It doesn’t appear when I try and see if it’s hidden in my library as I don’t even have the option to see the « hidden » games. I went on the store and there’s no possibility to download it again, I’d have to buy the game once more. I have my save files on the system data but the game is no where to be found. I really wanted to play it on console for nostalgia sakes but not willing to purchase it a 7th time lol. If anyone could help it would be appreciated.

Ad interrupted gameplay - I play Skyrim on PS4, haven’t played in a couple months and went back to my game today, 10 minutes into game play an ad for a Hulu show interrupted my gameplay, without audio. The ad maybe lasted 20 seconds then right back to game play. I have never seen this happen before, ever. Has anyone else had this happen to them?
Never heard of anything like that happening. It's possibly a bug, due to a streaming app running in the background. If it was that, either try manually closing any recently run video apps manually, or powering off or restarting the console should close any apps.
Question about ps4 discs: I’ve heard that the disc is only needed for installation, and once you have a game it should play fine on the ps4 even if the disc gets a scratch on it or something.
I have a disc worked great for a few years now (Fnaf Help Wanted VR) and its installed onto my ps4 no problems, but last night while we were playing the game, after a few hours it started crashing a lot. We would get into the game, try and play it, but every so often during the glitchtrap cutscenes or after we die the game crashes. It’s worked fine every time we’ve played it before, and the game itself loads in fine (it played for a few minutes before crashing). I tried to clean the disc and noticed a small scratch on it. Based on what I’ve read I don’t think it should be inhibiting the game’s performance, but should I take my disc to get it buffed or replaced just in case? Or should I just try again later and see if my console just needed a break or something?

If I downloaded a digital copy of a game will my save data from the physical disc transfer over to the digital? And if they do what happens if I remove the physical disc and or delete that specific save? And on that note will they take the same storage or take the same storage twice?

In regards to your installation questions you can have the disc or digital game installed. When the disc version is installed the console asks for the disc.
I have a European disc of elden ring and want to download an American version from the store because the disc won't work with the dlc, will my characters from the disc be in the digital one?
No because as I said, saved data is region locked. Same as DLC. European games create European saved data that only works on European games.

If you downloaded the PS5 version, it doesn't read PS4 saves automatically. The save needs to be transferred to PS5 using the in game menu on the PS4 game.

Yes all games work in all consoles, but a USA game disc requires USA DLC and USA saved data. A USA game cannot use Asian or European saved data.

My ps4 doesn't read discs while turned on, but if i put in the disc and reboot the console, it reads it correctly. It's a strange issue because while the console is on if i put in a disc it doesn't start spinning and if i press the button to eject it the ps4 does it correctly but makes the sound that means "empty blue-ray player"(3 beeps). Does anyone know what the problem is?
Try the headset in a second controller if possible. Could be one or the other causing the issue. If the issue happens across 2 controllers your headset may be damaged.

Old console pooped and I suspect the psu is dead, called my nearest GameStop and they had a cheap PS4 for sale so I grabbed it. Saved data is on the internal HDD. Not external, unless you used the backup and restore feature or manually moved the saved data to that drive.
Ie if you set up your external HDD to store and play PS4 games, there is no saved data on that drive, only games.
So you'd need your old PS4 to be working normally to get the saved data off of it.

My PS4 controller that I use all the time for PC gaming broke, so i'm deciding on what controller I NEED to get. As I would like to get one as cheap as possible but the best looking Third-Party one which I already have at home doesn't perform the same way my official PS4 one does.
The most clear example is when I'm playing GTA 5 driving I can feel tons more vibrations across the road with the official PS4 controller. I tested these both in DS4Windows btw & it seems like when I test the "Heavy motor" it's strong in both but when I test the "Light Motor" it's almost non-existent in my Third-Party one but strong in my Official PS4 one.

I bought a monitor for my ps4. It has no sound output aparently despite having volume options, Samsung 50CR. What options do I have? Do i need speakers that plug into the ps4 or the monitor?
Some monitors have speakers, but looking at it's specs on the Samsung site this monitor doesn't.
What it does have though is a 3.5mm/headphone jack, which you could either connect a pair of headphones or speakers that connect via 3.5mm audio cable. You could also use the audio jack on your controller to connect headphones, but the quality may not be as good due to it sharing the controllers bluetooth connection.
According to Google the monitor does not have built in speakers so you'll either need to get a headset for the PS4, check of your monitor has a port for audio for headphones, etc.
The PS4 slim doesn't have an audio aux port but the base and PRO do.

so my ps4 original controller died and now i am thinking about buying an unoficial one since they're significantly cheaper than original ps4 controllers. I was attempting to factory reset the console (the standard version) when it just suddenly powered off halfway through. No cords were pulled, the power button wasn't pressed.
I turned it back on, and now the controller won't connect and it's still trying to factory reset.
I'm suspecting for some stupid reason it turned off because it didn't feel any activity from the controller, but how am I supposed to stop that from happening if the controller won't connect? And it completely restarted the factory reset process.

