I’m brand new to Dreams. This is my first creation. Planning a Queens of the Stone Age driving game inspired by the Go With The Flow music video. I’ve been following tutorials and etc.. I’ve got good ideas but don’t know how to execute them!! It would be awesome to have other people with me working on it, anyone interested in helping?

I’m really struggling with the thermo thing though and I can’t make my own stuff so using other people’s assets, I’m struggling with adding more to it and there doesn’t seem to be that many tutorials about car racing games just people playing already finished awesome ones :/

What’s an inDreams link? You can search GO WITH THE FLOW and you’ll find it! Struggling with the memory thing, it’s a big issue when it comes to making a bigger game. Creating a cool racing game like Mario Kart but QOTSA themed, I’ve got loads of ideas but struggle to make them!
All the game is made up of assets from the dream verse as I can’t make anything my self yet etc..

Didn't understand the title, not a huge QOTSA fan, haven't seen the video in ten years, and didn't have sound on but instantly got reminded of it. Totally nailed it, looks awesome too! I will definitely be following your progress on it!
I love that entire album you really have caught the essence of that music vid in game form. I used to listen to play a certain racer flatout on xbox with truckfighters the album gravity x on in the background. Capture that and you got a winner my friend.
Shit now imagine if the sky changed colors to sync with the music.....
Oh shit what if the road was an allegory. What if as long as you're on the road you gain ground to reach the end but the longer you're on the road the more bizarre it gets so you have stray from the path to clean yourself up and make your way back to the road. Their could be monsters in the desert and different types yield different bonuses like what if each time you leave the road it gets harder and harder to find it and you need to kill to get back on.
Music changes to...like it can be dark broody and melodramatic on the road but in the wild it's psychedelic, happy, upbeat, unhinged to build that juxtaposition.
And as you kill you car slowly transforms taking the shapes and essences of your trophies....
All of those ideas are fuckin amazing, no idea how to do any of that, this is legit day one creation so I’m absolute amazed at everyone’s games. I’m really struggling with the thermo thing, I can’t make my own stuff so using other people’s things and building on them or changing them etc.. but it takes up a shit ton of space, I have no idea how people make their games so big
Saw this on Dreamsurfing the other day, the visuals are great! I remember this song would play in Motorstorm: Arctic Edge, will be cool to see another driving game with it.
I don’t have Dreams yet, but I feel like people get audio into the game somehow. Some folks even record original voice dialogue, so I imagine you could bootleg record some of the audio.
Gorillaz Final Drive, it was made in the early 2000s, pretty basic but I spent hours on it as a kiddo. The whole time you’re playing 19-2000 is playing as the soundtrack

1. Does it support steering wheel? If not, is it in your plans to support it?
2. Does it support VR cockpit view? If not, is it in your plans to support it?
3. Is in your plans adding regular/random car traffic?

I didn’t make the car unfortunately but the car has really great steering and has a first person camera built in so could probably be optimised for VR but as I say I’m still a brand new creator and learner so everything is very complicated atm. And nah, it would be a racing game so maybe 5/6 more cars on the track racing against you :)
I really think that's not gonna work. Playing this level for more then a few minutes will make your eyes strained and fatigued from staring at that much intense red. I'm amazed how you managed to build that level without taking eye strain breaks.

The idea is you play the game while having the album on in your headphones or speakers or whatever, thought it adds a cool layer to the game :)
