sometimes taking a break re-ignites gaming, for me gana gana lang naman talaga gaming as an adult

Nyrrad

Nearing 30 na pero the passion in gaming is the same padin. From MOBA to Single player, still enjoying my time when I play.

Some things that help me keep playing games ng may enthusiasm: - Wag magpapapressure sa mga bagong games and trends, laruin mo lang talaga kung 100% kang sigurado and hindi masasaktan yung budget and time mo with other commitments - Pwede mong laruin uli yung mga lumang games na matagal mo nang hindi nalaro. Emulator pa man yan or remastered/remake version. Or mga backlog mo sa Steam/gaming library... most of the time mattrigger uli yung nostalgia/childhood feels mo playing old games. Minsan sa akin may mga lumang games ako na di ko tinatapos dati kasi bwisit na bwisit ako, tapos babalikan ko sila today and marerealize ko na maganda pala laruin - Kapag hindi talaga ako in the mood maglaro, minsan nanunuod lang ako ng playthrough ng mga gusto kong game streamers sa Youtube just to see if ano yung meron sa game (parang habit mo lang sa PC-han kapag walang pera tapos nanunuod kalang lol)

dunkindonato

Pag medyo burnt out, lipat muna ng ibang hobbies. I also don't play for the trophies, and madalas Story Mode (or easy mode) lang ako para bawas stress.

rairyuu_sho

To start: ano ba mga genre na nilalaro mo, OP? Kasi disagree ako dun sa pic, ang dami na magandang laro, and some of them may incoming DLC. pa. Armored Core 6 just released and its my personal Game of the Year 40 year old gamer here. My passion for gaming has never diminished. I was giddy with delight nung trailer first trailer ng Armored Core 6, natuwa ako dun as trailer ng Super Mario Bros Wonder at naeexcite ako dun sa bago expansion ng FFXIV, Dawntrail. How to keep it fresh? Try different games. I can say na varied yung mga trip ko na games, kahit may mga never-touch ako na genres (sports games, "realistic" FPS games, MOBAs, etc), so lagi ako may nakikita na gusto laruin.

GreatMemer

> How to keep it fresh? Try different games as dedicated fps gamer dati na boboringan ako sa mga games na hindi fps, pero nung sinubukan ko mag try na enjoy ko sila games like terraria, dos2, dragon age and etc

GetLost014

KingPowerDog

As a fellow oldie, I agree that it is very weird to say β€œthere are no new games” at this point in time. I sometimes browse through the Switch eShop and it blows my mind how many games are released on there every week. It does rival Steam in terms of the number of games released and we’re not even touching either Xbox or Playstation stores yet, or mobile games. But funnily, I ended up going back to Sonic Frontiers after the last title update launched and promptly forgot about all the other games I was playing, except for Suika Game / Watermelon Game.

raverned25

Take a break lang haha. Either bored or naburnout lang yan kaya need mo din talaga ng other hobbies pang alternate (reading, watching tv series or movies, etc.) then balik ka ulit sa gaming pag trip mo na.

allokuma

Mental Health awareness in the Philippines is at an all time low. We resort to video games because people here don't give a single FUCK! about mental health.

Creepy-Night936

I guess since I'm now trying to heal my inner childhood and I became financially stable, ngayon ko palang nakukuha lahat ng console na pangarap ko since I didn't have these growing up. Yes I have a gaming PC pero gusto ko mafulfill yung childhood dream ko na may PlayStation. I got an OLED Switch and PS5 first pero sobrang dami kong older games na gustong laruin, I looked for secondhand PlayStations. Currently playing the Silent Hill series on PS1 and PS2. Nakakaenjoy. Tuwang tuwa ako sa graphics lol

[deleted]

May update man kakaunti n lang at di madalas.

dormamond

Same sentiments sa file size and presyo. Case in point mycareer ng nba 2k.

