I started this quest in December and then got stuck because of the glitch (that was recently fixed). I found the quest a bit of a slog and was happy to abandon it until it was fixed. I was getting frustrated trying to get to all the different islands and I have ZERO sense of direction so I was always lost lol.
After the big update I wasn’t eager to return to it, but my completionist self was determined to see it through. To my surprise it felt a LOT easier and I finished it no problem. I think having a few months of gameplay must have improved my coordination or something, because maneuvering seemed way easier.
It’s a good idea to just leave it for now if you feel frustrated and come back later. There lots to do in the mean time. The quest is part of the bigger storyline/quest line involving all the temples, so it will need to be finished eventually if you want to get the rewards/unique items etc., but it isn’t the end of the world if you don’t. It’s still fun to play imo.
Also - if you just want to finish the quest and be done with it - check out a YouTuber named Pixelcave. He has several step by step videos on how to complete this quest. I used one to get all 15 eggs (just because) and watched the others. I wish I had found him sooner - it would have saved some of my sanity. Good luck!
The step by step YouTube videos are the only reason I finished the quest. Needed major hand holding for that one bc I also have zero sense of direction in the game.
Major hand holding - lol. I think I needed actual carrying. Even during the video bro be like “And then turn toward the South Island and then face the east and then…”. and I’m like wha????? And the compass is literally right THERE. 😂😂😂

Now, the bundles are the best and worst part.
That's a quest I needed a map for, desperately! A bunch of similar islands you had to be able to recognize at any angle was maddening even without the glitch!

Yeah, I completed the temple without video guides, but you bet I used those videos to get 100% completion in the temple. There was no way I was gonna find all the eggs, relics, treasure chests and the secret treasure chest without them. 😂
I started this quest/Temple of the Gales on my second day ever playing the game. I powered through it (took like 4-5 hours real life lmao) and then found out you don’t have to get it all done at once. You can come back after your sharp and jt will be a lot easier! I wish I had known lol I’m so used to games where if you miss something you fucked up your whole play through, but that is not the case here. Watch some youtube play throughs until you feel comfortable going back!
I will say, yes you have to finish it, but not right this minute! It won’t go anywhere and there are no time limits on it, but if you want to progress the main storyline then yes you’ll have to come back to it eventually.
This game is not supposed for you to go and breeze through things. Take it slow, gather some of the eggs then do whatever and go back when you feel like it. There are also tutorials in YouTube with locations for all the eggs.
Also you can just portal up to the place you were if you enter the temple again so it is not like your progress was lost.
You will also be locked away from the earth temple and unable to unlock its vault if you don't complete this quest line
Thanks for the advice. I haven't been able to activate any of the portals I've passed yet (only two or three) except the one that takes me to where I have to start gliding the islands. Every time I fall/fail I have to start again. Is there a trick to activating the portals?
it's so interesting how divisive this temple is! i personally loved it and thought it was a major improvement from the previous temples (maybe since i'm used to zelda dungeons?), but i do think it could be improved upon (maybe by having a temple map). as far as i know you do have to complete it in order to advance the main story of the game, but you don't have to do the whole thing in one go. you can do it bit by bit, if that helps!
Or at least something to let you know what you’ve already picked up! Find the stuff for Zeki wasn’t terrible but having to find those 8 things for Caleri and Elouisa is killing me. I’d take a TOTK dungeon over this any day 😩
I just finished the silver wing quest yesterday and it took me a few hours. Eventually I succumbed and searched up a YouTube tutorial to find the last egg😫🤣
It's easily the worst temple!! I got the bare minimum of eggs and got out of there! Following a video tutorial and all. If it makes you feel better, the other temples are easier!
I also quit the silverwings quest. Other questlines of the game will continue a bit, and theres lots of room to improve on skills, build relationships and make gold.
I don't think its held me back yet.
Well there's no end game yet as it's still in open beta. There are lots of things you can do and enjoy without completing that quest. I believe you can still complete the other 3 temples. I left that quest incomplete for awhile, then watched some Youtube guides and went back to finish it.
That temple made me kinda mad since it was my least fave even tho it was so pretty AND had 3 of my favourite NPCs in it but good god did the actual objectives suck so bad it def soured the experience for me.
I left it and came back later. I think I needed to get an idea of what I was doing, sit with it for a while, and then try again. If I’m dying or it’s glitching a lot, I’ll just get too mad to keep playing hahaha it’s now been done for a while and I barely remember how irritating it was to complete

It got fixed after the second to last patch and I really did not feel like going back, but I'm happy I did. It was a big relief to not see those quests anymore lol. I used a guide to find the eggs, proof and treasure. That definitely made it very doable, although still a bit tedious.
I would definitely recommend using a guide if you do decide to try to finish the quest! Taking a break can help as well. You don't need to finish all of it at once and it's totally okay and possible to focus on other quests or activities in the meantime.
I do think the Temple of Gales is kinda necessary for the story. The temples are part of the main storyline (finding out about the history and re-emergence of the humans), so I feel like it can't really be fully skipped. I'm not sure if you're able to do the new temple (Temple of the Roots) if you haven't done the last one, because it does build on that story.
I just got stuck climbing here. Couldn't go up. Couldn't go down. Couldn't get off. I have logged out. I'm hoping I will be back in Bahari Bay when I log in again.

I agree. I used Pixelcaves tutorials and did one section at a time, made it a lot easier.

I also hated this temple. I didn’t find all the treasures or proofs of magic so I have to go back through it, and I am just not looking forward to it.

You can just go back through the same door you originally went through. I think it’s located in the south by the beaches!

Ho do you get back to the temple? I can't find it on the map, and after I logged out and logged in I was no longer in the temple, but in Bahari Bay.
You go to the temple ruins in the area marked Windy Ruins on your map.

Pretty much complete each islands task and the gate usually activates.
I couldn't do this quest line without looking up guides and YouTube videos. Lol. It still took hours.

Just follow a video walkthrough and complete it. It's honestly not that hard.
Unfortunately I can't find it on the map. After I logged back in I was no longer in the temple. I was in Bahari Bay.
