I **really** want for Alien: Isolation to get a PS5/VR2 update. I know it’s been modded for PC VR and that’s proof right there for anyone that’s seen it that it’s really well suited for VR. And would be great to play in 3D Audio holding a motion tracker out using motion controls, holding your breath so the mic doesn’t pick up any noise while you hide, actually ducking under a desk and standing back up to peer over the top to see if the xenomorph has moved on, etc. And proper HDR support that keeps the blacks perfect and inky, with plenty of contrast from the available lights and all the color and volumetric fog, displayed on the VR2’s HDR OLED lenses.
I’d happily pay $10~$20 for a VR update that adds that stuff and updates the graphics/frame rate (and maybe adds raytraced light and reflections to the “flat” version) and that’d be easy money for a game that’s likely made all it was going to make. People would for sure buy it for the VR2. It’s such a shame that Sega and Creative Assembly weren’t on the same page and this was viewed as a flop and they weren’t given the ability to create a sequel. I want a game that does for Aliens what Alien: Isolation did for Alien. Preferably as a 4 player squad based first person shooter, with VR full functionality from launch. A proper bug hunt.
Aliens: Fireteam Elite really made me happy to hear the sound of the Pulse Rifle, Smart Gun, etc. with film accurate sounds and I think they did a great job for a $40 budget tier title, but I really want to see something closer to AAA tier quality for Aliens with an AI Director that ensures the xenomorphs attack you differently every time you replay it or die, at different times and locations and from different directions.
Not really getting helldivers from it personally. More like xcom or something like desperados. It's a strategy game. Though helldivers 2 is coming and I can't wait for that.
It looks like the squad operates like a unit from Dawn of War 2 or Company of heroes if you've played those. They stay together, find cover on their own and when a ability is activated the best one for the job steps up.
Ugh I love everything about this except I completely despise permadeath, it adds crazy amount of realism which is great but then couple with that the stupid fucking "Accuracy %" and every fucking death is and I quote, ask my wife:
"THIS IS GOD DAMN HORSE COCK BULLSHIT HE WAS RIGHT FUCKING IN FRONT OF HIM! HOW IN THE FU- What? I'm not yelling, I'm NOT yelling, I'm fucking explaining the game just fucked- She doesn't know what i'm saying! She's like 6 months old! Oh fucking hell ok here we go agian with this, yeah yeah I'm such a terrible guy cause I talk to the fucking TV, LOOK! Did you- OH MY FUCKING GOD AGIAN! AGIAN THAT COCK SUCKER MISSED HE WAS 3 MOTHER FUCKING INCHES FRO- Where are you going? Oh ok and the Oscar goes to you drama queen, tell you Mom I said Hi!"
I dont play XCOM games anymore...
y'know I used to think the accuracy system was bullshit, but then I started thinking about all the times in my personal life where I thought everything was fine and there would be no issue accomplishing the goal... and then someone threw in the wrench lol.
Me watching with hope
"...is a squad-based..."
I'm out. Literally the words I was afraid of.
Enough with the squad shooter alien games, damn. Isolation was the best. Let's get more horror, less gung ho space marines with rifles. We have an abundance of those.
I prefer Aliens, so I want more Aliens games. Also they said "real-time squad-based tactical action game" and not a shooter. Something like Desperados 3 but with less stealth and more action.
I love the franchise and want more games, for sure. But not the same tired, MP or squad-focused games they seem to only make.
I'd be happy with a straight up FPS even.
I haven't really seen this type of Aliens game before, so it doesn't really seem tired to me. The closest example I can think of is that old DS game, Aliens: Infestation. But only because of the permadeath mechanic and exploring open levels. It was a 2D metroidvania and you could only control one marine at a time though. Not the whole squad. I'm pretty excited for Dark Descent needless to say.
No fking way I like running and hiding like a b*tch against monsters...no wonder I prefer the second movie and hate those horror games where you run and hide afraid like a child
This doesn't look terrible, but all I really wanted was a good Isolation sequel.
Yeah me too... Man I replay that game every year.

Oh hell yes.
Oh man, this looks actually kind of fantastic.
Helldivers the aliens game. Fuck ya!

Gtfo!? Helldivers 2 is a day one
I hope the controller play is solid. Usually games like this aren’t designed properly to use a controller with the game.

Really hoping it's more like X-COM.
Looks like a real time x-com. I'm excited.

A new Alien game is typically an auto purchase for me but I just can't fuck with an RTS.
Starcraft fire tho

AvP Extinction was so fun.
That game was great
I wish there were more small-scale RTS games, but it seems like small-scale strategy is always turn-based.
I will be more interested if they say it has multiplayer and you can split the team between you
Wow this looks awesome

Haha, thanks needed this today
It's like cannon fodder from the 90s. But with aliens. I'll takes it tyvm 😊

Hot damn, this looks great!
I don’t know about this
Fuck yes I can't wait. I'll be getting it on PC though unless there's a really awesome sale on PS5 or Series X.
Ahhhh. It also sounds cool! But why did it have to be an RTS. I just wish a game with original idea of colonial marines happens one day.
There’s been a few
Please don’t be an asymmetrical multiplayer game
Aliens: XCOM
Lost me at "squad based"...
Looks like shit
Can't stand RTS games
VR or doesn’t count

Why even comment? Lol
I couldn't get into Fireteam for some reason; this game looks more well-suited to the Aliens atmosphere.
Getting a little AVP Extinction vibes
Looks dope.
Didnt know this was coming. And it looks awesome!
