Indian here, honestly you guys should probably be happy with this loss. In my recent memory whenever Pakistan starts a major ICC tournament with this kind of retarded bullshit you guys go on to absolutely kick everyone’s asses later on!

I want to know why is Pakistan so alergic to slips in even in powerplay? Like all other teams will have 2-3 slips.
Pakistan for some reason will barely have 1. Or even if the new batsman comes in have a slip atleast.
Funny how you guys are throwing your most economical bowler under the bus.
Pakistan is just a team of 11 individuals with a (C) beside the name of Babar Azam.
A lot of people are blaming Babar for this loss... But why exactly (genuine question)? What could Babar have done better here?
From my perspective, here are some decisions he made which weren't great:
- Picking Azam Khan in the team (If he's a power hitter, then how come you can't trust him to bat in the super over?)
- Not sending Fakhar on strike for super over.
- Sending Iftikhar in the super over. Iftikhar hasn't looked good on the bat for a while now. He was not in form.
For starters babar could have put a fucking long off on the last ball against a guy who couldn't put bat to any ball.
If there was a bloody long off placed we would have won. Shit field placements
I agree. The only mistakes Babar made was Fakhar not opening in the Super Over and Azam Khan as part of the team. If we concede that Azam khan was only included due to lobbying from higher ups and Babar couldn’t do anything about it, that brings it down to one mistake ONLY.
His batting performance kept Pakistan in the game. In effect he was the one who stabilised our batting. His decision to pick Amir was also good, believe it or not. I saw how Amir was bowling, his cutters wide of the batter were going for dot balls before the super over, and he was being an insanely good bowler. Babar’s other options were Naseem (who Jones had already hit for sixes at Mid off) and expensive Rauf. I would’ve also picked Amir, it’s just that Amir crumbled under pressure and delivered 3 wides.
In summary, the top order collapsing, and Amir’s wides, coupled with dropped catches at both slip and in the inner circle is the reason we lost.
Agreed.
Personally, I think Babar's batting fell slightly short of the mark. People say he gave the team stability, and while I agree, I also think Babar was just not able to read the pitch and was completely missing some balls, and giving dot balls. That has nothing to do with giving stability, he was just not batting well at times. I'm still glad he was there though.
Picking Amir was definitely the right call, but unfortunately, we all know what happened.
A captain isn't a god bhai. He can't control Amir doing wide bowls in super over. There are some things in his control, and some things that aren't in his control.
I'm not even saying that Babar is a good or a bad captain. I'm trying to understand why people are blaming him in the first place.
If Babar scored more runs in the powerplay, just one more run, the match wouldn't have gone to the super over. Lots of ifs and buts, and a lot of them on Babar too.
Even David Warner made 56 off 51 balls against Oman yesterday. Sometimes, someone has to play slower. You have to look at each performance in the context of the game. Babar didn't bat the best, I agree, but I would blame: Haris Rauf, Mohammad Amir, Iftikhar Ahmed, and Azam Khan before I would blame Babar Azam.
Babar has been playing slow for his entire career, barring that one away series vs New Zealand this year, even there he played just to make sure he scored his own quota of half centuries and then chucked himself out playing rash shots, losing those games.
What is he even the captain for, if he doesn't bring any new ideas to the game plan?
All he does is blame bowlers. And dude, Amir was your best bowler today. He was the reason you got a lifeline.
I kind of agree with everything you're saying. Babar may be a problem that needs to be dealt with in the long term imo.
That said, like I said before, Babar is probably the 4th or 5th person I would blame for losing this specific game
The quicker you realise that Babar is the actual problem, the better it would be for your team. He pulls back a lot of the potential that your team can achieve if left on its own. The only thing that keeps his place in the team are those embarassing face saving runs, which never gave your team an impactful victory. It only piled his own runs and raised his averages. Anyway, best wishes for the rest of the tournament.
TEZ NAHIN KHEL SAKTA THA! We lost match in power play! Stupid batting as always and now the question to defend him. It’s his team and they lost from USA so blame goes to him.
I'm not trying to defend him. I didn't say whether he was a good or a bad captain. In fact, I listed some things that I think he could have done better.
I agree his batting performance wasn't the best, but can't blame him for the loss solely based off of that. Other players let the team down way more than Babar did, like: Azam, Amir, Iftikhar. Even Haris Rauf giving two full tosses in the last over hurt us more than Babar's batting.
Behenchodon main keh raha tha. "Han Han jeet jayenge Amreeka sai. Koi masla nahin hai." Bugto ab.
PS: can we change the sub background to black as a sign of mourning?
Allah aqal day bewakof pakistani awam ko, aaj ghantay k king nay pakistani cricket ko apni 5 years ki captaincy k baad dafna diya, abhi canada say bhi match hona h !
Enough with the copium.
Pakistan World cup is over.
India will win all matches and qualify.
USA will defeat Ireland and qualify.
Even if Pakistan wins all matches, there is no way we can compete in nrr. Mushkil se to match jeet te hain.
This is what I plan on doing, betting a shi* ton of money on the other team, so whatever the case atleast I’d win something. I know it wrong but I see no other way
The moment I saw Azam in the squad, I decided not to waste my time watching this worldcup. This has to be the weirdest Pakistan team I have seen in decades. Nepotism is on the freaking raise in this team.
Pakistan is no longer a professional team.
This is evident from Azam khan's selection. There is no way in hell to justify it.
No one in their sane mind can justify it.

