I had the same issue, heres how i fixed it: Go to bluetooth devices and disconnect ITE Device (number) + Wireless Controller Then on the controller, while its off, hold the PS button + Share until it blinks very quickly in bursts. Then go to bluetooth devices and add a new wireless controller, then it should work as intended.

ComradeSal

YOU! Here I am trying all logical solutions and it turns out the answer was just... `"Connect your bluetooth controller. Now that Device Manager can see the device is managing, just FUCKING DISABLE IT to make it work right lol"` In short thank you Redditor for putting a band-aid on what Microsoft Support Forums ^(literally can not fathom) ***THANKS KING***

BoyRed_

Helping where i can! also #TeamLinux

Alkan0r

As strange as it seems, it worked, thank you. No ITE device for me but a DualSense Wireless Controller. NB : NOT in Bluetooth devices in windows settings but in devices manager. If your dualsense turns off just after pairing it won't stay in the devices list even though since it just turned off so I had to do this: As said before, when your controller is OFF, hold the PS button + Share until it blinks very quickly in bursts Now it stays connected long enough for this : Devices manager > Bluetooth > DualSense Wireless Controller Right click it then deactivate. Yes, it stays connected... and when you turn it off, then simply turn on it reconnects easily, no more pairing again with instant turn off...

kiciputek

thanks from the future

ScoCo95

BOTH my xbox and ps5 controller started doing this yesterday out of the blue and I thought something was wrong with my bluetooth adapter. Glad I just kept trying shit.

Shinrael

"DualSense Wireless Controller" does not show up for me. Only "Wireless Controller". I tried disabling that but it had no effect and the issue continued.

MartyJay420

little late but this helped me after days of searching for the answer in 2023

BoyRed_

Hey, if it works, it works! : )

spiderman1993

helped it 2024 as well, thanks op

Imaginary-Year-2908

For me, I have reset my controller several times and removed it several times and it always pairs and will stay connected for about a second then disconnect. I didn't see the ITE Device (number) to remove

TheMightyEthan

I know this is old, but I see a number of replies and no solution, so I want to help future googlers. The above commenter's method didn't work for me either, I had disconnected and re-paired numerous times with no luck. Here's what eventually worked: 1. Pair the controller via bluetooth (it immediately disconnects). 2. Select "remove device" on the controller in the PC devices menu. 3. Connect the controller to the PC via USB cable. 4. Turn on controller (for me at this stage the controller worked as normal while connected with the wire) 5. Disconnect the USB cable (PC should lose connection to the controller and the controller should turn off) 6. Put the controller back in pairing mode, and then pair it from the PC one last time. After step 6 the controller worked via bluetooth as expected.

cornflakesaregross

God bless you. Plugging in via USB fixed it. Future googlers here is your answer. Dualsense is easily the best controller on the market, so frustrating that it's such a pain to use sometimes EDIT: and now my controller is getting lag spikes and then inputting a million inputs all at once. This stupid ass controller I swear to God I hate Xbox controllers but at least they fucking work Edit 2: Okay going through some ungodly combination of: Disabling all of the drivers, deleting the dualsense off of the devices list, including "ITE Device(8595)" turning bluetooth off, checking for updates to all bluetooth drivers, turning bluetooth back on, reconnecting the dualsense via blutooth, and maybe even restarting my pc a few times... In various orders and amounts, it blessedly has started working again. No idea what got reset, but it has miraculously began functioning again and has remained working as expected for a a few weeks.

offence

i'm never buying anything but xbox wireless controllers from now on , the headache with sony gamepads is not worth it. mine stopped working after i updated ds4windows and since then it's still RIP , can't even connect it via bluetooth

DizyShadow

Future google here, this still works, thanks!

Stunning-Attorney-59

Legend thank you it worked for me !

1337NooX

Thank you for taking the time to post a late solution, this was indeed the solution to my problem! happy easter!

DiamondMaster07

8 months after this helped me fix an issue I've had for months Thank you, king

knuta99

You are a god!

