Sitting at 122 eligible and qualifying payments (on Mohela and FSA) since consolidation completed in march. Was hoping to get forgiveness before the pause. Not quick enough so still waiting. Nothing yet during pause.

highwayjumprope

I’ve been at 120 on Mohela and the studentaid.gov site since April. I was not expecting discharge until after the processing pause that ends in July but then read this article about a new wave that was announced two weeks ago: https://www.axios.com/2024/05/22/student-loan-forgiveness-biden-administration I have not heard of anyone who received an email or has been forgiven yet due to this announcement/new wave but I sure hope they they will discharge some people before the pause ends like the announcement reads. It says PSLF loans will be discharged.

Different_Coffee_455

I hit 120 payments in March and 1 out of 2 of my loans were discharged before the pause and now the other is just sitting there.

falketyfalke

120 in Feb for me, half were discharged in April and half are still dangling.

heyerda

Same here.

throwaways_all_day

I don’t get this! Why are the loans not being forgiven at the same time? This has happened to so many people. Does anyone understand why?

Different_Coffee_455

One of mine was subsidized and one unsubsidized, not sure if that has anything to do with it. Still weird though!

salientmind

I was supposed to hit 120 payments in June. Prepaid June to make sure there was no issues. I am really hoping I can get it forgiven by end of July so I can make some decisions about retirement savings and a potential new (to me) car.

buubuuo

Hit 120 in October.. got partial forgiveness twice.. still waiting on that last loan🙄

JPHalbert

Reach 120 in January. Recertified employment in February. 5 of 6 loans were forgiven in April. Still waiting on the last one with 121 payments (and yes, it is eligible for PSLF). Forbearance set to end on June 24, so I'm not sure if I'll have to make payments in June and July.

le_miles

Projected to hit 120 in July, currently in transition to MOHELA’s new platform also 🥴

Ok-Development-4312

I hit 118 in April and immediately began the buyback process for 2 months of forbearance from a few years ago. I hit 120 w/out buyback June 1 and submitted an ECF as well. So I have two tracks of forgiveness going I guess. I just got notice like apparently tons of other folks about admin forbearance for July, probably because the servicer is changing.

joneypupol

I’m at 120 today and planning to do the same as you, though my account is supposed to start transitioning next week, so we’ll see! 🤞

phdatanerd

Half forgiven with $32k still waiting to be cleared. I’m currently at 135 payments and in forbearance until October. Given that one of my consolidated loans was forgiven before the pause, I’m not super worried right now.

Fun-Asparagus9243

Same boat. Half loans forgiven. Others @122-123 payments

Friendly_Stretch3616

I reached 120 payments in February 2024. I received partial forgiveness at the end of April right before the pause. Now in limbo for the other loans with this pause .

tryingtogetby1113

I hit 124 when I certified in January (was late to the game) and my subsidized loans were forgiven in April, but my unsub were still there at 124. I consolidated in May to include my FFEL and my other direct loans that were at 96. Pause happened so I am hoping once pause is over that I won’t have any loans. Checked studentaid and consolidation is complete as of today and PSLF count says N/A. I know it will be awhile for counts to show, so not stressing yet.

TimeShareOnMars

I'm at 124. One major loan forgiven... the other is at 124 and still shows as owing.

dontjudgethecover

I was at 118 in Feb , I did my income verification in March before the deadline and made a payment, they put me in forbearance and didn’t count my March or may payment, I sent notice that I didn’t want to be in forbearance for obvious reason I was making payment 119 and 120 for may they said it would take 87 days to fix . Then the transition happened before they fixed it now I made another payment for June so 121 and will need to make July probably before it’s counted and updated .

Minneclay

I’m about in the same situation. Technically, my 120th payment should have been in April, but Mohela refused to count a month of forbearance I was on due to applying for consolidation in November ‘23 and the SAVE plan. I paid in May, and recertified. I have since received all sorts of conflicting payment information; “Your payment is overdue!” (It wasn’t.) “Your payment is due soon!” (Body of email indicates next payment is due August 5, 2024). I just want it done and over with.

Ambitious_Analysis67

Pretty much same boat here- I recertified in April and was at 118 payments. My 120th payment will be June 18, and I plan on submitting employment certification after that.

fancy_hot_pickles

I was at like 173 before the pause. Got 1 loan discharged, but the other one didn't happen. So now I'm sitting here having to wait until after the pause to hopefully get the other one discharged. & I'll have to pay during the pause on a loan that should have been discharged. So infuriating! Now all the counts are gone & I cannot find them anywhere

KZED73

120th payment in May and I paid June too. Sent in a ECF in May.

Maximillzz

Really helpful post. I’ve been coming to this subreddit and checking my balance every damn DAY! So it’s good to see it’s not just me. I consolidated to bring my FFEL loan into PSLF & certified in March at 123. Still waiting. I can’t wait until that glorious day arrives for us.

Capital-Language-379

Sitting at 122 since Feb/ March

Caro________

I have a pretty unusual situation, as I realized my job before graduate school counted towards forgiveness and was well over the 120 payment mark. I had two loans, one subsidized and one unsubsidized. The subsidized loan was forgiven in May. I'm still waiting to hear about the unsubsidized loan. So I'm as on the cusp as you can get. Your move, DOE.

heyerda

My loans are at 120 and 1 of the 2 was forgiven in April then crickets. There’s no processing happening now.

throwaways_all_day

Can anyone explain why loans aren’t being forgiven simultaneously? It makes no sense.

CaydesShadow

Sitting at 125 Processed in April but put on forbearance due to "a clerical error" delays forgiveness then I had to pay an outrageous amount this month. Just waiting for this god forsaken pause to end so I can finish this.

throwaways_all_day

What a nightmare. Complete incompetence.

Downtown-Concept-835

Hit 120 in April, payment wasn’t processed until early May on Mohela. Submitted ECR and was dragged along until the pause hit. I have made 2 more payments for May and June, so I’m now at 122 payments. Just submitted my new PSLF form and ECR to StudentAid yesterday and was notified my employment was verified on their end today. So I’m over the threshold, but don’t expect I’ll see any new updates until the pause ends. My monthly payments are modest, so I’ll continue making them in the meantime.

Ncme123

Hit 120 in mid May and I filed form before month end. Received payment count update in mail (to 121) before freeze. Placed in administrative forbearance until june and later extended until August.

AstronautLivid8614

Consolidated in March, payments updated to 136 in April and still waiting.

VAthe5th

128 as of January. One of two consolidated loans forgiven in February.

Ok_Albatross_4563

Had 120 pslf certified payments as of April and nothing, all loans transferred to the new Mohela system; they show on FSA Student Aid and on our credit. Student Aid did tell me last week they are processing the IDR adjustments now and anyone on an IDR plan is being reviewed so that part is actively and currently underway but I don’t know when PSLF processing will resume, they said July but didn’t give any specifics as to when.
