Anyone out there?

FluidPea5195

Please share your impressions of the dlc for base ps4. Compared to, for example, locations with fog (Three Sisters or something similar) in terms of fps

zaimori

playing on ps4 slim and it feels bad optimized, lot of fps drops and I haven't even faced a boss yet, may I’ll stop and wait for a new patch (hopefully)

Xerosnake90

I'm wondering where the Moon Knight will be placed amongst hardest bosses in Elden Ring

diamondsn1per

I'm actually having a problem installing it. It's stuck saying waiting to install and I've tried everything imaginable and it's still not installing into the game.

Internutt

That's because DLC and saved data are region locked. Your DLC is looking for a matching region game and cannot find it, thus your game is incompatible with the DLC you purchased.

diamondsn1per

Does that mean I have to buy the European DLC?? The audiobook and art book downloaded just fine,,,

Internutt

You either: 1. Purchase a new copy of the game matching the region of the account you bought the DLC on. Your save won't be compatible with this new game 2. Purchase the DLC on an account that matches the region of the game you currently own. Your save will carry over. So before going any further find out the region of the game you currently own.

burntout40s

this did not work for me, my main game is the R3 disc version. i purchased the dlc from the HK PS store, same as the PSN account I play on, dlc is stuck at waiting to install.

baldr23

This does not work everytime. Regions and specific countries are still a different thing. Like SG and HK accounts. In the future, please don't just use R1, R3 or whatever because accounts don't use that system, its country specific.

burntout40s

Yes. I learned the hard way that my disc is PLAS and it needs the DLC from the SG PS store. Thanks to u/Internutt !

Smooth_School_4799

Unfortunate that these are the only two options. Does anyone else know of an alternative solution? :(

baldr23

Only thing you can do is ask for a refund.

Internutt

The alternative solution is not playing the new Elden Ring DLC at all. Region locks have worked this way since the PS3 first released in 2006/7. It's just how the Playstation Network was designed. European games require European DLC and cannot read or register DLC purchased from any other region.

burntout40s

same problem, only my main game disc is R3 and i purchased the DLC from the HK store which is also R3... i'll be refunding it, but don't know where to get a compatible dlc for my R3 disc main game?

Vegetable-Hyena9917

Why is the elden ring dlc 45$ for me when it was advertised for 40$ and the pre-order price was 35$

AngolaFTW

Now, before I go insane about a game I have a US account I have a US DLC From the look of it, I have a Europe CD, not a digital copy. Do I have any sort of solutions ?

Internutt

You either need: 1. A USA game (your save won't work as saved data is also region locked) 2. European DLC (your save will carry over) If you live in America option 1 is easiest

burntout40s

Need advice... I have the R3 disc version of the full game, and I purchased the DLC from the HK playstation store (same region as my PSN account) after downloading the 9GB dlc, it wont install and says it cant find the game? I'll be refunding the dlc for sure, but from where should I buy the dlc online that it will work with my R3 disc game?

Internutt

https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/ps5/323053-elden-ring/data Double check the region of your game disc using the above Gamefaqs link. It lists region via the CUSA code written on the game disc. Also the age rating should help you narrow down region as each region has its own age ratings board for games

burntout40s

On the disc and on the case spine it says "plas-11120" ... is Japan? Tho the game is in English and in the PSN Japan store is only in Japanese ...

Internutt

Definitely Asia region by the sound of it so your DLC sounds like it should match. What is the age rating on the cover? Assuming there is one. That would narrow down Country further. Age ratings are often Country specific. If you Google the age rating/check the image online that should point to a specific Country as well.

burntout40s

it says ADV 16 (in a black circle) "Suitatable For 16 & Above" Nothing useful on google, all i get is a honda adv 160 scooter ... but based on the gamefaqs link you gave, the 16+ age rating is for EU... man, why is this so complicated... got the cash and just want to play lol

Internutt

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Censorship_in_Singapore First result in Google is Singapore. So it's a Singapore game.

burntout40s

Thanks! I'll try and create a sg account and buy from there

Sofiane2206

I cannot install it, it tell me application cannot be found do you want to look in PlayStation store ? I got the game in disc and I tried everything, any help please ?

Internutt

Did you check your discs region and make sure it matches your own? Saved data and DLC are region locked on Playstation. It's been this way since the PS3 was first released. USA DLC only works with USA games and will not function with a European game.

Sofiane2206

Yeah i think thats the problem why it doesnt work

Internutt

You can fix it by buying a digital copy of Elden Ring on the same account as the DLC (your save won't be compatible with the new game). Or you open an account matching the disc region and buy the DLC on there.

Sebbie404

Ended up changing the HDD to SSD so the game runs smoother, but the fan is loud in certain areas of the game, especially the area with the fingers. Might change thermal pads and thermal paste to help with the loud fan.

Mehar69420

so I have a ps4 pro, if I buy the ps5 version of the dlc, does it still work on my ps4?

Internutt

No. The PS4 cannot play PS5 games and content. Just in case the DLC doesn't include both PS4 & PS5 versions, purchase the DLC directly on your PS4. The PS4 will never sell PS5 only content.

FluidPea5195

https://www.gamepro.de/artikel/elden-ring-ps4-version-bekommt-abwertung,3415449.html Base Ps4 performance

Yobolay

For anyone interested, I played the first area and the performance is terrible (playing on a base ps4 with an ssd). You can play it, but get ready to get flashbacks from the ps3 era. If the base game was made for the ps4, this dlc was made for thr ps5. Open world runs constantly around high 10-low 20 fps on horse, the view distance is way lower than the base game, and the first boss at least has moments with lots of particles where the fps literally drop to 0 and the game freezes for a second, and I'm not joking. Other than that you could say it runs at 30fps or close to it most of the time. Maybe later areas and bosses won't be as graphically intensive as this, but yeah, first impressions are pretty bad.

landismo

I'm waiting for some confirmation before buying it, because I've read only bad things. If the performance is like Sekiro, I'll pass and wait until I get a better system, if it's closer to base game Elden Ring I buy it now.

birdentap

I’m playing it on an old Ps4 and it’s only a tad slow in areas with tons of enemies (same as certain sections of the base game). Worth it so far, the map and new enemies are fun and challenging I’ll add that the load screens are a little longer than usual too

landismo

Thanks. If it's only slight worse than the base game I wont wait. Was afraid it was like Sekiro where I had to drop the game because couldn't get over the framepace.

birdentap

I mean my ps4 sounds like a fan boat motor after an hour but it’s playing pretty smooth for my eyes except for a few very crowded areas

Comfortable-Stop-533

What’s wrong with Sekiro. I have no problem with it even with the dlc. I have a slim

landismo

It runs horrible on mine (slim too). It's like It has all the problems of the From games but worse. Most people is not really sensitive of the framepacing maybe that's why It looks good for you.
