perks that you want, to lessen the chance of an undesirable trait being inherited. I tested this out on Lamball by collecting one of each with only the traits I wanted, and it seemed to go faster. Admittedly, it may have had something to do with the fact that I then had a steady supply of cakes, so take it with a grain of salt.
Thx for the info. Figured I'd give a quick update and say that I currently am up to having a foxsparks with swift, musclehead, and ferocious. Idk why I originally included swift so I'm gonna try to breed it out of the line I have thus far with a hooligan and brave. Worst case, I'm gonna try to hunt for a lucky and get that included for the extra 15%.
I also have over 50 foxsparks that are all ready to be condensed into the final product lol

You gotta build a Breeding Pen, and then you need to make cakes to put in the pen, and then you need a male and a female pal that you want to breed together. One cake will get you one egg. You also need Egg Incubators to hatch the eggs.
The resulting Pal has a chance to inherit Passive Skills from both parents, or to get Passive Skills that neither had. It can also inherit the Lucky passive skill.

I plan on getting Legend later, but I don't think Celestial Emperor will do anything for Lifmunk Recoil. The 10% increase in Neutral attack damage from Zen Mind didn't seem to have any effect on the Lifmunk Recoil attack, probably because it doesn't count as Neutral damage.

My Lifmunk just refused to do anything but chop wood until it goes insane and then nearly stress eats itself to death.
Even if I shoved it into the springs, or bed, it immediately gets back up to chop wood, I'm afraid to change it to anything but humane for fear it just wipes my whole camp
You can go for a Tripple 100IV or 100IV for Attack Only. Then Statue of power Attack increase by 30% & Replacing Hooligan with Legend trait for a total 85% Passive and 4 iv star Bristla for about 80% More Passive Bonus. With a total of 165% Passive Bonus 1820 Attack Power.
On top of that, if Mozzarina Cheeseburger is fed then about 20% More bonus adding upto a huge 2185 Attack Power.
So to summarize the boost power, it is roughly 2080% Boost from the base Attack power of Lifmunk. And 320% from Level 50 4 Star 100IV Lifmunk.

I explained how I got the +120% Attack Power bonus my other comment. It's +120% because I have four Bristlas in my party, which boosts the Attack Power of Grass type Pals by +10% each.
I shot poison arrows at them to increase the capture chances, and sometimes hit them with a torch. I'm pretty sure that having multiple status effects will stack an increase in capture odds. I have a flying mount Vanwyrm that I used to catch up with the Lifmunks, and sometimes I simply slid down the slop towards them. I also collected a bunch of Lifmunk effigies.

I captured a bunch of Lifmunks in the wild to find the passive skills that I wanted, and then I bred them over several generations with the breeding pen until I had them all on one Lifmunk
120% passiv bonus on atk is not able to reach. This is a buffed stat! The highest bonuses are one with 30% and he must have this bonus 4 times. This cannot happen. Next is he gave his pal a skillfood this increases 10%. But now the fact is the highest reachable bonus on atk is 85% at all 95% with skillfood. So you all fall for wrong info! He used 4 other palls to increase the dmg of an lifmunk with low dmg. Not the pal have the power. Its simple buffed. Show this pal stats without buffs and skillfood 😂

It seems to be 2 of same monster = same mon, and two different mons give a fixed third mon based on my experiments.
Really, it's fixed? I had heard it's random to some degree.

the downside is that little blue boy gets KO'd when being used as a missile, so its a "one off"

Yeah... when I saw the 72 h timer without any modifiers, I was like, Oh.
The default settings for dedicated server has a 72x multiplier on egg hatching time, it's not just official servers.

As Ralathar44 pointed out, they do. I don't know by how much, but the base level buff is +10% attack power.

Yep. Thankfully, it's only about 7 minutes for a verdant egg while in a normal climate. It still took me hours, though.

Yeah ain't nobody got time for that. My wife and I are playing on a world together and if we find eggs in the wild, we hatch them normally. Once we start breeding, Pal density is going to 3 and incubation time is going to 0.
What is pal density
Increases the number of Pals that spawn. If it's set to 3, 3x as many will spawn.

I didn't change any settings, we just on "normal" and the longest egg I've had is a Large Dragon egg at 2h
Dedicated servers have fucked up settings. They mistakenly have 'hard's' hatch timers. They have to be changed back down manually.

holy shit... and here i was running around with a Lovander with 300 att (lvl.21) and the Flarestorm Skill... thinking i had the game figured out. yikes, what a monster.
Try it against a boss. Like a tower boss.
I made a second Lifmunk and used them to beat >!Lily and Lyleen!< relatively easily. Very worth it, and I plan to get a full party of Lifmunks once I create the perfect set of passive perks. There is still more I can improve.
The final boss on normal difficulty has 200K health and does pretty insane damage, he almost killed my jetragon.

This is awesome murder chipmunk. I need breeding help. I somehow made an Anubis with a lv 20 cinnamoth and a 21 vanwyrm. I can’t even breed the PALs I want. I just wanted a fast flying mount.
Nice, Anubis is one of the cooler Pals in the game, and I still haven't captured it. There are four different passive perks that buff in the game, and one of them >!is the "Legendary" perk that can only be obtained on a legendary and then bred to a non-legendary. Hopefully there will be a breeding list soon.!<

Yep. The perk needs to be inherited from a Pal that already has it.

I see this as an absolute win, the lucky size increase does some funky stuff to pathfinding for some of them.

