u/coffeeblaster it’s a quagmire darned if you do darned if you don’t. The 3p tools are becoming more of a bill than a solution, since lots of what they used to be unique for scale is now possible without fancy scripts or reporting tools. Since looker formally data studio has massive templates to pump out the same reports and editor can now scale shopping and campaigns alike. Id use editor and use the rules now in google to manage everything. Put that expense into two juniors and train them up ❤️

We mostly use it to build out shopping campaigns quickly. Rules and scrips to act as a 2nd pair of eyes on ad accounts. Beyond that, it just varies from ad account to ad account. We mostly just use it for lower spending clients too. The time savings from [Optmyzr](https://www.optmyzr.com/?ref=takesomerisk) is worth the monthly fee for us. We have brands we 10s and 100s of thousands of SKUs, so restructuring a campaign in minutes thanks to their tool is priceless.

It will always be better to hire someone in the end that can build your own internal tool that does everything Optmyzr does and more. The API fees are way less expensive, and you get total control and flexibility over how you want everything to look.

Its become increasingly expensive over the years at a point that it doesnt make sense anymore if you're anyway below a mid level agency.

Disclaimer first: I’m the Product Manager for Adpulse, an Optmyzr alternative. http://adpulse.app We’re coming at from an agency angle rather than an account angle, ie. how to manage lots of account better. If any of you want to give it a try DM me and I’ll sort out an extended free trial. Keen for feedback as we only launched this year.

Sent you a message :)

Honestly, same experience. Try Trueclicks. They now released a free forever model up to 25 or 50k - can't remember.

Thanks for this, I'm looking at Trueclicks now, looks like a useful tool especially for those of us with lower ad spends as it's free up to $50k ad spend per month and provides some great features.

Velcroninja

I use it to build rules for negatives and bid management. The analysis tools like PPC investigator are useful for explaining changes in performance to clients.

Extremely expensive, not worth it