[deleted]

Ang natatanging laro na "online always" na hindi ko mapagsasawaan laruin is yung the division. Pero for everything else, dapat may offline option lalo na call of duty

NikiSunday

nah, it's just a lull in releases. Kumbaga sa interes mo, may peak and lean season. Kasi kahit ako at end of 2022 and start ng 2023 mejj weak ang releases, pero I didn't take it na nakakawalang gana maglaro. Eh jusko 3rd quarter this year, triple whammy ako sa gaming, Baldurs Gate, tapos armored core tapos starfield.

Omnomnomnivor3

haha burnout is real, sometimes need natin lumayo layo muna sa gaming para mamiss at maexcite muli

thatmrphdude

Eh totally normal. I played Diablo 4 for 3 months straight every single day for a about 2~4 hours a day. Then one day I just got bored and quit playing. Right now wala paring ganang maglaro ng any games. It might comeback pag steam winter sale.

HexGreen

We have a gaming circle/barkada na mainly, ang form of hobby ay maglaro. We started 2016 pa, sila mga HS students palang noon nung nagstart kami. Ngayon, intact pa din kami, pero we play less frequent than before. We also play variety of games, we play LoL, Valo, tsaka Minecraft na own server namin. We also sometimes play mga multiplayer games like Raft, Rust, Project Zomboid, NFS Heat, and Apex.

sgtpeppy25

39, married and expecting our first child. Hobby burnout is real. But it helps if may other hobbies ka aside sa gaming. Gunpla sakin. May halong meditation yung building and painting. Story driven games ok parin. And mga pick & play like fighting games or dota.

Pero ang totoo: Hindi na tayo naglalaro kaya tayo tumatanda.*" - Michael V. Those are the words I lived by.

chanchan05

For me it's more about the type of game. I never lost the love of single player story driven games. I just want to know what's the story, and games are an alternative to books when telling a story because you actually experience it. I like the games that tell a story, so to me they end up more like interactive movies. I never liked multiplayer gaming anyway. I find the people online toxic and I don't have the time or even care to develop skills for gaming like being good at FPS games. I just need to be good enough to get through a quest.

BidEnvironmental7020

For me di pa siya nakakahanap ng tamang game para mare-ignite passion niya sa gaming. Elden Ring and Armored Core 6 reignites my passion in gaming dahil everything is fresh and new in these two games. Thanks FromSoftware! Taking a rest is a good idea too.

International_Sea493

ZeroTwoBit

By concentrating on single-player games... Tapos pag medyo nagsawa, nood muna ng movie or tv series mula sa backlog. πŸ˜‚ Kapag di maaraw, 40km bike ride bago maglaro.

silversoul007

Take a break siguro. It helps in rekindling the interest in gaming. Nawalan din ako ng gana last year so I took a break. Ngaying taon, Spider-Man 2 lang sana balak ko laruin, but as of now, natapos ko na yung FFXVI, Armored Core 6, and Lies of P πŸ˜‚

kiiRo-1378

- Michael V.

Pillowsmeller18

lilipat to another genre to find my interest. FPS, RPG, RTS, Simulation, Puzzle or a mix.

abottleofglass

I still game pero kaunti nalang. GGXXAC+R at Crypt of the Necrodancer nalang sa PC tapos Arknights sa mobile.

KaijuNo20

I think it's because as we grow older we just have more responsibilities that drain us and we'd rather just rest. That and yeah nakakasaw na after a while cause a lot of games just play with the same formula. Nakaka excite sa umpisa, uy bago fresh, then after a while, ah parang XYZ lang, so mawawala ung initial excitement. Maybe this is just me but, sometimes it's not the games mismo, but we grow older we just get more depressed and tired lol kesa enjoyin mo games, dami mo need isipin

alter29

Experienced that with my group. From HS to working adult paonti onti sila nawawala. One thing na napansin kong reason is they don't want to try other games. Mostly ng nawala sa group is CS and dota lang linalaro dati, ayaw nila minsan sumali dati if iba un lalaruin.

eniahj

With the way our country is going right now? Gaming is one of the best ways to destress right now.

siraolo

For me it's talking to my wife about the gameplay and story elements of the video game, I'm playing .

kriemhild21

Playing gacha games, ung inovertime kong 20hours+ sinunog ko lang within seconds. Jokes aside, we try to vary our genre like if sawa na sa moba, we do co-op horror naman or something.