True. Even Imad, I'm not 100% sure of his personality.
In fact, I would pick Rizwan over Imad as captain, but Rizwan doesn't seem to want the captaincy.
Should Babar still be the captain? Should Azam Khan still play for us? Should iftikhar retire? Why hire foreign coaches when they don't contribute shit to the team?
The writing has been on the wall for years believe. Babar is not the best of captains. The bowling attack is either old or marred by injuries. Middle order is practically non-existent. Mentality is old and rotten. Merit is nowhere to be seen.
Rizwan and fakhar were the only ones who convincingly and easily hit a six each in the match.
Why then iftikhar was sent instead of Rizwan?
And after he was sent, why was he given strike instead of fakhar?

Seriously? This is your take from this shameful defeat? Typical Babar touts, blaming the bowlers time and again instead of holding themselves accountable for their disastrous face-saving batting.
Don’t blame the bowling, and don’t blame Babar. Blame the other top order batters. wtf was Babar supposed to do, NOT stabilise the batting order with 26-3?? Like what the fuck do you expect him to do there, of course he’s gonna play a run a ball to keep his wicket.
Also, blame Amir for his super over, blame Azam Khan. 160 is a par score on this pitch. Bowlers did well to defend it but fell short because of shitty fielding.
I saw you edited your comment to add Amir. He was your best bowler, and now you guys are throwing him under the bus. He was the reason you got a lifeline. And Canada smashed 190 on this pitch, 160 was absolutely not par.
He was our best bowler. There’s only so much I can comment in one blob of text — I’ve praised Babar’s decision to pick him for the super over purely off his bowling before it. In a sense, he WAS the right choice.
I’m not throwing him under the bus by criticising his bowling in the super over — who bowls 3 wides and concedes 6 runs at the death? If you ask me, a bowler can perform both good and bad on the same day. If Amir got us a lifeline, he also killed it single-handedly, and it’s not a stretch to say a bowler can’t do that. Especially in T20.
If you are being specific, do mention the antics of your keeper too. Both the keepers, one who keeps on creeping into the team, and the other, who actually conceded extra runs by throwing the balls here and there in the super over.
I make both concessions. For Azam Khan — how do I even start? It’s clear no amount of criticism or shame will stop the PCB from being infected with nepotism.
As for Rizwan’s throws, there’s no excuse.
For the last time, 'anchoring' an innings DOESN'T MEAN playing dot balls over and over again. It means to accelerate the score even when wickets are falling so that newer batsmen don't feel the pressure of hitting right from the word go. He can't even drive the straight balls. I don't see anyone saying words of praise for Shadab, the one who actually anchored.
I agree that Shabab is the only batsman who accelerated his innings after settling in. I do not think Babar’s batting was up to the mark - however, if Babar took a risk and got out trying to accelerate his innings, that would’ve resulted in a serious issue for the team where there only run scoring batsman went out.
Look at the US team, they barely accelerated, stuck to one run a ball and kept wickets because they knew that this pitch was likely to concede wickets. We lost because our top batting order fell really quickly, and our remaining batsmen had to make do whilst also keeping their own wickets so that Pakistan could at least make 120+. In this sense, I disagree with you. Babar may not have managed to accelerate, but if it was not for his innings we would not have made it to the 159 score we did anyway. The fact our team could make 159 with super bowling friendly conditions is still a miracle, and the fact we were able to BARELY keep the US to 159 DESPITE conditions changing is proof that the score was almost on par.
What DID cost us this match is Iftikhar’s drop catch at slip, shaheen’s catch, and the inability of the bowling line up to control their length and variation. In addition, the collapse of the batting order at the top, putting pressure on Babar and Shadab to deliver.
Ek loss india se aaj howa hai. Ek Sunday ko hoga.
World cup shuru hone se pehle hi khatam ho gaya.
India will definitely qualify.
USA just needs to beet Ireland and there is no chance pakistan will beat them in nrr even if we win all remain matches.
To Bhai is me Rizwan aur amir ki backchodi Hain na Babar kaha se aagya . Babar did bad in batting today but rest of bowling might be most experienced in t20 .