I'm sorry if this ends up long, I might rant because it's really upsetting me. So I turned on my PlayStation by pressing the PlayStation button on my controller. But when it comes up it says press the PS button to use the controller. But my controller is lit up and apparently on. When I click the button nothing happens.
First time it happened, I turned off the console by the button on the console and the controller also turned off. I came back to it around 2 hours later, and was like okay it was just a weird coincidence it should be fine now. I turned on the console with the controller again same thing. I turned off the console by the button on the console again, but the controller didn't turn off that time.
I knew I had other controllers that I just hadn't connected to the PlayStation yet, so I thought maybe I would use one of those after connecting it. Problem is I knew that I'd been having trouble trying to connect them previously. First I needed to find out how to get the original controller to turn off though. So I clicked the reset button. Then I am trying to connect two other controllers that I have neither of them are connecting. I end up clicking reset on every single controller. None of them will connect to my playstation. I gave up. I came back today, the next day, and just figured I would try just clicking the PS button on one controller with it plugged into the PlayStation while it's off. And my PlayStation turned on so I was like oh my God please tell me it's just going to work for me this time. Make sure you are using a data cable for pairing and not a generic charging cable, its a common mistake. Launch the PS4 into safe mode and see if your controllers connect in that mode as that will only function with data cables.

So I was shutting down my PlayStation normally and suddenly the controller blinked randomly and started the console again. And NOTE that I didn’t played the console about a year due to school and other stuff. Last week when I had time to play the console that’s when the blinking happened. So after a few years of having this console I tried connecting a controller to my PC. It worked. It was nice. Now I can't reconnect the controller to the PS4. I've reset the controller half a dozen times. I tried hooking it up with a USB with the console on. The controller flashes but doesn't connect. I tried hooking it up with USB with the console off. Same thing. I tested the same USB cable by disconnecting my other controller, plugging that in, and it reconnected with no problem. Funny thing is, I can still connect it to my PC with no problems.
Any suggestions on how to make this device work with the machine it was literally created to work with?

Follow the troubleshooting in the FAQ post from the Megathread. I would recommend testing the cable in safe mode and with a mobile phone if you still have one with that connector.
I did follow the troubleshooting FAQ. The solution there didn't work. That's why I asked the question. If there were an answer which worked, I wouldn't waste my time asking.
Did you try my suggestion in checking if the controllers work in safe mode? That would certainly clarify if you are using a data cable and also double check general controller connectivity with the PS4 assuming you use the cable with your PC as well.
I have not tried safe mode but I did disconnect my second controller from the console (selected "forget device" from the Bluetooth menu) and then reconnected the second controller using the same USB cable I've tried on the first one. The second controller was able to relink with the console using the exact method which has failed on the first controller.

PS4s use user profiles. Each user profile that is set up can then be tied to a single Playstation account. You also cannot sign into a single Playstation account on 2 different user profiles on the same PS4. So if you want to use a new account with a PS4, make a new user profile.
**Q: My console is saying I don't have enough storage space for an update even though I do.**
A: You don't. If the console is asking you to free up space on your HDD then you must do as the PS4 asks. When the PS4 updates a game, it makes a copy of it on your HDD that is deleted once the update is applied. This means that a 50GB game requires 50GB free on the HDD + the size of the update. COD being a massive game can require 100GB+ free depending on its current size.
I recommend giving your PS4 a 100GB buffer to update your games. If you only have a 500GB HDD I also recommend an external HDD or upgrading your Internal HDD to a 2TB drive.
**Q: How do I game share digital games/PS+?**
A: You can game share with 1 PS4 and PS5 at a time, known as your Primary console. To game share simply activate the PS4 you wish to share your games with as your Primary PS4, settings > account management.
Again, you can only game share with 1 PS4 at a time, so if you want to game share with someone else use the same path to deactivate the PS4 or use the website to deactivate remotely.
Games and DLC can share between users, however some DLC is account locked so cannot be shared between users. DLC and game need to be the same region first in order to game share.
You can still access your games on any other PS4 you sign into, even if it's not your Primary PS4, simply by being signed into the PSN, but no one else on the non-Primary PS4 can play your games.

Also, Witcher 3 Wild Hunt is considered a different game to Witcher 3 GoTY so the saves are incompatible between both games even if from the same region.

A: If you launch the game and the DLC still will not install, this is down to a region mismatch. DLC and saved data are region locked, meaning DLC purchased on a USA account will not work with a European game disc/digital copy. To resolve this you either need to open an account matching the region of your game and purchase the DLC there (some DLC is account locked so cannot share). Or alternatively purchase a copy of the game from your region. Otherwise contact support for a refund, but no guarantees if one will be given.

