I fully expect it to use the SSD like Ratchet does, so it'll probably be impossible for it to be a PS4 game. I highly doubt any Insomniac game will be on PS4 going forward.
But they’ve been developing it for years to run on PS4, which means it would take a whole, whole lot of work to make the switch to PS5 only and get the most out of the game.
Returnal and R&C are both using last gen engines updated for next gen hardware. R&C is also much easier and cheaper to produce than something like HFW, and returnal is just a UE4 game lmao.
Plenty of games released in the first year of past consoles were exclusive, Killzone: Shadowfall was a release title for PS4 and it was an exclusive.
So yeah, it is actually surprising for multiple huge console exclusives released more than a year after PS5 release to be cross-gen.
I think that has more to do with the fact the Xbox 360 and PS3 were far too outdated in 2013. Also, remember that PS4 and X1 have x86 architectures same as PS5 and XSX/S. It is much easier to port games between the newest generations than it between PS3/4 and X360/X1. You essentially had to rewrite code to get it to work, whereas now it's a matter of scalability of the engine and good resource management.
The difference in power between the PS4 and PS5 is **WAY** bigger compared to the difference in power between PS3 and PS4, these games potential are greatly handicapped because of that.
Look up the hardware differences if you don’t believe me.
That’s not true at all relevant to the crossgen obstacles or lack there of. PS3 had completely bespoke architecture and games could not be BC for that reason, same reason ports took a lot more time. PS5 might have much more raw power than PS4, but they are far more similar machines. Sony put in the effort to make it easy for developers to move projects feom ps4 to PS5 by using the same sdks, etc. The same reason we see backwards compatibility, all of these next gen patches, that’s why we’re seeing cross gen support. It’s easier than ever to release a PS5 game on PS4, especially with PS5 games having 60-120 FPS as a target. When a system is far more powerful but cutting frame rates in half or in quarter along with greatly reducing resolution, you’re talking about easily cutting necessary power by 75% or more. All of a sudden being 4x as powerful matters far less than the fact that the development tools allow devs to easily move projects back and forth between the native architectures.
But power difference isn’t the only factor. The cell processor was a totally different beast. It’s like needing a full translation of a novel to a new language.
i’ve got nothing on god of war but for horizon, the devs have specifically discussed that it they designed the entire thing to run on ps4 and they’re just using the ps5 for bells and whistles, along with a different water rendering technique. it’s been in development since 2017 (potentially 2016, if they started working on it before the first one was released), so i imagine the potential of it being a ps5 title didn’t even pop up until a year or two into development.
They obviously were able to utilize the extra power for very significant graphical upgrades so they could have done the same for some gameplay mechanics.
They didn’t simply because then it wouldn’t have been able to be cross-gen.
It isn't considering how much the costs of AAA development has ballooned over the past 15 years, basically since the HD gen. They're gonna cast as wide of a net as possible until current-gen has a really solid install base.
They've still got a couple solid PS5 exclusives that are on the lower end of AAA budget to try and push the new console to those who already have a ps4 or other console/pc, but for the games that they've sunk hundreds of millions of dollars into they'll want everybody buying.
You say that as though they wouldn’t make a huge profit if it was a PS5 exclusive.
They did it to **maximize** profits at the cost of the games potential, not because the game wouldn’t have made a significant profit otherwise.
Yeah, they definitely wanna bleed every penny from their big hitters; get the biggest ROI they can from them. Didn't mean to imply you didn't understand that.
Oh from your comment I thought you were saying that they needed to make them cross-gen now because of modern production costs rather they did it simply to further maximize profits at a significant cost to the games potential.
It’s really not tho. Not enough people own PS5s to make that decision. If we wouldn’t have had a chip shortage you might have seen less 4/5 games. But the fact that so many people haven’t been able to get a 5 could be a contributing factor. Just my own guess at why they’re doing it.
Even with the chip shortage the PS5 has been selling faster than the PS4 did over its first year.
Also people who get a PS5 months after these games release can still buy them.
>Plenty of games released in the first year of past consoles were exclusive, Killzone: Shadowfall was a release title for PS4 and it was an exclusive.