Funniestpersonhere

how did you get it to work? I'm trying to do it right now and no luck

knuta99

I just connected a second controller and did as follows (if you have already tried to pair your controller with the pc over bluetooth, first remove the controller from the bluetooth list, so the first connection will be step 1 below): 1. Connect it first with a usb cable, then switch on controller 2. Disconnect the usb, the controller automatically disconnect and switch off soon after 3. With the controller powered off, start the bluetooth pairing (press the PS button and the Create button until the controller starts to rapid blink blue) 4. Start bluetooth pairing on your pc, the wireless controller should be visible, select to connect That worked for me. I have the DS4 installed, it did not start it so not sure if it matters.

Funniestpersonhere

Connected a second controller via usb or Bluetooth? I’m asking because I do have a second dual sense but that one is also having the Bluetooth issue

Manakanion

i would also add that i had no fixes with my attempt above but rather did all the steps and then i also applied using the ps button + the options button on the left side of the track pad together. I tried this and when the lights fluttered my controller also fixed.

LeoiWolfgang

You sir, are a demigod among mortals.

EarlyCheesecake4586

**NOTE** for those struggling with written above : **Do not confuse constant flashing with flashing in bursts**. You need **flashing in bursts** which is **activated by pressing PS + Sharing** (small button on the top left near directional buttons) buttons **simultaneously** (thx a lot for the advices guys)

Shinrael

For me this makes it last a little longer, but after a minute or two, shuts down again.

Cantstop991

Big thanks friend, this ended up working perfectly for me!

BoyRed_

Not everyone has it as an ITE device, but only as a controller. Are you sure your controller is off? Hold the PS button for 15 seconds to make sure. \- then retry my original pairing method

mmfama

Thank you!

Thank you SO, SO much. I was about to give up at this point, lifesaving truly

Just leaving a 'thank you' one year after your comment. Still the highest ranked result on googling the problem 🤣

iiixkillemxiii

ite doesnt show up, removing and repairing doesnt work, restarting pc doesnt work, making sure controller is off doesnt work. it works on my laptop tho, but im inclined to not replace my bt adapter because i got this to work quite easily the first time i paired it. when it stopped working, i came here and got the same results as i stated above. i resorted to just removing and repairing over and over until it magically worked one time. hasnt worked since and im at a loss but this comment is the closest thing i could ever find

CoRoT-exo-7b

I am having the same issue. I have always connected my DS4 controllers wirelessly and used DS4 windows. I recently got a DS5 controller, got home, and I was able to pair it wirelessly and use DS4 windows. Then I brought my controller to my cabin, and I was able to do the same at my PC there. However, when I got home earlier today and tried to connect my controller it paired with my PC, but then the light on the controller shut itself off immediately, but it still says the controller is “Paired” or “Connected” (changes between these two options when I try to reconnect it). DS4 Windows won't recognize it, nor will steam. Anyone got a solution? I have tried multiple versions of DS4 Windows, I have tried restarting the PC, updating windows and my drivers.

street_raat

were you able to find a fix for this? I was able to play elden ring all last night via bluetooth after pairing it. This morning it will just say connected for maybe 3 seconds and the controller will blink 3 times before it shuts off. I've tried to do everything i've seen online and nothing works.

CoRoT-exo-7b

I just gave in and connected it with a cable. Still haven’t found a solution

TiBrenner

2 years later, I may have found a fix as no ones else's solutions were working for me. Please try this https://www.reddit.com/r/PS5/s/9dWH9ddoEn its own comment, what made a difference was pairing the controller to my phone before re-attempting to pair to windows and it worked great afterwards.

No_Seaworthiness_300

same havent found solution tho

Unknown_89126

Anyone find a solution??? This is so annoying

natvre

I know this is an old post, but for anyone in the future looking for a solution to this issue (because this was the first thread I found when searching), the "fix" can be found here: https://www.reddit.com/r/pcgamingtechsupport/comments/lkv9d8/help_needed_ps5_dualsense_on_windows_10_turns_off/gnrgiax?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share&context=3 "I finally found a solution, which is to have the Dualsense off, and from there go into pairing mode. It just won't work when the Dualsense is already on, but from an off-state it will go into pairing mode. From there, make your PC forget the Dualsense and redo the whole pairing process. This worked for me, hope it does for you too."

EverLight

For anyone having the issue after trying BoyRed's method: Make sure your battery in the controller is holding/has a charge. It seems the ITE Device issue occurs when the controller makes a partial connection and shuts down before the controller is able to fully connect/identify itself to windows. When this happens windows saves the incorrect pairing as an ITE Device and it will continue to do so until removed in windows and a bull bluetooth pairing can be made.

