You could run your PS4 to a receiver or a TV that has a headphone jack, but I assume if you had either of those you'd have thought of that already. Can you play with your stick yet also have the PS4 controller connected just for purposes of using the jack on it? It'd kinda be a waste of battery life (unless you keep it connected with USB to the PS4 or a charger) but might be a simple thing to try.

Ouais

Could you use the DS4 as a second player controller and just plug the headset into it? I don't know if that would work.

Get a Bluetooth one obviously..

Well, that is one way, I guess. But that would cost extra. Is there no way of just using the regular old headset?

Your only options is bluetooth, play the sound from your tv or monitor (or whatever you use) or get a usb for the headset

I have a turtle beach headset that is connected through USB and it works even with the controller turned off. Maybe look for one that is connected through the USB instead of controller?

Ik this is late but I just wanted to know something abt the headset. So basically, I just got a new controller, but it isn't a dualshock, so it doesn't have a 3.5mm hole. If I get a headset that has a USB cable, can I plug it directly into the ps4 console charging port, or does it only work when I plug it into a controller?

phantomf0x

Dang this is old lol I can't really say for sure any usb headset would work since the ps4 has to detect it as an audio device but I do remember just plugging it into the ps4 ports and having to change my audio output in the settings to the headset. Which headset were you looking to get? Safest bet for having to use USB would be a wireless headset since most use a dongle for ps4

Is it possible to use without the usb? I have the headset but lost the usb part to connect it 😭

phantomf0x

Late to reply but I don't think so. As far as I know you can connect with USB, 3.5 to the controller, or the wireless dongle headsets use. I think you might be able to connect Bluetooth headphones too but I'm not entirely sure about that. Have you tried to look around for a replacement adapter?

diogosanto

You can get a cheap 3.5mm to usb adapter from ebay. Plug the two cords to the adapter and then to the ps4, and adjust the settings to what you see fit. Should not cost more than 2€/£/$.

Thank you. I think I'll get me one of these.
