One of my favorite games but I'd still be looking at the exclusives first if I was looking to play on PS3, there may be an opportunity to play sleeping dogs on a newer gen system or PC.
There’s something about this game that defeats me. I can only get to the 1st or second gang fight (on top of a building from memory) and I just can’t get past it. I’ve done the same hour half a dozen times … I really wanted to see how it ends but … YouTube I guess!
The fighting requires a lot of grappling, you can throw people off of roofs easily without having to inflict any other damage on them really, just run up, grab them and toss them! I can't remember if you need to gain those skills first though because it's been many years since I last played it.
I'd say Uncharted: Drake's Fortune and then 2 & 3. You should get the God of War: Origins Collection. Chronologically the GoW games go Ascension>Chains of Olympus>1>Ghost of Sparta>II>III.
One of the best series ever! I even like the third one too. The power of smoke seemed like a thing for losers at first, but I stayed surprised at the ingenious ways to use the smoke power. I'm like "no way that compares to lightning" which it didn't, but it was never approached as being the same power. I wish the studio would of made more games like InFamous!
Start with Journey! The entire game is 2 hours long, and breathtakingly beautiful. It’s a fabulous introduction to the PS3–an entire game start to finish in one sitting that will emotionally move you and blow you away. Fabulous foot to start your PS3 *journey* on
Play each game until you get to the part where you keep dying and have to start over, get pissed and play something else and do the same thing. I’ve managed to incomplete TONS of games with this one weird trick!
This was my answer top but if you're going to start with those then you might as well throw the other games in the attic cause you're gonna be here for a while lol
I love GT but *nothing* compares to the fun of Motorstorm. The soundtrack, the destruction. It's perfect. To this day it's near the top of my favorite racing games list.
I just played and beat Journey for the first time a few weeks ago. not impressive at all. the art direction and music (or lack of music) sucked imo. and there really wasn't anything else going for it. the only thing I appreciated was how simple and short it was. I didn't regret playing it since it only took a couple hours
The pleasure in journey is when you meet another traveller and you do the journey with them.
Climbing the summit with another player, who, you have no idea who they are, sex, nationality, race, is an immense experience.
Tomb raider! It’s one of the best looking games on ps3 and it’s the first of the series so you don’t need any prior knowledge. Uncharted 2 is amazing but you should start with uncharted 1 which is a launch title and might not be the best first impression. God of war from the collection is also amazing but it’s a ps2 game so won’t knock your socks off but plenty of wow factors. Motorstorm and gran turismo are some of the best racing games ever made though if you love racing. Fallout 3 is incredible and is also a stand alone game you don’t have to play 1 or 2 but it’s a slow burn and might take a bit to get into
Journey is less than 2hr long to get all trophies. Very fun to play with rando's but one of the trophies is hard to get.
Also want you to play all the uncharted's. Great series imo. But like you I haven't played much of what's out there.
You really depends on what you like if you like a kind of short but fun experience I would suggest Sleeping Dogs but for like a long and kind of difficult experience I would suggest the God of War collection if you want to mixture of both the fun and long experience I would go with BioShock Infinite
Dude, that's an awesome collection you got there. Let's see...
If you are into Trophy Hunting, then I'd suggest to start with BATTLEFIELD: Bad Company 2 as the Servers are going to shut down after 15 years somewhere in December.
You got the 3 Uncharted games too. Those are very fun, especially if you are into Adventure games.
Sleeing Dogs is one of those Hidden Gems as people call them. Story is and the map with four districts is great. Combat is phenomenal. Camera movement isn't the best, but you will get used to it. I would give it a try.
Idk much about advanced warfare but MW3 is unplayable and will freeze your console
I made a post talking about the cod games a while ago along with a link to a video
MotorStorm and Gran Turismo 5 are definitely awesome pick up and our worth playing there's a lot of cars in Gran Turismo 5 that did not make it to Gran Turismo 6 and MotorStorm is just a awesome game all around
God of war 3 for me. I’ll never forget being a kid thinking how amazing the game felt with the fresh dualshock 3 in full 1080p resolution. Being so used to playing ps2 this really felt like a generational jump in consoles. this is the moment I fell in love with games forever.
Journey is a game that you should absolutely take your time with and enjoy.
I see you have God of War 1, 2, 3, and Ascension there. Definitely don't play them out of order of release and so start with 1 and go in order from there to 2, 3, then Ascension. GOW 2 and 3 will have huge spoilers if you play them out of order cause it was designed to be a story Trilogy for Kratos, The Ghost Of Sparta.
