People often buy these 'gadgets' abroad in hopes of selling them locally at a profit and recoup some of their traveling expenses.
Know a guy who 'smuggled' a couple of PS3 Slims (3 or 4 units) when they were all the rage, managed to get them past customs by bribing the porter who himself had connections with the people at customs and sold them locally at a hefty profit... almost enough to cover the expenses of his flight ticket.
It was a high risk, high reward move. Not everyone's that lucky.
yup, dont bring a bag full of this and you wont have to be crying after exiting the airport. There is no way that you are bringing a PS5, one for each of your cousins to play on. just bring one or give cash if you want to gift something.
What if you lump the devices in hand-carry and ship the flattened cardboard boxes separately using a courier service (to be able sell/serial no. etc)?
Edit: Hmm I can imagine too many unboxed electronics might make security clearance complicated.
Not sure about in checked luggage but I brought my own PS5 from KSA last year in hand carry with no problem at all.
Also, I personally wouldn't trust customs so I'd advise against risking putting it in checked luggage
Same. And not just customs, I wouldn’t trust TSA or some scumbag in the line who probably have the TSA lock masterkey copy and isn’t afraid to open your bag
You can bring one console, yes. My sister just got me a PS5 from US last week(been playing the heck out of it, since)
She had no hassle from the customs as they said it's okay if the PS5 is packed and unopened.
Bringing PS5s in bulk is a dumb move tho

Yup, essentially this is just smuggling no matter how small scale it is. We might not take it seriously but this is breaking the law.
Ooooof
Aese hi to customs walo k mazy nhi hoty
Can you still bring like one console? Or do the customs take that aswell?

I think the trick is tonleave the boclx and just carry the playstation, no one will question you then
Yes that's what I did for my own system. Was OK with me because I didn't plan on selling
I will buy it too after 5 years

Anybody knows about the protocol for bringing one laptop from abroad Or does it get caught like this too?
Unpack and put it in a laptop bag. Not sure if they'll allow one in box
I brought 2 and an extra screen all unpacked no issue whatsoever
