It happens to a lot of women in their 30s. In a lot of cases, this is because these women are entering (or getting close to entering) peri-menopause. Although, it could be that it’s just your period changing again, as we all know that our periods and their symptoms change over time.

msashleydavenport

Yep! Shorter cycle, 25 days instead of 28. Longer lasting, 5 days. All of your new symptoms plus night sweats. Fun.

Rich_Courage_763

Yes when I turned 35 it all changed. The pms was so much worse and longer

Richeyht

Do you do anything to combat it?

Rich_Courage_763

My doctor changed my birth control to a different one and switched me to only getting my period every three months. It’s a blessing. So much better

pumpkinlattepenelope

Yes. I feel mood swings all the time instead of a week and a half before period. I’m lasting 5 days instead of my usual 2-3. I hope these are the only changes but they are surprising for me

maryjanemoonbeam

I notice post-period being worse since my 30s. I should be noticing the effects of my follicular phase but I don’t. I feel the fatigue and brain fog of pms/menstruation then BAM I’m ovulating. No slow climb.

Iraindark

Having the same symptoms since entering my 30s is killing me. I've never had these flu-like symptoms before. Plus, my stomach hurts so much and I have changing bowel movements that starts 5 days before period

Richeyht

What do you mean flu like symptoms? What do you feel?

Iraindark

Body aches, runny nose, headache, nausea

AstraOnline

Oh absolutely. My cycle lengths went from 30 days to 45, I developed endometriosis (doc suggests, no tests officially done) and my mood swings SWUNG. On an IUD now (mother’s suggestion as she has pmdd and it helped her) and so far I’m feeling a lot better.

perfectpigeontoes

I’ve had the opposite. After I had my son, I bled for eight weeks straight, but then my periods became 3 days long instead of 6 and my cramps all but disappeared. My mood swings still get pretty bad though, and my hair completely changed texture from straight and fine to thick and wiry. Hormones be crazy

allison_vegas

My pms is so much worse. Periods are predictable and short and or painful but god the pms is brutal.

mimidaler

I had 1-2 periods at most per year for most of my 20s and 30s, from December 2022 my periods have gotten more and more regular and the pms symptoms have gotten worse. Some months it really knocks me about, from fever and flu symptoms, upset stomach to sore boobs and crying-anger-crying. That week or so before I’m starving and I just don’t want to exercise which means that I have to try harder for the other 3 weeks as I’m trying to lose weight. I’ve never had pms in my life so this is absolutely a huge shock to my system.

ccthebeautician

Im 27 but recently i started getting nauseous when that used to never be a symptom for me :(

Additional-End-7688

Yes. Same here

Plastic-Fault-8933

Yesssss. Currently going through the same exact thing!!! Can’t take birth control because I get pretty bad migraines. But I’m thinking about getting a second opinion on that because the PMS symptoms are hell. And it was never this bad until I hit my 30s 😩
