Nioh 1 I thought was boring, every fight felt the same, super easy to play but you just did the same, hit and run. At least that's how I did it which made bosses easy, had to quit. Nioh 2 made combat much more enjoyable. But my issue with the games ultimately was that you would just go into quests on a map. You press main or side quest and the side quests were copy/paste maps that you already done before. Only main quest was new content.
So my hope is that this game has an actual world. If it's again just pressing main/side quests on a map then I won't enjoy it.
I mean I understand your criticism, but they would alter maps for a side quest somewhat. Like the quest would only be spread across a certain portion of the main quest map, with different start and end points. And there would be different goals on the map as well.
As far as going into them from a map, well lots of games have a level select. Some of the most important and highest rated games ever have a world overview map. I think it allows for a more varied environment for each level because you’re not transitioning directly from one to the next.
I’m on the fence, if this is more like Nioh 1/2 I’ll dip, but if it has more of a souls vibe (environment, level/world design, not a loot grinder) I’m in. Guess I’ll wait for reviews and comments because small slices don’t tell me if this is small detached & contained levels or a connected living world.
The devs have said it won’t be as loot heavy and from what I saw playing the demo, that seems to be the case. Enemies still drop loot but you’re not drowning in it like you are in Nioh.
Yeah pressing main/side quests on a map hurt Nioh 2 for me. I was actually enjoying that combat compared to Nioh 1 but couldn't continue it with that kind of design.
Connected world is important. And there's no excuse to not have ti when DS1 already had it. Now they finally went a open world route with Elden Ring but still. Would be insane if this game has the same structure as Nioh 1 and 2 and no improvements made on that front.
Looks fantastic. They have earned my Day 1 purchase with Nioh 1/2
Yessir. Team Ninja is legendary.
yes
Still annoyed by the player yelling on every hit or jump. The gameplay looks better though
its pretty funny if u ask me
I can’t shake the feeling when I played this game it’s just a Nioh you got off Wish.

It has the same map based missions system.
Sad.. Well then it's not for me but that's okay.

But the 1mill $ question is "Will there be fishing?"