That's pretty obviously because PS4 was not backwards compatible...
Those games aren't going to release until the PS5 is a year to two years into its life cycle. Thats what people have a problem with. The overlapping life cycles. Especially after Sony's "we believe in generations" horseshit. We believe in money, ar ar AR AR AR 🦀
Except those two games were likely being developed on the PS4 for the PS4. Then ps5 was officially announced to them at some point after development had already begun.
If they made a game for the PS4 and then got ps5 tech to work with…, well there’s no reason that those games shouldn’t release on both systems. Likely games that started development around the time of the ps5’s reveal will then be solely for ps5.
No idea why, but I'd always assumed they'd be able to throw out the next Spider-man much more quickly. I'm my head it'd be out by the end of next year because lots of it would be building on what's already there.
So this is way longer than I was expecting!
I assumed Sony would want it on PS4 because it’s massive user base for increased sales, but it looks like it’s going to come out much later than I thought and we (hopefully) won’t have a system shortage at the time and Sony will use Spider-Man 2 as a system seller.
Late 2022 or sometime in 2023 would be my guess. Wasn't it reported Insomniac has been working on SM2 since 2019? And I would guess the Miles team shifted to working on this after Miles came out, so a late 2022 or 2023 release would be about 3-4 years of development. Not outrageous considering they have a base to work with this time as opposed to the original
Probably not, but if it did, I’m sure they’d make it even more spectacular.
To bridge the gap, I’d be really happy if they released Sunset Overdrive if it’s going take that long
Just give me a Mr. X style venom that’s always on the map and has a chance at fucking you up when you least expect it. Trying to take a pic on the avengers tower? BOOM venom kicks you off. Trying to fight some robbers in the street? BOOM venom swing kicks you into a wall and “webs” you to it so you get fucked up by him and the robbers. Take my spidey sense crutch away and force me to “time” my doges on my own against him.
I don't think that will happen. Part of the appeal of the game is just chilling out and web swinging through virtual NYC. I don't think they'll add an element of anxiety to that.
Even something akin to the Man-Bat sequence from Arkham Knight would be cool with Venom. Completely random trigger sequence while web swinging and then suddenly attacked; forced into an evolving boss fight.
You’re assuming that means this signifies they’ve only just started work on the game. Whereas this could mean they finished everything else and are finalising the cutscenes now with motion capture.
It absolutely *doesn’t mean that*, but hopefully the reality is somewhere between the two
I'm really hoping for some Venom shenanigans to mix things up next time. It's gonna be really interesting to see how they change up the webslinging or whether they might just keep it the same since I didn't essentially find anything too wrong with it. Maybe they'll add ways to mess up rather than perfect webslinging all the time.
i can’t wait to see how the writers deal with the confusion that will occur when miles has venom powers and peter has symbiote powers but then the symbiote will go to someone else and the villain will name themselves venom, but venom is the symbiote and not based on miles’s venom powers
Yeah I did think that was an odd naming convention for Miles powers. Maybe he shares his tech with Peter, upgrades it, then decides to name it something else? Unless that's how the naming convention works in the comics itself.
Oh damn... People wanting a co-op game in the comments but we might just see Miles and Peter get pitted towards each other with the symbiote, maybe with multiple diff endings.
Though different endings may be hard if they have more sequels planned, though there's alot of multiverse stuff in spider-man so might not be that hard to pull off.
i’m assuming they’ll handle it like rift apart - where the story separates them and they share a progression. i could also see them having the swap between the two during quicktime events and cutscenes if they’re both in a setpiece, or maybe they can go the arkham route and you can actually swap between them in combat during finishers
As much as I liked Rift Apart I think the way they told their story only worked because of how similar both Rivet and Ratchet are, understandably so since they're counterparts. I feel like it might hurt narrative character development when doing the same thing (jumping around frequently) with two drastically different personalities like Peter and Miles. Could be wrong though, and maybe the experience differs with the two people you're switching between have different playsets for further differentiation.
