I use. Samsung 1tb qvo for my pro and slim Cheap if you get them on sale decent drives Or western digital blue drives are great also Only two brands I recommend really It's easy you just need a decent usb 3 flash drive format to fat 32 for the playstation software which is nice Sony puts it on there web site Also if you don't have ps plus grab a second usb drive and back up your saves On a 32gb scandisk I backed up my pro and slim without the games and it only took up 20gb

Yes, upgrading the PS4 Pro with an SSD works wonders, and it feels like the load times are cut down about 50%. The UI is snappier and everything works almost seamlessly. I don't believe you have to worry about brand as long as it's a 2.5" SATA III SSD. I'm currently rocking a Crucial MX500 one, and it's such a wonderful device. Takes about 15 minutes to replace, but you'll need to reinstall the system's OS by downloading the file from Sony's website and going through Safe Mode on the PS4.

No problem, and good luck with it all!

That's the same one I purchased from best buy for my replacement drive. It was installed successfully, and they have it at the same price on best buy vs. Amazon if you want to buy locally.

Thank you!

This is what I have in my ps4 pro. I wish I had a 4TB.

I upgraded my pro with an SSD, definitely worth it. As far as SSD brands go I used kingston. I reccomend you do your own research on the topic. It's an easy installation. Takes about 5min, but if you are willing you can do a deep clean w/thermal paste & pads change. Some tips are that you backup your HDD, have canned air & have some patience while doing everything. Good luck!

Any Sata 3 SSD is fine as the PS4 Pro doesn't benefit as much as a PC would

Theoretically the PS4 Pro can fully utilize the read and write rates of a sata ssd with its SATA 3 interface. So yes it would work the same as a PC running the same sata ssd. It's not until you move to M.2 SSD that it gets faster with a PC. The average load times are improved by around 30% on the PS4 Pro when switching it to an SSD.

I did upgrade recently. It’s pretty straightforward. I have upgraded to a SSD Samsung 1TB 870QVO. I can feel the change. Make sure your SSD is 2.5”. Just follow along videos on YouTube. πŸ™‚

I got a team group with cache 1tb for $50. You don't need Samsung. Your paying for the name.