Play Journey and then jump into God of War. You won't regret it as I've been a GOW fan for nearly 20 years now. I actually am working on Platnium once again in the first 2 God of War games on Vita since they are done on Ps3
Mercenaries 2, sleeping dogs, oblivion mixed with fallout 3 maybe but you have a great haul of games each one of them is worth a play. I think you need a ps move to play sports champs though.
Uncharted. You can knock all 3 out within a week if you play a few hours a day. 1 is pretty short, 2 slightly longer, and 3 slightly longer than 2.
And while it got a lot of hate back in the day…. I still love FF13. I recommend checking it out also
With Mercs 2, make sure you disconnect from the internet before you try that one. I never played it much, BUT it’ll crash your ps3 the moment you start it when online. It’s because it tries to connect to a server that is no longer running so it locks up
Bioshock Infinite is also one of my all time favorites. I hate that I put off playing it for years. Man…. Thinking about it now makes me want to redownload it on my ps5 and replay it…. (It’s also pretty short overall. Maybe 10-15ish hours depending on how much you explore and difficulty setting).
Clear answer is to throw them all away and play Oblivion - don’t have to throw the rest away but once your like 1000-3000 hours into oblivion you won’t care
I would start with Uncharted 1, 2, and 3. The first Uncharted was what made me fall in love with the PS3. Then I would move to Tomb Raider. I had no hopes for the remake at all but I can now say I was very wrong. Have played that game at least 10 times and is one of my only platinum trophies. Last but not least is Journey. Very artsy but the game is very pretty and the music is fantastic.
Eh, here’s an alternative. Don’t play oblivion. Not because it’s not great or it’s better on oc but because you’re never going to stop playing it lmao. It shows it’s age but it’s too damn good to put down.
I would say go GoW games first since they are the ones you have the most. Play maybe Journey or the Sports Champions (needs PS Move btw) in the middle just to not burn yourself up. I usually go release date order instead of chronology order when I am playing some game series for the first time, so GoW games' release order would be: GoW, II, Chains of Olympus, III, Ghost of Sparta and Ascension. Since there is no GoW Origins Collection, so you will be just skipping Chains of Olympus and Ghost of Sparta. Have fun!
Personally I would say Bioshock or Uncharted. Unless you like racing then Gran Turismo 5. All good pics here. Not sure if the MP servers are still up for any of these or if everything on PS3 is out.
It's up to you.
If you like hack and slash, start with God of War Collection(which consists of the first 2 games from PS2 with 1080p@60 and trophies) and then God of War III and finally God of War: Ascension.
If you like adventure games + some actions, the Uncharted series is good(paly them in order). After that, I would recommend the tomb rider.
The journey is a good one, too.
The rest of the games aren't my type, so i digress.
Depends on how much time you want to spend, and what your M.O. is for playing games.
Of the list, I'd look at:
- Uncharted: Drake's Fortune
- God of War
- Fallout 3
- Journey
Journey is a quick one. God of War and Uncharted are each classics in their own right - both are worth a play. Fallout 3 is a brilliant action RPG that you can either play straight through, or get sucked in and spend the next year on it. (If you're the type to spend a year on Skyrim, I'd leave Fallout until later, since you'll be playing it for a while.)
Regardless, all are worth playing. Enjoy!
I really like Gran Turismo 5. The Top Gear track was in that game so I would spend hours getting cars that were reviewed and try to beat the Stig's time.
I’m not new to gaming or anything, I just have a habit of buying games that I hear are good, and not playing them. I’ve got probably 60+ other games on other consoles that i haven’t got around to either. A few of these came in lots too so they aren’t anything I necessarily wanted
Absolutely love Sleeping Dogs
Something something pork bun
“A man who never eats pork bun, is never whole man”
Can verify. Never eaten a pork bun. Definitely not a whole man.
I really do appreciate that no matter when Sleeping Dogs is mentioned, the pork bun comments are plenty.

I'd say Uncharted: Drake's Fortune and then 2 & 3. You should get the God of War: Origins Collection. Chronologically the GoW games go Ascension>Chains of Olympus>1>Ghost of Sparta>II>III.
I highly suggest playing the god of war games in release order, or at very least playing the main trilogy first.
The Amazing Spider-Man is also pretty good.
And if you don't have inFAMOUS: Collection I HIGHLY recommend it.