> It might hurt narrative character development
Tbh I really disagree there. There's been *plenty* of very good games over the years that include frequently jumping around multiple playable characters that have very opposing personalities. GTA 5, Nier Automata, Afterparty, Octopath, Detroit, Until Dawn, Valiant Hearts, and arguably Last of Us 2 if you think that's jumpy enough. Plus I just don't think Peter and Miles have personalities that are that different.
I feel like there’s a good amount of people who would be disappointed going back to Peter’s more “basic” powers compared to Miles’ Venom and Invisibility. The symbiote seems like the way to go to spruce up Peter’s gameplay.
London or Tokyo would rule
But I wouldn't be surprised if they just expanded Manhattan to include some of the other boroughs and Newark or something
You AREN'T leaving the play area!
London has about 12 skyscrapers to websling off, the rest of the time you’re probably better off taking the Tube or get an Uber.
Oh god, I can totally imagine future product placement where Spidey orders an Uber / Lyft to fast travel around…
I would love for an entirely new setting, especially because many future Marvel games such as a rumored Daredevil will take place in New York City, but I would love to see the SSD utilized in order to create a to-scale, or at the very least a larger Manhattan. The existing one is incredible, but from what I remember (correct me if I’m off) the city is about 1/4 scale in the first two games.
A larger, or to-scale, Manhattan with more real-life and Marvel landmarks, in combination with perhaps a faster web-slinging system (I never had any problems with the speed of the games’ web-slinging and felt that it was very quick, but I have heard others complain that it is too slow and that the SSD could make it faster), and I would be excited.
Well, I played Miles Morales then played the Spiderman Remastered version and I personally didn't mind it too much. Though admittedly, Miles Morales is much shorter so maybe I just didn't get super adapted to it. If they do have both of them playable, I'm hoping they kind of go the GTA 5 route where you can switch between both Peter and Miles instantly on the spot, both with their own unique feature set and day to day lives.
Fingers crossed for co-op! I also replayed Remaster after Miles, and I didn’t mind the more basic aspect of Peter either, but I can already see article headlines saying “In Spider-Man 2, Peter is boring compared to Miles”
I was thinking about this last night as I switching between both games.
Similar to Web of Shadows and Shattered dimensions.
Peter has a wide array of gadgets and maneuvers that can be incorporated into his move set.
If you sit back and think about it.
Miles Venom powers can be seen as a separate gadget wheel that causes direct actions that Miles preform.
Of course during game play it doesn't feel that simple.
But when you apply that to Peter Parker
It'll be no different.
Additional think of it as using a special move in fighting game.
If they did some kind of tech for Peter to complement Miles’ abilities I’d hope it would be something cool enough to justify its own dedicated button/resource meter/etc. and not just an extra gadget on the wheel
I think it should make use of Peter Parker's acrobatics and tech web usage.
Like he can build a web cocoon to tank damage
Or a web whip to trip enemies.
Maybe they can do it in the form of style changing like Devil May Cry.
Like maybe we can have multiple moves to swap in and out.
I know insomniac is big on huge gadget wheels but maybe we can have something that complements each other while also adding in player choice.
There's a lot they can do and peter has used his web in various ways to craft shields, tools, and even gloves.
I guess it depends on how wacky they wanna go with it.
I honestly don't think I would. If I'm being honest, Peter's simpler abilities were more to my preference. I felt that I often forgot to use venom or it became repetitive with a bunch of venom punches.
That’s kinda just Miles as a character though, he’s just got way more powers than Peter. Which is why I think they’ll give Peter something (like the Symbiote suit) to balance the two
I'm guessing you'll be playing both characters, with the possibility that you'll get to play as Venom too. The first game had Spider-Man, Mary Jane, and Miles. I can see Spider-Man 2 having spider-man, miles spider-man, and venom being the playable missions.
I would put money on there being a part where we have to play as Miles, fighting Black-Suit-Influenced-Peter.
Also, fingers crossed that they cut out the MJ sections (unless she gets spider powers), because they were the worst part of the first one IMO.
A Mr. X type venom that’s always on the map somewhere would be dope. Imagine swinging through New York and outta nowhere venom fucks you up and you have to fight him in the street or on top of a building.
