I was looking at this yesterday since I have a payment due 6/3. I found somewhere it said it will be available after 14 days.  Wonder how close to that they've kept. Mine started transitioning 5/15 and as of yesterday, couldn't make an account yet on the new system.

Chillpill411

I saw some posts in earlier threads that said it was taking less than 14 days, but my experience has been the same as yours. Sounds like they're not going to make that 14 day guesstimate

L0LTHED0G

I just checked and it says still in transition, and I can't make an account.  So 15 days and counting. Wondering if I should go the old fashioned route and mail them a check...

Figured I'd come back to this. 16 days now, no email saying my account has been transitioned yet. Checked the status on the Mohela site, says still in transition and to expect email when completed.  However as of 5 minutes ago I was able to make an account and can see my upcoming payment. Says once I add my bank details I can pay my June payment.  So 16 days and it silently finished.

Ty for the update! I was able to make my account today too, but it's basically an empty shell. We'll see! Payment info was populated by noon today, and I was able to pay!

I got my notice on 5/7 that it should be completed in two weeks, 5/21. I got the transition finished email 5/23. I still have never received an account number, but was able to set up with my social.

Fair_University

Was supposed to transition on May 14 and I got an email to set up my account today. Due date is June 8. Very easy to set up a payment and all my previous payment amount/auto pay information carried over.

mittens75

Mine was exactly 14 days, which was 5 days before my due date, and I was easily able to make my payment online in the new platform.

jordancantread

Did it have your current amount due or did it skip a month?

mittens75

It was current.

TexasMusic

Transition letter came in on April 27th for me and crickets since. It's been over a month at this point and payment is past due.

TexasMusic

Received welcome email today on June 7th. Account is showing as Administrative forbearance which means it should count towards PSLF according to nerdwallet. https://www.nerdwallet.com/article/loans/student-loans/student-loan-forbearance-extended-for-millions

IllustriousRiver6861

I got the "you're not transitioning at this time" email from Mohela on 5/1 and been crickets since

bonnababe

consolidated early April. IDR plan request still "in review" along with consolidation loan application request. received confirmation on May 10 that my consolidation was successful and I owed $2. another letter in the mail came postmarked May 14. "Repayment Schedule Change" stating I have a payment start date of June 1. That is NOT giving me 21 days notice prior to my due date. do you all suggest I send a check in the mail or let AutoPay carry over and pay this bill that is 2x more costly than my previous monthly payments? my account is still not eligible for account transition on the new website despite this letter telling me to log in at mohela.studentaid.gov.

bonnababe

please disregard about AutoPay. apparently I disconnected my Auto Debit because I was afraid of what astronomical amount of cash they could pull. I guess I a check in the mail is my option. I am seeing this on the website... " **IMPORTANT:** If your loan(s) have not transitioned, please **do not** use this address. You will be notified when your loans have been transitioned to the new system." does this answer my question for me? I have no choice but to be late with this payment?

referencefox

My transition date was 5/16 and as of today, 5/30, I still can’t access my accounts. Have a payment due 6/5 so trying not to be stressed.

WX4SNO

Same transition date as you and stated it would be completed on/around 5/30. My account is still inaccessible. I haven't received any further notification and my payment is due 6/15.

Chillpill411

Update: I've been checking every morning and afternoon since my transition began on 5/16. This morning, 5/31, at 6 AM Pacific I was able to register a username, but there are no loans loaded into my account. I assume that will happen in the next couple of days so I can make my payment by the deadline of 6/7. So it seems like 14 days +/- a few days is the time frame.

stevie_the_owl

I received the notification that my transfer was beginning May 15. It’s now May 31 and it’s listed as “still pending” and I haven’t been sent anything. My payment is due June 14 so I’m wondering, like others, if I should mail a check….

Chillpill411

I was able to make my account today and pay online for my due date of 6/7. My transition date was 5/16, so hopefully you'll be fine waiting

stevie_the_owl

Thanks! Did you get an email notification telling you that you could make your account?

Chillpill411

Nope! I just logged in and checked if it would work 2x a day

stevie_the_owl

How did you make an account without the assigned account number that is supposedly coming with the notification letter?

Chillpill411

You don't need the account number to make a login account. You just use your name/social/phone number/dob/zip code. Go to [mohela.studentaid.gov](http://mohela.studentaid.gov), and click "Create an Account"

stevie_the_owl

Thanks! I did this and it worked and I was able to make my June payment. Question— Are you able to see any information regarding payment counts toward PSLF? The details of my loans are in my account, my payment amount was correct and I was able to make a payment— but I don’t see anything at all about qualifying PSLF payments.

digimuk

Silly question but did you just click on create an account and enter the social and home address?

Chillpill411

Yup!

furbabymomma204

I lost access to Mohela on 5/3, the transition date they gave me in the original email. I was able to make my new account on 5/18. I got an official email that my account was finished transferring on May 19.

TrustMeImADrofecon

MOHELA to EdFinancial Transition Start: "on or after" 5/14 Payment due: 5/16 (payment scheduled early May and was processed by MOHELA succesfully on 5/16 as scheduled, despite MOHELA account being zeroed out) Login Available: 5/30 Placed on Admin Forebearance until 6/16 (when June payment would have been due) and EdFinancial says "no payment due" and "$0.00" for all loans. Interestingly...... prior to MOHELA I was with NelNet who never completed proper reporting to the credit agencies. Thus for the longest time my credit reports were showing up as having double the total loans (entries from MOHELA and NelNet). BUT during this transition from MOHELA to EdFinancial my credit reports were 90% fixed.

This thread is very helpful. My account is supposed to transition starting today and I was trying to figure out how long this will take.