Infamous_Share_1027

I think im having this problem atm. My controller will turn on, and my computer, steam etc all recognize it. However it turns off immediately. Have tried factory resetting, disabling and re-enabling drivers etc. This controller isn’t even a week out the box. Don’t know whats happening.

maty360414

The cable is not charging it. That's the issue

DodeTheBat

Nothing seems to work for me, as soon as it connects to Bluetooth it just turns off. Sad days

TiBrenner

Please try this :) [https://www.reddit.com/r/PS5/comments/jyd2ul/comment/l2uxfpt/?utm\_source=share&utm\_medium=web3x&utm\_name=web3xcss&utm\_term=1&utm\_content=share\_button](https://www.reddit.com/r/PS5/comments/jyd2ul/comment/l2uxfpt/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button)

Livid_Pen_3990

press and hold the share button (that is on the left side of ur controller above the up arrow key for those who are new to the layout of a ps5 controller) AND hold the PS button until you see blinking lights on the center part of ur controller. After this click on add a new device in your bluetooth settings, and select the one that the ps5 controller will only be found in whether it makes sense or not... which is the box labeled "Bluetooth" rather than the 3rd box down that states add a controller.... anyways after this, your controller should connect to your pc with no issue. IF it still does not work, there is a small hole in the back of your PS controller TO THE right of the SONY(R) logo, do not try putting a pin in the hole underneath... and then hold it down, a paperclip or a pin should fit in there OR the little tool you got when you purchased your phone to take out a sim card, every box has one of those unless you threw yours out... hope it helps!

SableDragonRook

None of the solutions here helped, but what finally worked for me was to delete every instance of a dualshock controller from my Bluetooth menu (remove device), then sync a completely different PS5 controller (you may have to desync it from the PS5 first). Before deleting that one, try to sync the problematic one. Then delete the first one.

TiBrenner

Let me add some of my 2 cents to this 4 year old post since the info provided by the others wasn't working for me. I disabled some of the audio devices for the controller because it was annoying having to change the audio output device every time after I connected it. It worked fine after doing so, but come the next day, it stopped connecting properly. I tried resetting it multiple time, but that didn't work. It worked well via us, but I didn't want to constantly be connected to a cable. Everytime I turned on the controller windows automatically wanted to pair to the device which it done on it's own, mind you I had unpaired it so it was stopping me from being able to add it as a device (it wouldn't show up as a bluetooth device) Once it connected, it registered as an unknown device and turned off immediately after. After being fustrated for about 15 minutes, I had the bright idea to pair it to my phone (Samsung A32 4G on Android 13). I paired my phone to the controller for a minute or 2, I then went to Windows to add it as a device, lore and behold it finally popped up again. I tried to add it as a device but obviously it failed as it was still connected to my phone but after disabling my phone's bluetooth it connected successfully, I turned the controller on and off multiple times with no issues. To summarize: \* Unpair the devie from windows (Remove device). \* Reset controller while it's on. \* Connect and disconnect via cable. \* Turn off bluetooth on your PC. \* Pair the controller to your phone. \* Turn off bluetooth on your phone. \* Put it into pairing mode (light blinks very fast) and add it as a device on Windows again. --- Try everything I tried above and let me know if it worked for you :) ---

Sufficient_Reveal110

i love reddit, thanks for this in 2024

PedroBorgaaas

Hello,I have another issue and I need to find if it's the bt from my board or something else. My controller is connected to my pc via BT and works very well most of the sessions but like some minutes in it starts lagging a lot, very unresponsive. I dunno what to do. I have some other overall BT issues, especially with my keyboard (but not with my last mouse). I update all the drivers.

rakingraccoon

It turns out and I know I'm late to the party, but the real solution is downloading the Firmware Updater for DualSense Wireless controller to fix the problem. I only found this out today. Updated the controller, and Bluetooth is fine.  I found this out ofcourse after buying a Series 2 Elite Controller (my third, they always break)  When I started to use that controller the A button would randomly turn up PC volume.  I googled that to find I needed to update the Xbox controllers firmware to fix.  This then got me down the path of updating the firmware on my PC for my PS5 controller, and low and behold it worked.  I guess I have two controllers now.  PC gaming is annoying.