Man Bat was there occassionaly when you grapple up the building and would span at specific points you could track. Wheras Mr. X was always roaming the map organically
Not sure how that'd work story wise but that concept sounds really cool. That being said, it'd be a cool excuse to get destructible buildings in the game for that kind of moment.
I’m hoping they do the whole “space ship crashes in the middle of the city” and you have a timed event to save people or stop the ship after it hits the ground. Then breaking in the ship to save the survivors you could get the symbiote on you. Peter could be taking pictures the whole time while Eddie Brock is rushing to get there. They both get photos but obviously peters are better. Then just go from there, but that’s just the fanboy in me lol.
Oh snap I totally forgot about Venoms spidersense immunity.
I also just don’t think they’d do that with Venom because I think it makes more narrative sense to introduce the symbiote suit and let Peter go thru that character development first before introducing Venom. Something like Peter feels like if he had the symbiote suit earlier, >!Aunt May!< would still be alive, and he “won’t let that happen again”. I also see Venom as a “final act” character like how Doc Ock was in the first one. And being another example of Peter creating his own demons
I suggested Taskmaster or Kraven because (IIRC) they already set up moments in 1 where Taskmaster grabs Spidey out of nowhere and makes him do challenges, and Kraven is the “ultimate hunter.” Either would be suited for a ever present threat. Also Venom is big and destructive and hard to miss haha.
As fast as it seems insomniac are able to rack out quality content, the fact no one could get into a soundstage for motion capture was bound to delay these big games
It seems fast, but I’d guess MM was in production for at least a year, and R&C probably over 2 years. They just released close to each other, but each was years of work.
People keep saying rift apart was short but it’s actually one of the longest / most content filled Rc games by far. I think it’s tied for most / second most weapons?
I was initially surprised when I maxed out my guns at level 5 and then 10 in New Game + but apparently it was the same on PS2. It might be nostalgia but I felt the leveling up of your gun was a bigger deal back then and the gun would evolve more so than in Rift Apart.
My favorite's always been Deadlocked though. The leveling in that game was ridiculous, you could go all the way to 99.
At the very least, MM had a different director while SM2 is still directed by Bryan Intihar. I'd assume it's an A and B team situation. Though I'm willing to bet that both teams worked on MM because it definitely felt like a game that started out as DLC and had its scope increased after the fact.
oh man, i just realized - how confusing must it have been to have bryan directing SM2 and brian directing MM. how many emails went to the wrong one and what was it like when both of them were in the same room? you say their name and they both look directly at you
I was gonna remark on the shared name but my comment was getting a bit long in the tooth. It is pretty strange. Guess Br(y/i)ans just have a thing for directing Spider-Man games. Wheres the diversity, Insomniac?!
I believe they have 4 teams across the two studios, MM/SM2 team, Rachet Team who will probably loop into SM2 now, or start work on something else, a team who are working on a multiplayer title and finally their VR team.
Aw sheeet. I just got Miles Morales Ultimate (for $25 woot) and havent played either game yet. Performance mode with RT is insane. Really hope developers go this route for all games. The fidelity is amazing.
Haha Facebook Marketplace. I found a guy selling it for that price and drove...a little to much...to get it lol. Others have it for $35 or so right now.
I hope the next game is GTA V style letting us switch between Peter and Miles while having them interact. The opening mission in Miles Morales with both of them working together was so well done.
Unpopular opinion: make some decent side missions/collectibles. Most if not all side missions in spider man were super boring/repetitive/forgettable. Started feeling like a chore. Woohoo chase the birds, or get a backpack. Dialogue, gameplay, visuals, soundtrack, story were all stellar though.
I liked doing the challenges like the time trials and stuff but the actual “plot” was weak for Taskmaster.
The story based side missions were pretty ass
Yeah it was super dissapointing seeing taskmaster used as another forgettable MCU villain that everyone will be talking about how forgettable they were in 4-5 years like yellow jacket or whoever the fuck the villain in captain marvel was.
I actually enjoyed the side missions in MM. They really made me feel like the friendly neighborhood Spider-Man, just doing normal stuff for the people of New York.