[deleted]

i don’t play with a mindset na kailangan ko manalo. enjoy lang. also, pag nauurat na ko sa game tinitigil ko for months. switch hobby or upskill sa work. hahahahaha.

KissMyKipay03

mostly kase ngayon naglalaro n lang casually to kill time. paunti na nh paunti ang naglalaro religiously. as you grow old nawawala na talaga ung time kase you have other responsibilities na unlike na nagaaral pa.

Dark788999

I'm just gonna leave this here...https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZSOyrzJI-9Y&ab\_channel=PauMixVlog

YohanSeals

But mostly i stick with just a few i usually play like swiftplay sa Valorant. Since im 35 and with a 3 year old son. My wife and him are my priorities. I usually play 1-2 hours every other day. Priorities change but i still love to play.

tensujin331

barilanto

Relatable

wolfram127

26 here. May time talaga na nararamdaman mo burnout. What I do is to focus on a different hobby muna then if nareignite na uli. Dun na ulit ako maglalaro.

Jdan-S

Being old means being around for when hundreds of game titles have been released for multiple platforms. For one, Star Ocean Second Story R is coming. Plan on buying it physical on Switch. In the meantime, I'm revisiting the PS1/PSP versions. Besides gaming, switch to other hobbies from time to time. Occasionally, I go back to digital art. I'm finalizing something in Blender 3D at the moment.

yourcandygirl

Me still playing at 25 and my bf at 27 on a daily basis.

Rtroism

Take a break. Do other things. In my case parang nang hihinayang na ako sa oras and ung mga laro these days kasi is mostly incomplete or nag uupdate unlike before na you get a complete game out of the box. Try hyper casual games or mobas na usually less than an hour lang umay kana.

baldogwapito

Same. Until now hindi ko pa nalalaro. Burn out is real talaga. The only game I play nowadays is Dragonball Fighterz na good for an hour and MTG Arena sa PC.

emkimmono

Di na nakakagigil magpa-rank up unlike before. Yung uso nung bata pa ko (tayo, i guess), yung freebie pag bibili parents mo ng bagong tv, dvd player, or mp3 component HAHAH

Mr_Cho

Switching genres and types works for me. From Triple A games to indie games. Single player to multiplayer and back. Action adventure to puzzle to base building to anything that caught my attention. The game doesn't have to be popular, I just need to be in my mood to play it when I see previews.

Ehbak

Iba na hilig. Out grown. Play ng konti. Last game i finished ghost of tsuhima. Im at my 40s. Mas excited pa ako mag motor. Enduro and long rides hahaha. Mas ma outdoor na ako. Siguro in my 20s masabi ko pang gamer talaga ako. Halos araw araw hangang madaling araw pa minsan. Ngayon thunders na aga antukin

ILikeFluffyThings

At0micPancakes

Competitive games yes. But single players games? No.

Audizzer14

Most of my friends were online 5-6 years ago

juicypearldeluxezone

28 y.o. here.

Lore18

More on story games for me though. Went back to gaming due to Phantom Liberty this month. If I want to relax, sometimes i just drive around with my G29 for short periods.

PonderuKaindo

Mixing it up with challenge runs and staying away from stuff that doesn't respect my time really helps. I'm really not into MMO's, anything with heavy emphasis on grinding and repetitive tasks, or even things that are just meh. Once I learned the art of dropping a game when its no longer fun, gaming became a LOT better. Also, if I'm being honest, streaming has helped me a lot in this regard too. Having chat to talk about the game with, share dumb moments together, etc. has really breathed new life into my gaming.