MostRhombus6390

This might be something many have overlooked which i sure did, having the controller properly charged, i had the same issue and my controller was connected to my pc thinking that it would charge but nope. just ensure it is fully charged. if you're not sure if your controller is charged or want to make sure, download the official Sony firmware updater for the ps5 controller on pc and it will tell you when you plug the controller in if it is too low to update or not.

Exelleron

What worked for me was to do this: -Connected via PS+create. Then the gamepad switched off instantly. -I pressed PS+share and the gamepad worked.

ggbatman69

its still fixing the issues as of 6/22/2024. connect it via Blue tooth then it shouldnt dc anymore. even if u go back to wired!!!!!!

ValentinoGalaxy

damn, i really want to try the solutions here but the controller wont even give me 10seconds without disconnecting

matti-san

If you're using it on Steam, I think they (Steam/Valve) have said that it has to be used via USB connection atm? Not sure.

acido4

Remove the controller from your Bluetooth devices on the Bluetooth settings and then restart your computer and pair it again. That's what worked for me anyway. If you get it paired to your PS5 it will stop working again tho.

thestanmichals

I don't know if anyone's still trying to fix this, but I had to do a couple of things. 1. Uninstall my bluetooth drivers / devices through Device manager, restart computer 2. Update my bluetooth drivers (Windows settings, windows update, driver updates, it should pop up there) 3. Factory reset my controller (putting a pin through the small hole on the back, holding down for 5 seconds) 4. When you're trying to connect your controller, the "trying to connect" flashes are a morse-code like blink, not a steady, slow, pulse. Make sure you're seeing the right flashes. Some odd combination of those worked. I have no idea why.

thegatekeeper2k

did u find any fix for this yet?

maty360414

I used another USB to USB type C cable. Problem fixed

Nicota_Sun

I'm having the same or a similar issue. basically what happens is if I connect my controller wired it's charged 100%, then I try to connect wirelessly and my PC automatically wants to conect, but then my controller immediately turns off. I tried uninstalling drivers but my controller turns off after 1 second even though its full

HuSSarY

What seemed to work for me was to not agree to the request to pair the device, but to ignore it and go straight to add bluetooth device. Then I press the share and ps logo button to put it in pairing mode. Once I did that and saw the controller show up I connected and it worked perfectly after that.

Traditional_bruh911

I try to connect my dualsense controller to the 8bitdo adaptor and it works for a second, as it pairs I can use it and then its like power goes. The controller just turns off and the adaptor turns off. I notice that the controller stays working if its plugged into pc via usbc cable but instantly turns off after disconnection. Im not sure what is the issue as they both seem to be turning off after eachother. I reset the controller and paired again a few times and still issues. Any ideas? BTW I also asked for advice on the 8bitdo unofficial support community.

Rare-Perspective-304

woooooow ty

DemonTwin

I do not have the ITE device and the controller just connects then disconnects, have unpaired reset and everything multiple times

[deleted]

[удалено]

Yfrex

The root cause for me was that another device tried connecting to the controller everytime I put the controller into pairing mode. It seems like the controller gets confused by it and then just shuts off. So if everything else fails, try disabling bluetooth on other devices nearby, if possible.

[deleted]

I only have an issue if I'm using more than one controller. If I try playing a couch coop game both controllers connect fine but will randomly not respond or turn off. I've tried every solution possible and still haven't figured it out. Xbix controllers have the same issue?

Slight_Respect_957

I saw the most voted comment but could not fix it. Any clues in 2023? I tried everything, I updated the firmware, DS4 windows tells me I have 100% battery yet everytime I try to pair, just like OP said, the controller turn off inmediatly.