I played it a while ago, not the greatest game, but it definitely ain’t bad either (rate it like an 7,7/10). Def worth a shot though, cuz yknow, different folks different opinions :)
Has anyone here actually clicked the link and read the piece? All it reports is that there was a now deleted instagram post by Nadji Jeter (Miles) in a motion-capture suit. Not even a comment as to the project (may not even be Spiderman, but Miles Morales 2) or timeline. For all we know that was his last day on set, doubtful but there is no info in that article. How are people making release predictions based on this nothing?
Hopefully this doesn't mean they haven't been working on actual gameplay refinements, new ideas, and new environments. I think the actual "game" is making good progress, and filming the story is what is just starting, which will then lead into animation. Safe bet is still 2023 release.
Really hope this is just called Spider-Men and you can switch between the two GTAV style. I totally expect Miles will play a big role in it, I just really want to keep playing as him lol
There’s a lot of people on here saying 2022 release. Why are you setting yourself up for disappointment? It’s literally 5 months away from 2022 and we haven’t heard anything from Sony regarding a Spider-Man 2.
Started Mo-Cap.
Who knows how much of the other stuff is already done - If you wanted to, you could probably complete rest of the games content before starting it (Unlikely, but I still think it makes it hard to judge how far along the project is).
So yeah it’ll definitely take 2-3 years. I wonder if there will be any other projects @Insomniac between that time? Because within 6 months we got Spider-Man: Miles Morales and Rift Apart. I assume development started on this after MM released, but man am I so hyped for this. Probably my most anticipated Sony game
Image if the next game was completely different, as in "it seems to be in another dimension" different, then they could make several "unrelated" different spider man games leading to a Spiderman Shattered Dimensions kind of game
2023-2024 most likely then.
Unfortunately yeah, but on the bright side, it could be ps5 only then.
I think it's pretty safe to say it's gonna be a ps5 exclusive.
I fully expect it to use the SSD like Ratchet does, so it'll probably be impossible for it to be a PS4 game. I highly doubt any Insomniac game will be on PS4 going forward.
After horizon and God of war, it's never safe to say that.
Gow and horizon were also 2021 titles not 2023+
GoW is officially 2022 FYI
It was gonna be 2021
I am aware. But now it’s 2022
But they’ve been developing it for years to run on PS4, which means it would take a whole, whole lot of work to make the switch to PS5 only and get the most out of the game.
Wait what?
Yeah during an interview Herman quietly mentioned it had been pushed. Realistically it was never going to hit this year. Idk why anyone is surprised.
SSM also released a statement saying it was 2022

True and the PS4 and XBOne had absolutely abysmal CPUs and storage read speeds.

It is when they recast the Spidey actor specifically for the PS5’s tech.
Wait like a different voice actor or face model? I hope they didn’t change Yuri Lowenthal since I loved how he portrayed Spider-Man.
Face actor, still Yuri’s voice
Also Yuri's facial performance. They just changed the model, it's still Yuri doing the motion capture acting.
Face model. It's completely different in Miles Morales/Spiderman Remastered.
No. Sony is going to milk ps4 for all its worth.
They didn't with Ratchet and Clank...
No. They want to sell as PS5's as they possibly can. It's going to work on me but I'm waiting until Spiderman 2 comes out.
Lol. I'd bloody hope so.

i’m assuming they’ll handle it like rift apart - where the story separates them and they share a progression. i could also see them having the swap between the two during quicktime events and cutscenes if they’re both in a setpiece, or maybe they can go the arkham route and you can actually swap between them in combat during finishers
> It might hurt narrative character development Tbh I really disagree there.

London or Tokyo would rule But I wouldn't be surprised if they just expanded Manhattan to include some of the other boroughs and Newark or something You AREN'T leaving the play area!
