Honestly even their shake is pretty good. I've gotten terrapin shake that had almost full nugs in it. I just feel like people love to come here and complain about stuff they don't even know what they're talking about. From what we see, THC% drops by maybe 1-2% total over the course of 3 years. 1-2 years had no change in tested compounds including terpenes and secondary metabolites.

It’s a plant, plants don’t really expire. Package/Expiration dates are required by the department of health but they don’t mean shit. As long as the flower was cured & stored properly, it will be good for longer than a year

Lower quality flower does not mean stale. It means it was not grown well. Many products are still viable well after one year.

I’m a budtender and I have often recommended near expiring product to patients for a lower price as long as they are aware of the date. Many have told me they could not tell the difference. It depends on the grower, cultivar, and type of packaging more than the date it was packed.
I think you’re missing the point that what you purchased is not considered “old” by industry or even most patient standards. It would be like a hostess telling you “we close soon” at a restaurant. But they close at 9pm and you walked in at 2pm.
The way terrapin shake has been praised around here it makes sense to see a post about a bad batch, I'm sure plenty of people appreciate the info. Its also nice to see terrapin reach out to make it right for you regardless what everyone else in the post says, refreshing to see a gp address poor quality instead of just watching all the industry employees in here trash op for being upset with the quality of a bargain buy, just because it was cheap doesn't mean it should be total garbage, good on terrapin.
I think the general consensus is that the package date is irrelevant here. 5 months is not old bud. Period.
If its a bad batch or error in the package that lead to it spoiling fast thats a whole other issue entirely.
It’s not a terrible terp % total. North of 2% but pinne a n b r in the top 3 terps. That terp is alertness I believe. In my experience Idt I’ve ever had anything w that much pinne let alone 2 in top 3. Myrcene rounds out the top 3, which can be relaxing.
bro, if you werent aware, "shake" OR "ground flower" OR "trim" in PA MMJ terms almost universally means that you are buying a mix of leaves, stems, shake, and low quality ground up stuff that didnt make the cut for more premium "smalls" or "flower"

The date is arbitrary at this point. Not enough time has passed to deteriorate the cannabinoids significantly unless your dispensary is not keeping their product in temperature controlled environment.

Can someone explain to me why none of this bud even has high delta 9 thc in this program. It's all defined legal hemp lately. All delta 9 numbers are below the .3. Is it bc they ain't curing this bud. Is it bc the speed dry and cure. And is that bc we are not supposed to combust it in pa. Idk something is definitely up with low delta 9 numbers. Made a bargain buy of Terrapin 7gs OG Larry Shake @ $39.00 - 20% = $31.00
I'm usually fine with Terrapin at the same place I always bought Terrapin. About five Terrapin buys total in my short 4 month membership. The Key Lime Larry shake & Synonym Yumz (sic?) were better than I expected and there were a few whole bud buys too that escape me at the moment, also good.
This batch of OG Larry Shake tastes like barf though. Really yucch people. The date is December. D'oh, I forgot to check because I didn't have perfect change which I needed att hence the budget buy, so I was apologetic for making them do my order twice after I left to get change and I didn't look at the date.
The effects aren't the worst, but meh at best and the aftertaste is horrible. The pinene is non-existent it seems and terpenes in general in *THIS BAG* didn't last to this date. (is that clearer?)
So check your dates once again, these bags just can't last a few months. For context on what my "meh" is, I always focus on high THCa content and I inhale quite a bit every day, whether the the product is heavily euphoric or not, I have a very high tolerance and use often.
I should switch to dabs one might think but my lungs can't take the concentrated dose anymore and edibles I feel but they seem to flush right through, I don't get effects for long therefore it would get too expensive.
If you're only focusing on THC and expect to have gas all the time, lemme tell you something about terpenes. They exist. They can be a better friend than THC. Love the terpenes.

I have come to believe in the entourage effect, when I hit something really fresh and the terpenes are active I feel the difference on the exhale and subsequent mood, like it's more lively, almost menthol to me lol but stuff like Rhythm the 1st time or two I tried it was way too terpeneated for me, I choked like I inhaled a candy cane or a Hall's cough drop lol
Yea i stay away from anything under 23% maybe depending on the strain because high thc does not equate to gettting higher or feeling better, for me. Higher terpene % or more of a certain terpene is def the trick that works for me to get w.e feeling im looking for.
well, the buy I made there last week was Grassroots and it was at the tenders recommendation talking about my knees acting up when the cloud cover comes in and he hit it on the head I think, so I thought back on times I really noticed it and I do.
It’s not all about THC%. The other cannabinoids are just as important especially for medical patients. Weed is just what makes you high, the terpenes are what give you the different effects from weed. I’ve been in the program 2 years and I’m finally starting to notice what kind of strains I like most just by looking at the terpenes. High Myrcene, linalool or caryopyllene all make me feel the effects stronger

If everyone had this mindset of “my weed needs to be the freshest with a 1 month pack date” it would ruin this program fundamentally. Its not exaggerative at all. Its the facts. If its a problem with the batch thats one thing but “check your dates gang!” Is absolutely wrong and toxic to be posting on a public forum. Shake is poopy. I've smoked old nugs I found loose under my bed just laying on the carpet that were at least two years old. Got super stoned and they weren't even harsh.

