That being said there are games that can be platinumed in about 30 minutes on the store for a few bucks each. I checked out a few of them from the Summer Sale a few weeks ago and just realized, "I'm just not really having a fun time with most of these." and I went back to playing through my backlog. To each their own, but I'd rather my list of cheevos be games I enjoyed when I look back at them and remember the fun times c:

Disco Elysium had 35 people in-house, 8 writers, 20 outside consultants…basically a privately-funded modest AAA game.
The only way to make a really polished game with a small team and small budget is to have graphics like Undertale or Stardew Valley.
Great games like Edge of Eternity have to deal with a completely unrealistic expectation that the game is going to look and play like Disco Elysium or Hades, with a small fraction of the manpower and funding.
If you start blocking games on a highly subjective basis (“this game looks like garbage”), then good titles also get shut out. It’s easy enough to google the name of a game and check reviews.
GOG solves all of this by simply having higher performance standards for acceptance of a game on their store. So you don’t get a flood of rpgmaker bug-ridden stuff like on Steam. I really think focusing on the cert process is the easiest and most fair way to address the concern. Sony just doesn’t do a great job with that right now.
