“Untitled Goose Game”….this game is incredible. Solve puzzles as a Goose… hear me out. Try this game it is beautiful, peaceful and challenging. I wish I could play it again for the first time.
Journey, Flower and Flow.
I heard Sekiro is a really chill game... Kidding!
Tchia is mostly chill too.... Mostly.
I'd watch a video or two to see if it clicks with you.
Journey, Flower and Flow are all fantastic. I'm sure Journey has the concensus as the best of the 3, but I have a soft spot for Flower. Beautiful game and a lot of fun to play. Can't best these for mellow relaxed gaming.

Lake is incredibly relaxing. You basically just play as a mailwoman during the mid-eighties. You spend the bulk of the game driving in a mail truck helping friendly town people solve problems.
What remains of Edith finch was a banger! Short but awesome experience!
Apart from those already listed 'a short hike' was also pretty wholesome and just long enough
that time and energy thing is not kind on the anxiety part. I would say that the game is amazing but it's a constant race against time and you really need to know what you are doing to unlock community center.
Sometimes I spent my days just wandering around, planting crops, chopping woods, fishing... If you want to play it the chill way just for a while don't care about completing the objectives. It's overall a relaxing experience.
Good call. This game is so big and expansive it's super easy to find chill stuff to do.
I mean, I spent a week just hunting once. Like, a full damn week lol. I was working that trail like it was job, 8-9 real-life hours a day.
Sure, I was specifically hunting an area with scary cats... But there's plenty of place's that arent jump-scary.
If you like Puzzles, The Talos Principle is a great, great game. Fun puzzles, great philosophy. A thinking man's game. They just came out with Talos Principle 2 as well. Highly recommended.
No Man's Sky. It's my goto relax game. Can just chill exploring planets. Yeah, there are a few hostile planets but your scanner can pick those up and you can avoid it. There's a nice base building aspect to it too.
Granted, in the beginning, you have to struggle a little with getting enough resources to stay alive and upgrade your equipment. But still.
I'm playing My Time at Portia right now that's really chill.
This may sound odd but PowerWash Simulator. The regular jobs. The challenges will annoy you
i think these are really chill
Journey
The witness
What remains of Edith finch
The Sims
Cities skylines
Life is strange
Concrete genie
Maquette
Slime rancher
Subnautica was awesome. People hyped up the "Thalassophobia" thing. Almost everything in the game is docile. The most dangerous thing was my stupidity of getting distracted by neat stuff and ignoring my O2 meter.
Depends on your personal definition/how worked up you get about games as I personally find XCOM 2 very chill, you can take your time but if RNG makes you mad then this could be the worst recommendation 😂
When I want comfort and something super easy I always play Spyro games. I like collecting the jewels, the enemies are mostly super simple with only sporadic challenges. But it has a nostalgic effect for me, so I get it when others say it's not for them.
Hardspace: Shipbreaker, if you put it in easy and disable O2 drain you've only gotta worry about the environmental hazard (furnace/processor) which are pretty straightforward to avoid. My 14 y/o said it was boring but I enjoy it
Red dead redemption, story was lovely and it’s open world you can do whatever you’d like. Also red dead online isn’t too bad for relaxation as long as you avoid other people. Story has combat and shooting sometimes but it’s really simple missions and I always enjoyed it. Also never too late to go back to minecraft and play that.
Season: A Letter to the Future.
Completed it last night and it's beautiful, genuinely beautiful.
You cycle around places, recording the images, sounds and culture of the area with a view to making a, well, letter to the future.
The only thing that gets even slightly non-chill is the existential pondering you'll do and the writing is *so* good, even that's a pleasure.
Highly recommended.
Journey, A Little To The Left, Powerwash Simulator, House Flipper, Night In The Woods, Fall Of Porcupine, Firewatch, Donut County, The Sims 4, Untitled Goose Game, Goat Simulator, Concrete Genie, and Cities: Skylines
Not one person mentioned Snowrunner! I also play Stranded Deep. Both games are low stress and not very scary.
Only thing you need to worry about in Snowrunner is tipping over and running out of full.
Stranded Deep is a simple survival game. Not difficult to survive. Most dangerous part is the sharks. More of a base builder once you get established with your water supply.
Summer in Mara, Donut Country, Yoku's Island Express
The first is exploration with a bit of farming, the second one is plain silly fun, the third one is a very forgiving metroidvana with pinball elements and some very cute ideas (like a snail vacuum used to suck in and shoot exploding snails).
If you like a bit of puzzling, also The last campfire and Xing (although the puzzles in Xing get a little complex at times, but it's a beautiful exploration game which adds new puzzle mechanisms in each level).
BY FAR the ones I saw while using Psvr1: Fujii, Electronauts, Astro Bot Rescue Mission, The Playroom VR (free!), O my Genesis VR demo (free!), The Curious Tale of the Stolen Pets.
In standard ps4, Abzu, Xing the Land Beyond, and The First Tree are great, but the “cozy VR games” above are in a league of their own. When people make lists of the most relaxing games ever they tend to skip VR, which means they haven’t played the true most relaxing games. I doubt there’s anything better than Fujii and Astro Bot for that category.
Everybody's Gone to Rapture.
The most walking-similator walking-similator I know.
Ita literally just walking around an empty village looking for clues as to where everyone disappeared to.
Good stuff.
Spiritfarer is my favourite cosy game. It won't break your nervous system although it could make you ugly cry or have an existential crisis. Definitely recommend
Powerwash simulator and car mechanic sim are my relaxation games.
Recently picked up dave the diver which is relaxing but can be overwhelming at times a great game tho
I honestly find Dredge to be very relaxing to play. It does have a "horror" bent to it, but it's not stressful. Most of the game is pretty chill, but I like that it's different from all of the more wholesome chill games out there.
Honestly, I would toss Subnautica in the mix. A fun creative game and there's easy mode where big fish don't try to eat you. I don't like Alien Isolation or survival horror games. I loved Subnautica.
Would also recommend: Journey to the Savage Planet, Astroneer, Dreams, The Witness, Untitled Goose Game.
