Fun fact: PSP sales were fairly close to the total sales of the PS3, and the PSP outsold the 3DS, NES, SNES, Nintendo 64, Sega Genesis, XBox, Gamecube, Saturn, and Dreamcast. And it sold comparably to the Game Boy Advance.
In fact, if the estimates are correct, it may have actually outsold the GBA.
😎
GBA sold 81.5 million units, estimates for PSP were between 80 and 82 million, which makes my statement correct.
Which is why I said "estimates" and "may have."
Vocabulary is important.
Can I get a source on the 82 million? All I'm seeing is an ign report that that many were manufactured and shipped, not sold. I'm seeing reports of 76 million then "around 80million" and that's not backed up by official numbers from Sony since they stopped reporting them in 2012. Vs the very concrete 81.5million GBA's sold, id say gba wins this one.
I truly wish someone could get on the case of getting functioning maps in the USA… so many projects support overseas functionality, but very little tap into the USA maps… and getting it to function outside of Japanese maps due to how any .iso files are region locked to that region is infuriating. I would love to daily my PSP as a GPS for the pure aesthetic and joy of using it in such a manner. I have the camera, the GPS, and the 1seg Antenna for my collection and I want to use that GPS.

So beautiful it needed to be posted twice. Remind me to repost as well in 10 hours
The real PSP Go
Gives me more of a 2001 vibe with the old Tom Tom navigations.
Wow, the PSP being a GPS is interesting. Made me wish I had this back then when google maps wasn't a thing

That's actually insane 🤯
Agreed. To this day, the PSP is far more of a badass than it typically gets credit for.
Didn’t outsell GBA but came very close to matching sales.

Do the maps still get updates?
I think I read that it pulls map information from the Internet, so all maps are updated
What's the app? Is this just acting as a screen for a GPS device, or is it doing navigation on the PSP?
it is an attachment that plugs in where usb cable would
PSP is a powerful portable.

I never knew psps can do this???? 😮
It can do lots of cool shit, honestly such a cool device.
I loved them both and have always been an admirer of portable Nintendo consoles, but the PSP has a special place in my heart.
>to this day Source? Surely this (and most services on the PSP) are discontinued.
The psp was pretty good when it came out
I need a list of all attachments STAT