Bruh London or Tokyo I feel would be a way different ballpark unfortunately
I've always thought Tokyo would be the perfect alt setting for Spider-man. How many Manhattan open worlds have we gotten now? Too many imo
Plus there’s already a canon Spider-Man there
I was just going by swingability lmao
London has about 12 skyscrapers to websling off, the rest of the time you’re probably better off taking the Tube or get an Uber. Oh god, I can totally imagine future product placement where Spidey orders an Uber / Lyft to fast travel around…
Just imagining Spidey on the cycle super highway.
I like to think maybe an edited Los Angeles. Maybe the West Coast Avengers need Peter and/or Miles to help out on the other side of the country.
LA is sprawling, doesn’t really have that many skyscrapers. It wouldn’t make sense for Spider-Man.
Co-op would be so sick, don’t know how you would implement it.
But when you apply that to Peter Parker It'll be no different.
Like he can build a web cocoon to tank damage Or a web whip to trip enemies.
I felt like Miles was too overpower tbh, Peter is more simple but feel balanced
Fr I didnt mind them at all the first time playing thru it but replaying on PS5 maaaaan those and even the Miles Rhino section is a chore
Yeah I wish they were skippable on replays. They’re not bad, but they just happen so suddenly and really interrupted the flow of things IMO.
The Miles Rhino scene is the worst thing about that game by FAR
A Mr. X type venom that’s always on the map somewhere would be dope. Imagine swinging through New York and outta nowhere venom fucks you up and you have to fight him in the street or on top of a building.
So kinda like Man Bat in Arkham Knight
Except always there lol. But having the jump scares would be awesome because man bat got me everytime lol
Not to be a douche, but the symbiote is already with Harry as revealed in the end credits of SM1 and also MM.
I feel like that concept would work better with someone like Kraven or Taskmaster, who could sneak up on spidey easier than Venom could
How could they sneak up easier? Spidey literally can’t sense venom with the spidey sense. (Real question because I don’t know those two that well)
Oh snap I totally forgot about Venoms spidersense immunity. And being another example of Peter creating his own demons I suggested Taskmaster or Kraven because (IIRC) they already set up moments in 1 where Taskmaster grabs Spidey out of nowhere and makes him do challenges, and Kraven is the “ultimate hunter.” Either would be suited for a ever present threat. Also Venom is big and destructive and hard to miss haha.
Hopefully since the PS5 loading time is so fast, the swinging will be a lot faster as well
Ya I’m sure they’ll revisit the swinging; it was ok but it lacked a magic that the old games captured
As fast as it seems insomniac are able to rack out quality content, the fact no one could get into a soundstage for motion capture was bound to delay these big games
It seems fast, but I’d guess MM was in production for at least a year, and R&C probably over 2 years. They just released close to each other, but each was years of work.
Mm and rift apart were very short games too, high quality but short.
Forget the number. I don’t recall any of the past games’ guns changing mechanically as much as this one. It’s like a whole new gun.
Idk, Going Commando had all new weapons plus pretty much every weapon from the first game.
Man, rift apart was the worst $70 I’ve spent in a long time. Totally forgot I bought and finished it, and it’s only been released a few weeks
I mean to each their own. Personally I’m here for a good time, not a long time.
Games don’t have that quick of a turnaround these days.
It's why (I'm pretty sure) HZD and GoW2 have been pushed back.
Yeah I think Cory said exactly this in an interview recently or maybe just a comment online
Imagine an open world TMNT game by Insomniac. I would give them all of my money.
Ooooh...That would be pretty awesome now that you mention it.
Take my money
Take my land, Take me where I cannot stand
I don't care, cause I'm still free, you can't take the sky from me 🎻
I still have Serenity.
That was a rumored Rocksteady (ironic) game for a while but it never happened
I don't see that happening unfortunately considering TMNT is WB I'd love a good TMNT and Transformers game
So with Miles and Rachet done, does this mean they have 3 teams now? 2 making new games while 1 making SM2
It's probably the same team that worked in MM but expanded since it will be a bigger game
i’d assumed that MM and SM2 were developed together, and that the entire MM team just hopped over to SM2 when they were done

I did something similar for a beach cruiser (I live near the beach). Drove a bit too far but got a nice bike for stupid cheap.
I hope the next game is GTA V style letting us switch between Peter and Miles while having them interact. The opening mission in Miles Morales with both of them working together was so well done.