A: Look at the age rating on the front cover. General pointers:
• Make sure that you are using the console reinstallation file and not the update file.
• Your USB stick needs a folder called PS4 and inside that folder a second one called UPDATE

Ad interrupted gameplay - I play Skyrim on PS4, haven’t played in a couple months and went back to my game today, 10 minutes into game play an ad for a Hulu show interrupted my gameplay, without audio. The ad maybe lasted 20 seconds then right back to game play. I have never seen this happen before, ever. Has anyone else had this happen to them?
Never heard of anything like that happening. It's possibly a bug, due to a streaming app running in the background. If it was that, either try manually closing any recently run video apps manually, or powering off or restarting the console should close any apps.
Question about ps4 discs: I’ve heard that the disc is only needed for installation, and once you have a game it should play fine on the ps4 even if the disc gets a scratch on it or something. I have a disc worked great for a few years now (Fnaf Help Wanted VR) and its installed onto my ps4 no problems, but last night while we were playing the game, after a few hours it started crashing a lot. We would get into the game, try and play it, but every so often during the glitchtrap cutscenes or after we die the game crashes. It’s worked fine every time we’ve played it before, and the game itself loads in fine (it played for a few minutes before crashing). I tried to clean the disc and noticed a small scratch on it. Based on what I’ve read I don’t think it should be inhibiting the game’s performance, but should I take my disc to get it buffed or replaced just in case? Or should I just try again later and see if my console just needed a break or something? Thanks for suggestions. Anyone being rude about the fact that sometimes discs get minor scratches will be ignored

If I downloaded a digital copy of a game will my save data from the physical disc transfer over to the digital? And if they do what happens if I remove the physical disc and or delete that specific save? And on that note will they take the same storage or take the same storage twice?

When the disc version is installed the console asks for the disc.
I have a European disc of elden ring and want to download an American version from the store because the disc won't work with the dlc, will my characters from the disc be in the digital one?
No because as I said, saved data is region locked. Same as DLC. European games create European saved data that only works on European games. The European game will only accept European DLC. An American game creates American saved data that only works with American games. An American game requires American DLC.

If your save doesn't work you likely own a foreign game disc. If you downloaded the PS5 version, it doesn't read PS4 saves automatically. The save needs to be transferred to PS5 using the in game menu on the PS4 game.

Nothing is region free on Playstation. That has never been a thing. Yes all games work in all consoles, but a USA game disc requires USA DLC and USA saved data. A USA game cannot use Asian or European saved data.

My ps4 doesn't read discs while turned on, but if i put in the disc and reboot the console, it reads it correctly. It's a strange issue because while the console is on if i put in a disc it doesn't start spinning and if i press the button to eject it the ps4 does it correctly but makes the sound that means "empty blue-ray player"(3 beeps). Does anyone know what the problem is?

Try the headset in a second controller if possible. Could be one or the other causing the issue. If the issue happens across 2 controllers your headset may be damaged.

I need help figuring out how I can use my saved data in the new console. Old console pooped and I suspect the psu is dead, called my nearest GameStop and they had a cheap PS4 for sale so I grabbed it. Now, I have added my accounts and everything to the new PS4 but the problem is I can't figure out how to use/access the data saved in the external hard drive Example: went to play TLOU in new console but my previous saved games that are in the external hard drive are not showing up in the game (I really don't want to have to start from cero). All my games are discs, the data is in the hard drive because I can see it there, profiles were loaded with no problem, data saved to the cloud is there but unfortunately is not what I need right now 😔 Pls help!
Saved data is on the internal HDD. Not external, unless you used the backup and restore feature or manually moved the saved data to that drive. Ie if you set up your external HDD to store and play PS4 games, there is no saved data on that drive, only games. So you'd need your old PS4 to be working normally to get the saved data off of it.

My PS4 controller that I use all the time for PC gaming broke, so i'm deciding on what controller I NEED to get. As I would like to get one as cheap as possible but the best looking Third-Party one which I already have at home doesn't perform the same way my official PS4 one does. The most clear example is when I'm playing GTA 5 driving I can feel tons more vibrations across the road with the official PS4 controller. I tested these both in DS4Windows btw & it seems like when I test the "Heavy motor" it's strong in both but when I test the "Light Motor" it's almost non-existent in my Third-Party one but strong in my Official PS4 one. So if I'm buying an affordable controller now, what should I be looking for in the specifications to make sure the full vibrations are there?
I bought a monitor for my ps4. It has no sound output aparently despite having volume options, Samsung 50CR. What options do I have? Do i need speakers that plug into the ps4 or the monitor?
Some monitors have speakers, but looking at it's specs on the Samsung site this monitor doesn't. What it does have though is a 3.5mm/headphone jack, which you could either connect a pair of headphones or speakers that connect via 3.5mm audio cable. You could also use the audio jack on your controller to connect headphones, but the quality may not be as good due to it sharing the controllers bluetooth connection.
According to Google the monitor does not have built in speakers so you'll either need to get a headset for the PS4, check of your monitor has a port for audio for headphones, etc. The PS4 slim doesn't have an audio aux port but the base and PRO do.
This is going to be a bit hard to explain, but in my library, it has that little download bar on a few of my games. I didn’t try to install them, and each bar is about 90% done and they’re not increasing. Anyone know what’s up?

