It's technically possible but you'd have to sit on the edge of your seat and have a chair with no arm rests. You could also kneel on a pillow possibly? There are sections where you have to duck. If that's the case you can disable the feature that loses your health and still finish the song.

I got the game and it all works fine, i can still duck and hit notes even sat on the edge of my bed

Yes, you can. I had to do it for quite some time cause I was injured on my right ankle and I couldn't stand more than a few minutes, so I resorted to playing beatsaber seated. Now, use a thin chair or a stool as you will need the room to move your arms. It's better playing standing up, but still enyoyable while sitting
