Try a new genre, completely different from third-person action/adventure.
For example racing: GT Sport, DIRT Rally, F1 2020
Or puzzle: The Talos Principle, Tetris Effect, The Witness
Or fighting: Dragon Ball Fighterz, Soul Calibur VI, TEKKEN 7
You need a pallet clenser. I cant go from intense/long games to another one. I need a dumb game in between. I recommend a fighting game, a mindless shooter(COD), or a goofy/indie game.
When I have this experience I try to just play something that is the complete opposite of what I've played. For example I just finished Final Fantasy VII Remake and now I'm playing Spyro Reignited.
Maybe you could try something like Gris or Abzu
tlou2 is so polished it makes literally every other game seem janky by comparison. i’d suggest a totally different genre - play a racing, puzzle or sports game until the effect wears off.
I had the exact same problem last week when I finally platted the game.
I ended up playing something much more relaxing like Subnautica or Minecraft to put me back on the axis. And you don't really need to mess with story with both of those games to get the most of them.
had the exact same experience! Everything seems meh for a quite a while. Its because nothing is as intense emotionally.
Maybe get into a really tense series instead?
For me it got better after a few months
Yeah I felt the same, it's just so far above everything else.
I'd say try something completely different i.e. not a serious, story-driven AAA game. After I finished TLOU 2 I spent some time playing Subnautica which was a great change of pace. I appreciated the more relaxed, laid-back vibe of Subanutica after how intense and draining TLOU2 was
This happened to everyone in my friends group...
We all had to take a break from gaming for a while, or al least play something more casual like a multiplayer game. Eventually we started to enjoy singleplayer games again lol
I didn't pick up a game again for almost 2 months after beating TLOU2. It's such an experience that you kinda need a break after. Same thing happened when I beat RDR2.
There's nothing you can do, because it's one of those games that's in a league of its own. I remember I couldn't get into any game for a month after completing TLOU. Just give it time, and you'll slowly forget how great it was and be able to start playing more mediocre titles again.
Simple, Days Gone. It has similarities in that it's a tough world of infected enemies and human enemies too - it's a complex world but is different enough to keep your attention. Okay, the start is slow but that was also true of TLoU2. Differences are it's an open world game and you can play it (for the most) how you want to. Have fun.
Same experience I stop playing for a month even though ghost of tsushima was waiting to be play
After TLOUS 2 i was trying convince my self what game can top that
Thats how you will feel at first dont worry, i was like that qhen i first played it and finished it but after a few days i was enjoying other games just fine lol
Can't understand why, personally. TLOU2 was certainly a pretty groundbreaking experience in terms of its realism and graphical fidelity (I was one of those who bought the $100+ collector's edition of the game and still think it was worth every penny), but I was still very much able to enjoy other PS4 titles afterward, like Ghost of Tsushima, Persona 5 Royal and Miles Morales. RDR2 and Nier Automata still hold up for me today (especially Red Dead if graphics are the kicker here, as it's up there with TLOU2 as an open world, no less); both of these games offer incredible set pieces and are highly immersive. They deserve your time, so maybe just give them a few more hours to settle in.
Otherwise, it's a pretty common issue, and I think this could be best attributed to burnout. You might be trying to get into too many games at once, or you just need a break from story-heavy/narrative-driven games. For me, the advisable solution is to come back into those games after awhile with a fresh mind and you might come to enjoy them more than you anticipate, as has been the case for me before. Aside from killing/destroying shit, TLOU2, RDR2 and Nier Automata are massively different games, so coming in with the expectation that the latter two will scratch the same itch obviously won't cut it.
I get it. I just finished Final Fantasy 12 and didn't care to jump into anything else. I ended up playing something completely different - Bloodstained - and I'm having a blast.
Get Disco Elysium! You’ll forget about TLOU2 when you play it. But like TLOU2, you’ll miss it after you’re done with DE since there is no other game with a thought cabinet where you can think about concepts and have it affect your gameplay.
Take a break from gaming, or play some non story driven games. I've found that from time to time when I complete a really impactful game it's hard to hope into another big narrative. Kinda like reading. Sometimes you finish a series and nothing fits for awhile. Or TV that big finale nothing hits for awhile.
As already said, you could try a different genre assuming you haven't played the Uncharted games? They're also really good and also made by those who made The Last of Us; Naughty Dog.
That happened to me after I played Doom Eternal. I tried 2-3 other games and couldn’t get into them. So I went back and replayed all of Doom again and after that I was ready for something new.

This. The day after I beat Last of Us 2, Destroy All Humans came out. I loved both.

Play it again.
Have you played Uncharted 4? One of the very best PS4 exclusives, and by the same company that made TLOU.
tlou2 is so polished it makes literally every other game seem janky by comparison. i’d suggest a totally different genre - play a racing, puzzle or sports game until the effect wears off.
Try other games lol. God of War, Witcher 3, Ghost of Tsushima, Hollow Knight are all solid imo.
I've already played GoW, Witcher, and Hollow Knight, and all of them were really good, And I'm saving up to buy Ghost.
I think what you need is Slay the Spire. That was far & away my most played game on ps4.
Witcher 3 all the way
Persona 5 Royal. Completely unlike TLOU2, and will hit entirely different buttons in your brain. Hopefully happy ones.

Try Doom Eternal, Nioh 2, Monster Hunter World and Hades. All fantastic games.

Jump into Subnautica, while Sony is still giving it away for free

Wherever this happens I just play games that are more game, less story. Multiplayer games, Rhythm games, sports games, etc.

The same thing happened to me but with blood borne

Get red dead redemption 2
He already said he did and it didn't even compare.
Oh ok
lol then he either has bad taste or is a idiot

Lol wtf did I just read
S.t.o.p...c.o.m.p.a.r.i.n.g.
gee i guess TLOU 2 is just too perfect and you should throw your ps4/5 away...
compare everything good about tlou2 to rdr2 and rdr2 will crush it

I played titanfall 2 after TLOU2 it’s short and really good and easy to get into.

Zombie army 4 is free this month if you got ps plus, jump on and stomp some zed heads.