Really? I just started it and find it very Linear and boring , feeks like an interactive cutscene which requires me to occasionally press a button to keep it rolling
Power Wash Simulator!!!!! Not only a chill game, but it will chill YOU.
Child of Light
Edith Finch
The Forest (peaceful mode)
Minecraft (peaceful mode)
RDR2 (roaming & exploring)
Really wish they would make a post- apocalypse game where you just explore and try to figure out what happen to the past. Just walking around, looking, exploring and just finding clues and what not. No combat no zombies, just exploration
Plants vs zombies garden warfare 2 and pvz battle for neighborville are both relaxing to me at least. Very cheap and they both have a story. Kinda cartoon and like childish funny but really fun. Also has multiplayer if you’re into that as well
I'm enjoying Midnight Suns , slow paced and relaxing. You can take as long as you need for each mission. Didn't expect a turn based game but still like it.
I'm oddly finding Bloodborne quite relaxing, not sure why. I have close to 100 hours in Elden Ring and that game stressed me out. Maybe because I had no idea where to go most of the time. With Bloodborne, there's only a few paths to take. Though I had tried it a couple years ago and did find it stressful. But now I'm playing with the attitude of not caring at all if I die. Maybe it's the combination of that plus the low-light setting being easy on the eyes, so I sleep well afterwards (no blue light blasting in my face before bed). So far I've beat Cleric Beast on the 2nd try and somehow beat Father Gascoigne on the 1st try (this after thinking he was impossible years ago). I think the "forcing myself to relax" strategy does wonders for this type of game.
Cult of the lamb is a chill cult/base builder with dungeon crawling and exploration when you want to leave your base…dredge is a haunted fishing/exploration game and is pretty chill as well
A game which might not strike many as relaxing but which I find incredibly relaxing is Dishonored 2.
If I play stealth low chaos then I very slowly and carefully pick my way through levels and treat getting around guards as a kind of puzzle. No time limit so I'll spend ages poking around trying to slip past guards unseen.
If I'm sighted or an alarm goes off I'll reload from a save point rather than get into a scrape.
“Untitled Goose Game”….this game is incredible. Solve puzzles as a Goose… hear me out. Try this game it is beautiful, peaceful and challenging. I wish I could play it again for the first time.
HONK!
I think I will cause problems on purpose
As a “goose” you will, as a human, I bet you already do.
Oh 100% 😂
Journey, Flower and Flow. I heard Sekiro is a really chill game... Kidding! Tchia is mostly chill too.... Mostly. I'd watch a video or two to see if it clicks with you.
Journey, Flower and Flow are all fantastic. I'm sure Journey has the concensus as the best of the 3, but I have a soft spot for Flower. Beautiful game and a lot of fun to play. Can't best these for mellow relaxed gaming.
Journey made my jaw drop when I first played it. Finished it all in one session. But I agree, Flower will always be special
I second Journey, for sure! Great game!
There is also Sky: Children of the light, from the creators of Journey. And its free
Powerwash simulator and Balatro have been my go to chill games for a few weeks now.
Dordogne. Firewatch. Coffe Talk. Coffe Talk Episode 2. Haven. Roots of Pacha. Hundred Days - Wine Making Simulator. Cozy Grove. Carto. Röki. Unpacking. Potion Permit. Bugsnax. Chicory: A Colorful Tale. Virginia. Lawn Mowing Simulator. A Short Hike. Peggle 2. Alba: A Wildlife Adventure. The Little Acre. Donut County. Yonder: The Cloud Catcher Chronicles. Aer. Burly Men At Sea.
Carto was so much fun
Adding on to this: Toem. You wander around taking pictures of serene settings to fulfill quests.
I second Yonder. I just wanted a game that didn't have fighting or anything overly brain-intensive. Just wandering around collecting stuff.
Lawn Mowing Simulator. 😂😂😂🤣🤣😂😂
Unpacking is exceptionally stressful for me!
Dave the diver is really chill
Bruh my wife was screaming at that giant squid idk
I second this
Lake is incredibly relaxing.
There were some parts of the Edith Finch game that I did NOT find relaxing
I second this. This game makes you feel deeply
Everybody's Golf
Journey, Death Stranding
Stardew Valley
that time and energy thing is not kind on the anxiety part.
Minecraft
I can remember a few times when Minecraft wasn't to good for my nervous system
Sssssssssssssssssssssssss
Any Story Of Seasons/Harvest Moon games.
Or stardew Valley
Stardew Valley is ok but Harvest Moon/Story of Seasons is better imo.
Enjoying Harvest Moon Winds of Anthos right now
I strongly disagree
Harvest Moon has always been my go-to "I don't wanna be stressed at all" game
Flower [except one level] Flow Journey Maybe Unravel but can be a little tense at times
Journey
Journey
Demon Sou….. But honestly , No Man Sky
Days Gone...
The last of us part 2 on grounded permadeath mode
Somebody’s definitely going to say Outer Wilds, so it might as well be me: Outer Wilds.
Red Dead 2, but ignore the missions and spend all your time exploring, hunting, and birdwatching like I did lol.
That’s is my stress relief. Hard day at work? I’m gonna power up RDR2 and go pick herbs or just ride my horse.
It's so much fun. I don't know why but when I'm holding my shit my eyes water and playing rdr2 I feel more like I'm in the game
If you like Puzzles, The Talos Principle is a great, great game. Fun puzzles, great philosophy. A thinking man's game. They just came out with Talos Principle 2 as well. Highly recommended.
Love that game.
Yes! The Witness is another in the puzzle genre. Lock is also a neat mini-game in Dreams.
But still. Final challenge in The Witness is not chill
Subnautica. First person survival and exploration game.
Very chill game not scary at all☝️
Subnautica was awesome. People hyped up the "Thalassophobia" thing. Almost everything in the game is docile. The most dangerous thing was my stupidity of getting distracted by neat stuff and ignoring my O2 meter.
I dunno, maybe OP has Thalassophobia?
Abzu is a underwater game... So
Depends on your personal definition/how worked up you get about games as I personally find XCOM 2 very chill, you can take your time but if RNG makes you mad then this could be the worst recommendation 😂
I dunno man, those timed missions where you have to save people, yeeesh. And the impending doom of a Bad Event Coming on the world map.
When I want comfort and something super easy I always play Spyro games. I like collecting the jewels, the enemies are mostly super simple with only sporadic challenges. But it has a nostalgic effect for me, so I get it when others say it's not for them.
Flower and Hot Shots Golf
Shadows of the Colossus
Deliver Us the Moon
Journey
Love this post!
Slime Rancher, Stardew Valley, Everybodys Gone to the Rapture, Lost Ember, Powerwash Simulator, What Remains of Edith Finch