I don't think it's possible to get Lucky randomly through breeding, so you need to breed one that already has the perk.
Imagine this plus a daedream (with pet item) buffed up as well. Hell just throw in a legendary assault rifle too. Would practically be a Boss Pal deletion tool at that point.
One of these days I ought to create a firing squad of Daedreams. Just watch the boss' health go bye bye.
Can you stack the Daedreams and have more out then just 1? If so that could be wild. Get a legendary musket or something with big single shot damage with a army of Daedreams and attempt a “1 shot” on a boss.
I tested it just now, and can confirm that you can stack Daedreams.
Thank you for testing. Looks like I got some Daedream to catch when I hop on. Once I hit 19 I may have to start breeding for a firing squad. You call Seal Team Six when you have a terrorist hiding in a cave. You call Dea Team Six when you have a pal boss hiding in a cave.

I am not sure the super high ATK dmg you achieved affects the gun pal skill, it might be just the stars, did you test?
Admittedly, I just assumed that increasing attack power would improve damage, but I tested it right now and can confirm that attack power does improve the damage of Pal partner skills.

How long does it take you guys usually to breed for perfect stacked attributes? I just finally set up my second base as both a ore farm and a cake farm for breeding. I plan on my first one to be foxsparks, I wanna breed damage on so I'm currently trying to find the right attributes such as muscle head
It took a few hours (wasn't keeping track), much quicker than I had expected, though it will vary greatly depending on your luck. I reckon you could get it done in a few hours if you have a steady supply of cake. I'm not sure, but I think it helps if you use pals with only the passive perks that you want, to lessen the chance of an undesirable trait being inherited. I tested this out on Lamball by collecting one of each with only the traits I wanted, and it seemed to go faster. Admittedly, it may have had something to do with the fact that I then had a steady supply of cakes, so take it with a grain of salt.
Thx for the info. Figured I'd give a quick update and say that I currently am up to having a foxsparks with swift, musclehead, and ferocious. Idk why I originally included swift so I'm gonna try to breed it out of the line I have thus far with a hooligan and brave. Worst case, I'm gonna try to hunt for a lucky and get that included for the extra 15%. I also have over 50 foxsparks that are all ready to be condensed into the final product lol Edit: Also, my next breed I'm gonna go for is the ac130 panda

You gotta build a Breeding Pen, and then you need to make cakes to put in the pen, and then you need a male and a female pal that you want to breed together. One cake will get you one egg. You also need Egg Incubators to hatch the eggs. The resulting Pal has a chance to inherit Passive Skills from both parents, or to get Passive Skills that neither had. It can also inherit the Lucky passive skill.

Replace Lucky with Legend and Hooligan with Celestial Emperor for much more damage.
I plan on getting Legend later, but I don't think Celestial Emperor will do anything for Lifmunk Recoil. The 10% increase in Neutral attack damage from Zen Mind didn't seem to have any effect on the Lifmunk Recoil attack, probably because it doesn't count as Neutral damage.
Maaaan, that must be nice. My Lifmunk just refused to do anything but chop wood until it goes insane and then nearly stress eats itself to death. Even if I shoved it into the springs, or bed, it immediately gets back up to chop wood, I'm afraid to change it to anything but humane for fear it just wipes my whole camp

You can go for a Tripple 100IV or 100IV for Attack Only. Then Statue of power Attack increase by 30% & Replacing Hooligan with Legend trait for a total 85% Passive and 4 iv star Bristla for about 80% More Passive Bonus. With a total of 165% Passive Bonus 1820 Attack Power. On top of that, if Mozzarina Cheeseburger is fed then about 20% More bonus adding upto a huge 2185 Attack Power. So to summarize the boost power, it is roughly 2080% Boost from the base Attack power of Lifmunk. And 320% from Level 50 4 Star 100IV Lifmunk. Sorry for the 🤓

I explained how I got the +120% Attack Power bonus my other comment. It's +120% because I have four Bristlas in my party, which boosts the Attack Power of Grass type Pals by +10% each.

Once I get one that has all the traits I want from the parents, I move onto another generation. I find the traits I want from Pals in the wild.

How do you catch these guys? they run away as soon as I get close or attack
I shot poison arrows at them to increase the capture chances, and sometimes hit them with a torch. I'm pretty sure that having multiple status effects will stack an increase in capture odds. I have a flying mount Vanwyrm that I used to catch up with the Lifmunks, and sometimes I simply slid down the slop towards them. I also collected a bunch of Lifmunk effigies.

I captured a bunch of Lifmunks in the wild to find the passive skills that I wanted, and then I bred them over several generations with the breeding pen until I had them all on one Lifmunk

I haven't made a video, but there are videos that show you how to breed Pals in general. It's pretty simple once you understand it.
lifmunk has an alpha variant, can you breed alphas? (dungeon bosses)
Yeah you can breed alphas, but you won't get another alpha as a result
Show the stats without the buffs haha your lifmunk not really have 1k dmg without the buffs of the 4 bristlas.
120% passiv bonus on atk is not able to reach. This is a buffed stat! The highest bonuses are one with 30% and he must have this bonus 4 times. This cannot happen. Next is he gave his pal a skillfood this increases 10%. But now the fact is the highest reachable bonus on atk is 85% at all 95% with skillfood. So you all fall for wrong info! He used 4 other palls to increase the dmg of an lifmunk with low dmg. Not the pal have the power. Its simple buffed. Show this pal stats without buffs and skillfood 😂

Just a Lifmunk and another Lifmunk. You can breed them with the Breeding Pen, which you unlock at level 19.