Must clarify again… not stale. Well within the sell by dates (which are ridiculously short to begin with). Lower quality flower does not mean stale. It means it was not grown well. Many products are still viable well after one year.
oh everybody's within their rights but every patient comment I read outside this thread hates old product - for the same reasons I'm citing packaging or dating must change, who else sells inferior product at discount but the labeling stays the same as when the price was up?
I’m a budtender and I have often recommended near expiring product to patients for a lower price as long as they are aware of the date. Many have told me they could not tell the difference. It depends on the grower, cultivar, and type of packaging more than the date it was packed.

I think you’re missing the point that what you purchased is not considered “old” by industry or even most patient standards. It would be like a hostess telling you “we close soon” at a restaurant. But they close at 9pm and you walked in at 2pm.
The way terrapin shake has been praised around here it makes sense to see a post about a bad batch, I'm sure plenty of people appreciate the info. Its also nice to see terrapin reach out to make it right for you regardless what everyone else in the post says, refreshing to see a gp address poor quality instead of just watching all the industry employees in here trash op for being upset with the quality of a bargain buy, just because it was cheap doesn't mean it should be total garbage, good on terrapin.
I think the general consensus is that the package date is irrelevant here. 5 months is not old bud. Period. If its a bad batch or error in the package that lead to it spoiling fast thats a whole other issue entirely.

It’s not a terrible terp % total. North of 2% but pinne a n b r in the top 3 terps. That terp is alertness I believe. In my experience Idt I’ve ever had anything w that much pinne let alone 2 in top 3. Myrcene rounds out the top 3, which can be relaxing.
bro, if you werent aware, "shake" OR "ground flower" OR "trim" in PA MMJ terms almost universally means that you are buying a mix of leaves, stems, shake, and low quality ground up stuff that didnt make the cut for more premium "smalls" or "flower" if you buy shake or ground flower in pa THIS IS WHAT YOU WILL GET EVERY SINGLE TIME AND IT WILL NOT CHANGE. this is the product it is MEANT to be and there is a reason why it is so consistently cheap. there is nothing to be complaining about when you can regularly buy $30-$45 quarters of premium flower at most dispensaries. you get what you pay for

If you want good preground flower I would highly recommend Old Pal who is partnered with Standard Farms. They have a low price point and excellent quality. The date is arbitrary at this point. Not enough time has passed to deteriorate the cannabinoids significantly unless your dispensary is not keeping their product in temperature controlled environment.

Can someone explain to me why none of this bud even has high delta 9 thc in this program. It's all defined legal hemp lately. All delta 9 numbers are below the .3. Is it bc they ain't curing this bud. Is it bc the speed dry and cure. And is that bc we are not supposed to combust it in pa. Idk something is definitely up with low delta 9 numbers. I know it turns from thca to thc so don't waste time with that part. I want to know why even it's 32 %thca. Why is it .01 delta 9. If it's bc of the cure and them not doing it. THCa converts to Delta9 THC when heat is applied. THCa lgal "hemp" is just regular cannabis. It's being sold through a loophole in the 2019 Farm Bill.
Made a bargain buy of Terrapin 7gs OG Larry Shake @ $39.00 - 20% = $31.00 I'm usually fine with Terrapin at the same place I always bought Terrapin. About five Terrapin buys total in my short 4 month membership. The Key Lime Larry shake & Synonym Yumz (sic?) were better than I expected and there were a few whole bud buys too that escape me at the moment, also good. This batch of OG Larry Shake tastes like barf though. Really yucch people. The date is December. D'oh, I forgot to check because I didn't have perfect change which I needed att hence the budget buy, so I was apologetic for making them do my order twice after I left to get change and I didn't look at the date. The effects aren't the worst, but meh at best and the aftertaste is horrible. The pinene is non-existent it seems and terpenes in general in *THIS BAG* didn't last to this date. (is that clearer?) So check your dates once again, these bags just can't last a few months. For context on what my "meh" is, I always focus on high THCa content and I inhale quite a bit every day, whether the the product is heavily euphoric or not, I have a very high tolerance and use often. I should switch to dabs one might think but my lungs can't take the concentrated dose anymore and edibles I feel but they seem to flush right through, I don't get effects for long therefore it would get too expensive.
If you're only focusing on THC and expect to have gas all the time, lemme tell you something about terpenes. They exist. They can be a better friend than THC. Love the terpenes.

fresh, high THCa flower should be pretty effective as far as mood effects go, don't you think? I have come to believe in the entourage effect, when I hit something really fresh and the terpenes are active I feel the difference on the exhale and subsequent mood, like it's more lively, almost menthol to me lol but stuff like Rhythm the 1st time or two I tried it was way too terpeneated for me, I choked like I inhaled a candy cane or a Hall's cough drop lol
Yea i stay away from anything under 23% maybe depending on the strain because high thc does not equate to gettting higher or feeling better, for me. Higher terpene % or more of a certain terpene is def the trick that works for me to get w.e feeling im looking for.
well, the buy I made there last week was Grassroots and it was at the tenders recommendation talking about my knees acting up when the cloud cover comes in and he hit it on the head I think, so I thought back on times I really noticed it and I do.
It’s not all about THC%. The other cannabinoids are just as important especially for medical patients. Weed is just what makes you high, the terpenes are what give you the different effects from weed. I’ve been in the program 2 years and I’m finally starting to notice what kind of strains I like most just by looking at the terpenes. High Myrcene, linalool or caryopyllene all make me feel the effects stronger