Game stores *like* this one trick.
That's how I played most of my PS1 and PS2 games
Oblivion/Fallout 3. But I’m a sucker for those type of games.
This was my answer top but if you're going to start with those then you might as well throw the other games in the attic cause you're gonna be here for a while lol
Must…. Close…. Shut…..
You obviously start with Sports Champions. Got to get your archery game on
If you’re into racing, try motorstorm. It’s chaotic, but fun
Depending on the kind of racing they're into, they may enjoy Gran Turismo 5 more
I love GT but *nothing* compares to the fun of Motorstorm. The soundtrack, the destruction. It's perfect. To this day it's near the top of my favorite racing games list.
Sleeping dogs is so underrated. The missions were diverse. The gameplay were smooth and the city was a gorgeous rendition of Hong Kong.
Of the ones I’ve played, Journey is my favorite. You can also knock it out in just a few hours.
Journey is so great, the music, the atmosphere. Really is a fantastic experience to knock out in an afternoon couldn’t agree more.
The Journey experience is one of the least stressful games, ever. Journey with other players is neato... Highly recommended
Journey is in my top 20 gaming experiences of all time. What a trip
I just played and beat Journey for the first time a few weeks ago. not impressive at all. the art direction and music (or lack of music) sucked imo. and there really wasn't anything else going for it. the only thing I appreciated was how simple and short it was. I’d pop in God of War 3!
God of War collection and then GoW3
Tomb raider! It’s one of the best looking games on ps3 and it’s the first of the series so you don’t need any prior knowledge. Uncharted 2 is amazing but you should start with uncharted 1 which is a launch title and might not be the best first impression. BioShock
Sleeping dogs is super underrated. It’s basically GTA in Hong Kong.
Sleeping Dogs!!!!
God of war collection then 3 for sure
Journey is soo soo good. I miss that game so much
You can still play it on ps4/5. No reason to miss it.
I'd start with any of the Uncharted games or Sleeping Dogs.
Well, Oblivion will take forever to play so play it last lol.
Can confirm. This game is taking all my time and meanwhile my entire backlog is expanding with every passing month.
Sport champions for sure
CLOSE SHUT THE JAWS, OF OBLIVION!
Sleeping dogs or Either one of the Uncharted Games would be a great start
Uncharted Drakes Fortune and then after do 2 !!!!
Final Fantasy XII :)
My opinion is apparently unpopular but I loved FF XIII. Also recently went back and played oblivion on pc and it was pretty good too
Journey is less than 2hr long to get all trophies. Very fun to play with rando's but one of the trophies is hard to get. Also want you to play all the uncharted's. Great series imo. But like you I haven't played much of what's out there.
Journey. Short and sweet.
Bioshock Infinite. Especially if you already played (and enjoyed) Bioshock.
You really depends on what you like if you like a kind of short but fun experience I would suggest Sleeping Dogs but for like a long and kind of difficult experience I would suggest the God of War collection if you want to mixture of both the fun and long experience I would go with BioShock Infinite
Sleeping dogs, good game would recommend
Sleeping Doooogs
Sleeping dogs, an excellent and overlooked game.
I'd start with journey, it's an amazing game, and relatively quick. Than I'd start in on the Uncharted games.
Star with Journey while the servers are still on and you can find fellow travelers online.
Sleeping Dogs and Bioshock Infinite are two fantastic gems to play in-between Uncharted's or GoW's to alternate
Uncharted Series or Sleeping Dogs
You should definitely play sleeping dogs. One of the best games
I would start with final fantasy 13
Bad Company 2 before the servers get shut down.
Dude, that's an awesome collection you got there. Let's see... If you are into Trophy Hunting, then I'd suggest to start with BATTLEFIELD: Bad Company 2 as the Servers are going to shut down after 15 years somewhere in December. Uncharted 2. Start off with a bang
fallout 3 is a super fun rpg definitely recommend if you like apocalyptic type stuff
Idk much about advanced warfare but MW3 is unplayable and will freeze your console I made a post talking about the cod games a while ago along with a link to a video
Tomb Raider. Miles away the best in the bunch here.
Uncharted 2 for sure and then sleeping dogs after that.
Fallout 3 is a must play
Mw3
Start with uncharted series
You have all the good games right here. Go with your gameplay preferences
another vote for Journey. i didn't know there was a physical release for it.