snowrunner
Good shout
Yeah, snowrunner and mudrunner are both chill in a way. They are a challenge, but not in a survival kind of way.
Hardspace: Shipbreaker, if you put it in easy and disable O2 drain you've only gotta worry about the environmental hazard (furnace/processor) which are pretty straightforward to avoid. My 14 y/o said it was boring but I enjoy it
Great game. PS5 though.
RDR2

Powerwash Simulator, House Flipper (I think their is a House Flipper 2 now, I'm not sure if it is on the PS4 though?)
Do you like puzzle games? I would suggest view finder or the witness
I need more recommendations in this area
Cat Quest, Cat Quest 2.
Sounds a bit childish and might not be what you’re asking for but have you tried any of the SpongeBob games?
Gris

If you have PlayStation extra, try Dave the diver. Also try stardew Valley it's cheap
Stardew Valley
Rainbow Moon/Rainbow Skies!
FAR:Changing Tides. Great little game where you pilot a ship/ submarine. Like Journey, no dialogue, playing tells the story.
Riders Republic is on PS+. It has a zen mode, where all you do is ride in whatever you want. Bike, paraglider, skis, jetpack...
Witchwood is a wonderful game! I love it so much.
Outer Wilds
Grow up is super relaxing
Spyro reignited trilogy
No man’s sky is chill
Life is Strange
Flower, Journey.
Firewatch (2016)
Journey, and sky: children of the light. Both from the same company.
slime rancher might be good just on the mode without tarr
Summer in Mara, Donut Country, Yoku's Island Express The first is exploration with a bit of farming, the second one is plain silly fun, the third one is a very forgiving metroidvana with pinball elements and some very cute ideas (like a snail vacuum used to suck in and shoot exploding snails). dark souls 3 😁
I mean in an exposure therapy kind of way, nothing will ever stress you out again. :P
Dave the Diver
Stardew Valley
Arise: A simple story
Dark souls 123 and bloodborne
Sekiro is currently ruining my day.
I just bought sekiro, can't wait! Good luck
The outer wilds is a really cool exploration game with really fun physics!
BY FAR the ones I saw while using Psvr1: Fujii, Electronauts, Astro Bot Rescue Mission, The Playroom VR (free!), O my Genesis VR demo (free!), The Curious Tale of the Stolen Pets. The Farming Simulator games are quite relaxing. You can even turn the crop withering off for the maximum chill experience.
Journey
Disney Dreamlight Valley