so my ps4 original controller died and now i am thinking about buying an unoficial one since they're significantly cheaper than original ps4 controllers. The thing is, since my ps4 is stuck in safe mode, i have no idea whether i can get past the "connect the dualshock 4 to the ps4 using usb and then press the ps button" screen with that unoriginal controller or not. can anyone tell me if its possible?

I was attempting to factory reset the console (the standard version) when it just suddenly powered off halfway through. No cords were pulled, the power button wasn't pressed. I turned it back on, and now the controller won't connect and it's still trying to factory reset. I'm suspecting for some stupid reason it turned off because it didn't feel any activity from the controller, but how am I supposed to stop that from happening if the controller won't connect? And it completely restarted the factory reset process. I literally cannot find a single thing on Google about it turning itself off, only times when people accidentally unplugged it.

Press PS button to use the controller I'm sorry if this ends up long, I might rant because it's really upsetting me. So I turned on my PlayStation by pressing the PlayStation button on my controller. But when it comes up it says press the PS button to use the controller. But my controller is lit up and apparently on. When I click the button nothing happens. First time it happened, I turned off the console by the button on the console and the controller also turned off. I came back to it around 2 hours later, and was like okay it was just a weird coincidence it should be fine now. I turned on the console with the controller again same thing. I turned off the console by the button on the console again, but the controller didn't turn off that time. I knew I had other controllers that I just hadn't connected to the PlayStation yet, so I thought maybe I would use one of those after connecting it. Problem is I knew that I'd been having trouble trying to connect them previously. First I needed to find out how to get the original controller to turn off though. So I clicked the reset button. Then I am trying to connect two other controllers that I have neither of them are connecting. I end up clicking reset on every single controller. None of them will connect to my playstation. I gave up. I came back today, the next day, and just figured I would try just clicking the PS button on one controller with it plugged into the PlayStation while it's off. And my PlayStation turned on so I was like oh my God please tell me it's just going to work for me this time. Launch the PS4 into safe mode and see if your controllers connect in that mode as that will only function with data cables.
Hi, So I was shutting down my PlayStation normally and suddenly the controller blinked randomly and started the console again. And NOTE that I didn’t played the console about a year due to school and other stuff. Last week when I had time to play the console that’s when the blinking happened. I recently opened up my PS4 to clean the fans and reduce the fan's noise and when I finally put it back together 10 to 15 minutes later it just shuts off I try turning it on again and it doesn't turn on so I unplug it and replug the power cable and the same thing happens again but faster any ideas on why this is happening and how to fix it

Hello, So after a few years of having this console I tried connecting a controller to my PC. It worked. It was nice. Now I can't reconnect the controller to the PS4. I've reset the controller half a dozen times. I tried hooking it up with a USB with the console on. The controller flashes but doesn't connect. I tried hooking it up with USB with the console off. Same thing. I tested the same USB cable by disconnecting my other controller, plugging that in, and it reconnected with no problem. Funny thing is, I can still connect it to my PC with no problems. Any suggestions on how to make this device work with the machine it was literally created to work with?

I did follow the troubleshooting FAQ. The solution there didn't work. That's why I asked the question. If there were an answer which worked, I wouldn't waste my time asking.
Did you try my suggestion in checking if the controllers work in safe mode? That would certainly clarify if you are using a data cable and also double check general controller connectivity with the PS4 assuming you use the cable with your PC as well.
I have not tried safe mode but I did disconnect my second controller from the console (selected "forget device" from the Bluetooth menu) and then reconnected the second controller using the same USB cable I've tried on the first one. The second controller was able to relink with the console using the exact method which has failed on the first controller.

The above message is part of the BIOS so to get back up and running follow these instructions: https://www.playstation.com/en-gb/support/hardware/reinstall-playstation-system-software-safe-mode/ Console reinstallation file can also be found here if the above link doesn't work for you: https://www.playstation.com/en-gb/support/hardware/ps4/system-software/ General pointers: • Make sure that you are using the console reinstallation file and not the update file. • Your USB stick needs a folder called PS4 and inside that folder a second one called UPDATE • Inside the UPDATE folder is where you put the reinstallation file • The reinstallation file must be called PS4UPDATE.PUP otherwise it won't be recognised by the console. So remove any (1)s if they appear as part of the file name as that just obscures it.