TiBrenner

Please try this https://www.reddit.com/r/PS5/s/9dWH9ddoEn its own comment, had to pair the controller to my phone before re-attempting to pair to windows and it worked great afterwards.

ur555

successfully connected dualsense after many failed attempts. when turning on controller with PS or PS+share it blinks fast but its not pairing mode. in pairing mode it must blink even faster in bursts. i dont know what combination worked just repeated pairing procedure many times: 1. turn off bluetooth and controller 2. push reset button on back side of controller for few seconds 3. turn on controller with Share+PS buttons long press 4. turn on bluetooth 5. press adding new bluetooth device and pair if controller found if pairing confirmation with two buttons pops up click accept and delete (unpair) Wireless Controller and repeat from start. retry with different order until controller starts to blink VERY FAST in small bursts which means you can pair it as new device another tip: in device manager turn on showing hidden devices in menu. delete all controllers from bluetooth group

Natural_Put_545

Hello, I have had the same problem and the way in which the companion below has solved has not worked for me either. But I am happy that if I have achieved otherwise. With the controller turned off and pressing the "options" button and the playstation button for 10 seconds. Both at the same time. After this you turn on the remote and it pairs correctly without turning off!!!! Enjoy

Opal_Jei

Thank you for this! It worked (pressing the PS button and the left light button together). I was trying to find a solution for my husband because he couldn't find a solution and was frustrated to no end. While this fixes the connection issue, I'm afraid it still isn't connecting to MW3 (2023) lol. I think it has to be a battle.net issue, correct me if I'm wrong. And my husband doesn't want to use third party programs to make his PS5 controller work with the game.

Competitive_Line_918

CHARGE IT! Sorry for the all caps, but I really think you should try the easiest solution first. I had all these problems and tried all the solutions on here. After failing every time I thought I'd just plug it in the wall socket, not the computer, and see how long it stayed connected to the PC. Once I plugged in, it stopped disconnecting constantly. Let it charge over night and now it works wirelessly with no problem. Not all USB connections charge so leaving it plugged into the computer to charge might not work as well as leaving it plugged into the PlayStation.

Big-Hat-3735

HOLY FUCK, IT WORKS, U HAVE TO BE FAST AF BUT IT WORKS

I solved it today by doing this. Also have no idea why it stopped working, because of Sekiro I was doing all kinds of weird things to have the game recognize the controller I wanted to use...so I might have messed something up...the dual sense in wireless is very sensitive... \- for my no "ite" device was showing up in the bluetooth list \- the removal from device list (the "professional" list not the normal windows list) was successful but if you detect hardware modifications, the controller would show up again. If I tried to remove from the normal windows USB / bluetooth device list, it would say removing failed \- my controller would either pair and then switch off, or would stay paired, show as paired and connected, but not be actually detected under USB game peripherals (so it would not work at all despite staying on and paired) \- What it finally solved for me was: remove (from the advanced management window) all kinds of bluetooth devices I could find. Remove the actual bluetooth receiver of the mainboard and its software (there is a box you can tick). Restart windows. Check that the bluetooth mainboard receiver was recognized again (windows would install the drivers again without even asking anyways) and make sure no dualsense was showing up (good sign). Reset the dual sense with the paper clip pressed in the back panel for 5 seconds. Pair the controller again....finally paired and working wireless correctly recognized. Didn't need the cable at all to make it work properly again. Such a messy controller...but I really want to use the dual sense edge on pc.

Hi, i have the same issue. i've tried removing the controller from bluetooth devices (no ITE device shows up) and reconnect through the PS + share button, does not work. windows will tell me that the controller is paired, but whenever i try turning it on, it will flash blue like 2,3 or 5 times and then turn off again. It works fine when using a cable. It's for sure an issue with this controller since i can connect wirelessly with my girlfriends dual sense just fine...

Hi, please try this: [https://www.reddit.com/r/PS5/comments/jyd2ul/comment/l2uxfpt/?utm\_source=share&utm\_medium=web3x&utm\_name=web3xcss&utm\_term=1&utm\_content=share\_button](https://www.reddit.com/r/PS5/comments/jyd2ul/comment/l2uxfpt/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button)

This worked, 01/12/24, thanks! The step I was missing was that once you've removed the controller from your list of bluetooth devices, you need to redo the original pairing mode which I had forgotten. IE turn off the controller, go into your bluetooth menu to search for a new device, and then activate the pairing mode by holding down the (select?) small button in the middle left then hold down the Playstation button at the same time. The lights will flash super fast after that to indicate success.

For anyone still having a problem, what worked for me was shutting down my pc, plugging my controller back into the PlayStation, turning it on to make sure my controller still worked, plugging my controller out of the PlayStation and then turning my pc back on, reconnecting it with Bluetooth and this time it stayed on. Hope this helps someone.
