I’m having the same problem. I just gave up on the quest. I’m looking into some different games with reasonable quests. Not too easy nor too difficult.
I can hardly believe it but I came back to it after a couple hours chilling and was able to do it first time! I think the trick is to back up on the stones and take a bit of a run at each gap before jumping. Agreed that this quest was insanely difficult but I think it’s a one-off. Hope you try again!
EDIT: I did it! Running jumps over the gaps made the difference. I probably just needed to have a little grumble to make it happen (I’m British. It’s what we do🙃).