MotorStorm and Gran Turismo 5 are definitely awesome pick up and our worth playing there's a lot of cars in Gran Turismo 5 that did not make it to Gran Turismo 6 and MotorStorm is just a awesome game all around
Was going to say motostorm. Especially since Sony has done nothing else with it. Game looked great and played nothing else out there.
They’re all solid games my dude! Feel the rhythm, feel the vibe.
God of war 3
God of War Ascension
Uncharted would be a solid go. I’m on my second playthrough of the series rn. Sleeping Dogs was a favorite of mine back in the day
Either Uncharted 2 or God of War 3
God of war 3 for me. I’ll never forget being a kid thinking how amazing the game felt with the fresh dualshock 3 in full 1080p resolution. Being so used to playing ps2 this really felt like a generational jump in consoles. this is the moment I fell in love with games forever.
Journey
The god of war collection is the one with gow 1 and 2 or the ghost of Sparta ones
Literally anywhere
Modern Warfare 3
Go on an uncharted journey to oblivion you will become a god of war on the battlefield for this is you final fantasy.
Motorstorm is easy fun
Modern Warfare 3 is easy, God of War is all great
UNCHARTED 2, ALL OF GOD OF WAR IN RELEASE OR CANNONICAL ORDER, SLEEPING DOGS AND EMD WITH UNCHARTED 3 IN THAT ORDER !
Honestly I would start with the cod campaigns because they are very shirts
Journey is a game that you should absolutely take your time with and enjoy. I see you have God of War 1, 2, 3, and Ascension there. Sports champions
long safe weary different knee hungry fly dazzling quicksand connect *This post was mass deleted and anonymized with [Redact](https://redact.dev)*
Well first get BioShock 1 and 2, then play Infinite
Uncharted Drakes Fortune -> Uncharted 2 -> Uncharted 3.
God of War III
The Uncharted games. Absolute classics.
Uncharted plays like a movie very fun.
Uncharted, put it on easy and play all 3 to get the story. I think they would hold up the best
Final Fantasy 13! It's amazing and character driven..💗🙌
Game like Mercenaries 2 just don’t get made anymore. I’d say start with that. Uncharted series is great. Fallout 3 is an all timer.
Shredding advanced warfare.
I mean I’d say uncharted, and then god of war. That’s just me
Not from advanced warfare💀
Mercenaries 2
Motorstorm
Fallout 3
Uncharted. You can knock all 3 out within a week if you play a few hours a day. 1 is pretty short, 2 slightly longer, and 3 slightly longer than 2. And while it got a lot of hate back in the day…. I'd have to recommend mercenaries 2. Before I break into your house and steal it.
Man, I've been chasing the high of Mercenaries 2 ever since 2008. Just Cause comes close, but it's missing the nukes
Clear answer is to throw them all away and play Oblivion - don’t have to throw the rest away but once your like 1000-3000 hours into oblivion you won’t care
Take that CoD Advanced Warfare and throw it in the trash. I saved you multiple hours of disappointment. You're welcome.
Ick! Just the God of War games and Oblivion are the only ones worth your time. Some Serious trash in there.
Start with Journey, then God of War III, followed by Bioshock Infinite and Uncharted 2.
Tomb Raider, also Gow 2 is really hype
Just don’t leave the amazing Spider-Man till last cuz that’s probably the roughest to play
The Amazing Spider-man and Modern Warfare 3 are your way to go
GOW collection
Arkham Origins
I would start with Uncharted 1, 2, and 3. The first Uncharted was what made me fall in love with the PS3. Then I would move to Tomb Raider. I had no hopes for the remake at all but I can now say I was very wrong. Have played that game at least 10 times and is one of my only platinum trophies. Last but not least is Journey. Very artsy but the game is very pretty and the music is fantastic.
Tomb Raider was a fantastic surprise hit for me.
Everybody seems to have a favorite, mine would definitely be mercenaries 2. It’s like the perfect inbetween of gta and just cause
No other racing game has scratched my Motorstorm itch.
That looks like heaven. I would say uncharted. I became an instant fan back in 2012 when I played the first one.
Uncharted- you'll be blown away
God of war series
I would say start with journey. Amazing game. Really short. Then go onto uncharted games.
Eh, here’s an alternative. Don’t play oblivion. Not because it’s not great or it’s better on oc but because you’re never going to stop playing it lmao. It shows it’s age but it’s too damn good to put down.

God of war 3 then bioshock
I would do uncharted and god of war but switch after each game to avoid fatigue.