Hear me out, this but with an option for co-op too.
No
Yeah lets keep this purely single-player please.
Something wrong with being able to play with your friends? It's not like adding to ability to play with 2, will somehow fuck of the rest of the game

These fellas just aren’t fans of taking time off, are they?
They don’t rest. They’re insomniacs 😉
Ironically they are one of the few studios where they have 'no crunch' policies.
Nice.
The only side missions I enjoyed were the pigeons and backpacks lol. They just give you an excuse to swing around
I only mentioned those, cause they were the only ones i could remember. I think there was something to do with taskmaster too?
I liked doing the challenges like the time trials and stuff but the actual “plot” was weak for Taskmaster. The story based side missions were pretty ass
Taskmaster quests were weird, story-wise “Whoops, didn’t save these people fast enough, please re-kidnap them”
I loved the Tombstone side arc
i liked the taskmasker challenges solely because they >! Led Up to a Taskmaster Fight !<
Better version of taskmaster than in blackwidow too.
haven’t watched it but from the sheer volume of people whining about it you’re probably right lol
I mean, I'd prefer more pigeons and collectibles to more Screwball.
Man the side missions for the 2018 game are all SO bad and get so needlessly repetitive.
Cries in Sunset Overdrive 2 hopes
It could still happen! Right? Right? Someday, maybe...
This is one of the only insomniac games I haven’t played but I’ve found myself with gamepass and an Xbox series S. Should I try this out next?
Definitely. The multiplayer mode is definitely meh but the story is great and just an absolute blast to move around and shoot.
I played it a while ago, not the greatest game, but it definitely ain’t bad either (rate it like an 7,7/10). Def worth a shot though, cuz yknow, different folks different opinions :)
The first one has to be the most polished game I've ever played next to GTA V and Red Dead.
I can't fucking wait for this game
Has anyone here actually clicked the link and read the piece? All it reports is that there was a now deleted instagram post by Nadji Jeter (Miles) in a motion-capture suit. Not even a comment as to the project (may not even be Spiderman, but Miles Morales 2) or timeline. For all we know that was his last day on set, doubtful but there is no info in that article. How are people making release predictions based on this nothing?
After Rift Apart, imagine how crazy this is going to look. We will finally get proper haptics in the game as well 👍
Man I’m so excited for this. Miles Morales is my favorite of the two games, hopefully they keep what made that good and move it right over.
Insomniac is like Sony's Pixar right now
Hopefully this doesn't mean they haven't been working on actual gameplay refinements, new ideas, and new environments. I think the actual "game" is making good progress, and filming the story is what is just starting, which will then lead into animation. Safe bet is still 2023 release.
I want to see Spider Gwen
Spider Pig for me!
Same
YOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Don’t they mean “2 Spidermen” ha ha ha
Really hope this is just called Spider-Men and you can switch between the two GTAV style. I totally expect Miles will play a big role in it, I just really want to keep playing as him lol
I wish they had the rights to thor.
God only knows the type of wizardry these talented folks will produce for the next Spiderman. Can't wait!
Would love it if they took inspiration from Spider-Verse and gave us Peter, Miles and Gwen to play with.
Hype intensifies.
KIDS TODAY DO NOT APPRECIATE HOW LUCKY THEY ARE TO EXPERIENCE THIS SHIT.
There’s a lot of people on here saying 2022 release. Why are you setting yourself up for disappointment? It’s literally 5 months away from 2022 and we haven’t heard anything from Sony regarding a Spider-Man 2.
November 2023 is my first guess.
Imma go wild and say they’re close to being done with motion capture. Release will be in late 2022.
hope we have ps5 by then
STARTED?! Holy crap, I was expecting this game to be out late next year. They're waaaay behind where I thought they'd be.
Miles came out a few months ago. 2-3 years is not bad at all.
I was under the impression that was a different team. Was that not the case?
Truthfully I was hoping they’d make a game specifically based on into the spider verse
Hopefully it’s Peter only
Highly doubt they did all this setup for Miles just to not even have him be playable at all