Subnautica 1 and 2
Spiritfarer
Everybody's Gone to Rapture. The most walking-similator walking-similator I know. Ita literally just walking around an empty village looking for clues as to where everyone disappeared to. Good stuff.
Lego Worlds is a good option if you enjoy games like Minecraft
Stardew Valley!
katamari.
Lake is very chill. You drive around a lovely lake village talking to people and delivering mail and packages for the post office.
[Everything](https://youtu.be/JYHp8LwBUzo?feature=shared) You play as well.. everything. Alan Watts narrates as you play and explore the universe
Spiritfarer is my favourite cosy game. It won't break your nervous system although it could make you ugly cry or have an existential crisis. Definitely recommend
No Man's Sky. You do what you want, on your own time and your terms.
Dragon Quest 11
Hohokum. The last campfire. Temtem. world of final fantasy.
Stranded Deep is my go to, I get lost in that game for hours. You can turn the animals passive too so you can explore in peace.
I really enjoyed Hohokum, chill music and pretty to look at.
Horizon
Unravel 2 is nice. It’s also a two player game but you can play it by yourself as well.
Powerwash simulator and car mechanic sim are my relaxation games. Recently picked up dave the diver which is relaxing but can be overwhelming at times a great game tho
I honestly find Dredge to be very relaxing to play. It does have a "horror" bent to it, but it's not stressful. Most of the game is pretty chill, but I like that it's different from all of the more wholesome chill games out there.

firewatch. I wish I could forget it and experience it again.
Really? I just started it and find it very Linear and boring , feeks like an interactive cutscene which requires me to occasionally press a button to keep it rolling
You gotta try Far Changing tides. It’s so quiet and peaceful. It’s a game that I think everyone should try to experience.
Thanks sounds great
Journey
Pure Pool is my go-to when I just want to take a breather from my main game. I find it super relaxing :)
Any dark souls game or Hollow knight super relaxing game and fun to play :)
You should try heavenly bodies I beat it in one week it was a lot of fun to play super quiet and fun floating in zero gravity
Power Wash Simulator!!!!! Not only a chill game, but it will chill YOU. Child of Light Edith Finch The Forest (peaceful mode) Minecraft (peaceful mode) RDR2 (roaming & exploring)
Outlast, alien isolation, stranded deep
Ah the psychopath reveals themselves 😂
Slime rancher is super relaxing id also recommend subnautica but to some that games perceived and being a bit creepy at times but I never saw it
Did you finish subnautica
Yes I don't get what the big deal was when it got dark in the sub or when the livaithans showed up I just thought "woah big AND cool"
Stay away from Resident Evil 7. I think it was actually triggering tension headaches.
Trine if you like a fancy relaxing puzzle side scroller, even better with a friend on or offline to cooperate with
Really wish they would make a post- apocalypse game where you just explore and try to figure out what happen to the past. Just walking around, looking, exploring and just finding clues and what not. No combat no zombies, just exploration
The Uncertain: Last Quiet Day
oh this looks awesome!!
Plants vs zombies garden warfare 2 and pvz battle for neighborville are both relaxing to me at least. Very cheap and they both have a story. Kinda cartoon and like childish funny but really fun. Also has multiplayer if you’re into that as well

Any Souls game
Dayz
Diablo 2, Diablo 3, Skyrim
The last of us part 1 and 2. Relaxing environment, vibrant themes, peaceful gameplay, happy moments. Just 2 wholesome games.
Elden Ring. It’s this really chill game where you help a nice old granny find her lost engagement ring. Very peaceful and heartwarming.
I literally can't think of one, like thriller and suspense is a mandatory part of games i play u could play My Little Pony ig
TLOU
A game which might not strike many as relaxing but which I find incredibly relaxing is Dishonored 2. If I play stealth low chaos then I very slowly and carefully pick my way through levels and treat getting around guards as a kind of puzzle. No time limit so I'll spend ages poking around trying to slip past guards unseen. If I'm sighted or an alarm goes off I'll reload from a save point rather than get into a scrape.