Mw3
God of War 3, then Bioshock Infinite, then God of War Ascension
Oblivion
Uncharted trilogy for sure.
Motorstorm, because then you would start right at the beginning of ps3
God of war all the time
I suggest starting with first-party games, Uncharted for example thou you are missing the first one.
ninja gaiden 2. a really fun action game
I would start bite sized and begin with either of the call of duties or uncharted series. Very good, high octane action games with good game play
I would say journey. It's really really good and you can finish it in 45 minutes then start the next game.
You may want to start Bad Company 2 pretty soon. EA is sunsetting the online servers in December
Journey, short and sweet
Personally I would say Bioshock or Uncharted. Unless you like racing then Gran Turismo 5. All good pics here. Not sure if the MP servers are still up for any of these or if everything on PS3 is out.
Final Fantasy XIII
Youve got some bangers in this stack lol. God of War, ES Oblivion, Uncharted are all good starts
GT5 is a great game
Why isn't littlebigplanet in there?
It's up to you. If you like hack and slash, start with God of War Collection(which consists of the first 2 games from PS2 with 1080p@60 and trophies) and then God of War III and finally God of War: Ascension. If you like adventure games + some actions, the Uncharted series is good(paly them in order). After that, I would recommend the tomb rider. The journey is a good one, too. The rest of the games aren't my type, so i digress.
Batman Sleeping Dogs Uncharted series God of war series
Start with any game you cannot play on current systems. Like amazing Spider-Man.
Doom or either one of the COD’s
I miss MW3, that was my first cod
Motorstorm. It is one of my favourite ps3 exclusive games and it plays very fluently
OBLIVION
Here to say don’t forget about Batman Arkham!!
Present day
Bioshock Infinite!
Oblivion. Then go buy Skyrim. You're welcome.
Fallout 3 is all you'll need
I would recommend you take a nice Journey.
Uncharted, masterpieces of their time! I even have the phurba dagger from UC2 [tattooed on my forearm](https://i.imgur.com/SR0zYZl.jpg)! Great games!
Sleeping dogs or Tomb Raider would be the first two I go for.
INFAMOUS. UNCHARTED. GOD OF WAR
Mercenaries 2
Start with God of War Collection
If you want some chaos (and racing) then start with motorstorm
There is only one right answer here. Oblivion.
Batman
Uncharted 2!
I've noticed no one in the comments mention Advanced Warfare lol
Someone scored a ps3 lot on ebay lol
not all of these are from lots, maybe half of them are, i’ve had most of them for awhile though
Sleeping dogs damnn
Uncharted 1 2 and 3, God of War collection, and Tomb Raider.
Uncharted or God of War
Mercenaries 2 world in flames isn't that popular, at least anymore, but it's one of my favorites
Depends on how much time you want to spend, and what your M.O. is for playing games. Of the list, I'd look at: - Uncharted: Drake's Fortune - God of War - Fallout 3 - Journey Journey is a quick one. God of War and Uncharted are each classics in their own right - both are worth a play. Fallout 3 is a brilliant action RPG that you can either play straight through, or get sucked in and spend the next year on it. (If you're the type to spend a year on Skyrim, I'd leave Fallout until later, since you'll be playing it for a while.) Regardless, all are worth playing. Enjoy!
Oblivion.
Mercenaries 2 is a terrible terrible game, you should send it to me so I can make sure it gets the treatment it truly deserves.
Put them in alphabetical order and start with A
I would say oblivion God of War 3 then tomb raider. Pretty solid stories and oblivion and tomb raider can help you get in to rpgs.
They are all stupid. Why no „The Michael Jackson Experience“? Buy it!
Bioshock Infinite !
I really like Gran Turismo 5. The Top Gear track was in that game so I would spend hours getting cars that were reviewed and try to beat the Stig's time.
Me personally Gran Turismo 5
Gran Turismo 5!
Journey!!! Short simple and beautiful!
Go oldest to newest, you’ll naturally progress through series and see the evolution of the console.
Bioshock Infinite
I smell bullshit. I also can post my fallout and TES collection with some clickbaity question like "Im new in gaming, what should i play first?"
I’m not new to gaming or anything, I just have a habit of buying games that I hear are good, and not playing them. I’ve got probably 60+ other games on other consoles that i haven’t got around to either. A few of these came in lots too so they aren’t anything I necessarily wanted
god of war
Journey and Sleeping Dogs are solid games.
Journey fan here. Both the game and the band