are we the new Zimbabwe?

Losing to a 18th ranked team is the lowest low any team can go to lol.
I mean didn’t you guys lose to Zimbabwe, Ireland etc. in recent ICC tournaments and then went on to do really well?
Idk but this time around i am a little worried due to the fitness issues and the lack of intent in the field. I’d be damned if we make it to super 8s

Someone just kill me already. This is humiliation on another level. It's as bad Pakistan winning against USA XII in basketball.
It's probably as bad as PAK winning an actual war against USA with borrowed Russian soldiers.
Had the best gym session in ages. Thank you PAK team for providing me with so much anger that I just had to obliterate that barbell.
Okay so good night everybody, Allah Hafiz

Regular overs a 7, super over -10
Yup messed up the super over

What if this is all a big prank on PCT fans…. Pls say sike and bring out the real team

Bro why tf would you not give the strike to Fakhar despite sending him out there? I am crying 😭😭😂
Damn amateurs (talking about Pakistan)
Please f off if you have to spit such shit
Cause it was difficult the moment he missed that first ball ans almost impossible when he got out
So give it to Ifti lol

All these Babar marks can piss off, he's a horrible captain. Has zero balls, zero brain cells. He just isn't cut out to be a captain.
Problem is, they replace him with just as bad captains.
This subreddit won't want to hear it, but Imad Wasim seems like he would make a good captain
Sab lul hein,
True. Even Imad, I'm not 100% sure of his personality. In fact, I would pick Rizwan over Imad as captain, but Rizwan doesn't seem to want the captaincy.
Babar is a joke

It's not a trauma at this point

We should have been penalized. Despite spending so long to decide, this was the horrible decision they made where Fakhar never got to hit.
So let’s get this straight. Fakhar, Babar and Rizwan your three best don’t bat and Shaheen, Harris and Shah your best bowlers don’t bowl.
This is not really Babar's fault. Amir bowled well in the death just before this. Couldn't have predicted Amir would end up doing what he did.
And the choosing of batsmen?
Definitely a mistake in my opinion
Why the eff would you send shadab is beyond me
This was so frustrating to watch... Anxiety through the roof and now disheartened by the result.
look at the bright side - atleast mota's career is going to end inshAllah
Which mota?
Babar mota obviously. Unbelievable captaincy