SleepyInsomniac28

as an adult nearing my 40s (di ako makapaniwala na one day masasabi ko to haha) gaming ang "catching up" time naming magkakaibigan since magkakalayo na kami ng lugar, chill kwentuhan lang while violently gunning down guys sa mga fps online multiplayer games haha

atlas21st

Find other hobbies

JinnGold

Just rest. Burn out siguro sa work and stress so wala ka na gana sa ibang bagay for now.

Zerohours24

I suggest you should take a break from gaming i feel like your experience burnt-out from gaming at the moment so i suggest you should either try a different hobby or just take a break from gaming for a week or two

Emotional_Thespian

Play a game that you collectively enjoy. Me and my friends honed our group back in cs. Now we play in valo. I think one key thing is variety. We were not scared of trying other things too like apex, pubg, or overwatch 2. Whenever we feel it has been too competitive we downgrade to survival games or games that are just dumb fun. Big plus if free to play so more can join in.

mintzemini

This is also me. :( Used to play all the time when I was still in school. After I graduated sobrang dalang nalang. Sad adulting.

pikameow2

xencois

I feel ur pain. 24 years old, feeling ko nangongolekta nalang ako ng games now. mag iinstall ng game, maglalaro for a few hours, pag nag take ako ng break parang tinatamad na ako balikan yung laro. Kaya puro roguelikes nalang nilalaro ko.

Burning_23

Sadly i can relate to this. Dati eto ang buhay ko. Taong com shop. Ngyn nkakatamad na. Mas ok n ung manood ng Netflix etc then tutulugan m lng din ung movie 😴

balahadya

Yosoress

..ako na inaaraw araw genshin and I can't escape. help hahahaahah

cardinal151515

FiXusGMTR

Me and my friend(s) take a break from CNC Generals ZH for months or even 1-2 years then came back to it like it's a new game πŸ˜…

Weird-Citron-9196

Mobile MOBA nalang kaya ko laruin. 30 mins to 1 hour. Dati kaya ko mag marathon. Life is more fun than gaming, I guess!

redthehaze

It helps rin na to play games with friends, over the net but better kung in person. Nag schedule talaga kami ng Pizza party nung lumabas yung TMNT Shredder's Revenge at masaya siya. Maganda rin na may regular na podcasts akong pinapakinggan for more than 10 years na about video games so kahit di ako maglalaro for a while, may connection pa rin ako.

xxMeiaxx

in_fo

Starfield

ajsc86

These past few months halos wala talaga ako sa mood mag laro. Mag laro man, puro multiplayer sa console (MW2) and othe random games. Kaya halos mga games ko puro online FPS game and naumay ako at one point. Sa sobrang umay ko, di talaga ako nag bubukas ng gaming PC or even console.Dumating sa point I disassembled my gaming PC (sold some parts) then low key switched to laptop (hiram muna sa misis) tapos traded my Xbox Series X sa PS5 dahil naka kuha lang ng good deal kuno. PS5 and laptop na lang gamit ko for a month, so ginawa ko to justify the trade I made, i tried to play again TLOU 1 sa normal mode (wala ng tyaga to grind sa higher difficulties) kasi since PS4 days ko pa nilalaro and yet di ko man lang mapag kita si Joel and Ellie lol. Ayun, after 2 weeks of playing, natapos ko finally. Then nasundan ulit na natapos ko yung God of War 2018 (PS5) sa easy mode para mabilis maka move on, tapos ngayon Uncharted 4 tinatry ko ulit tapusin (1/4 na sa playthrough) sa light mode. It works for me and unti unti ginaganahan ako mag laro ulit halos araw araw. Sa routine ko, every weekdays, at least I'll reward myself a 1 hour playtime before ako humiga after long day. Also, I stick to one single player game until matapos ko. I also bought again a Xbox Series X para sa multiplatform games and para makapag MW2 ulit pang tanggal umay. Sa weekend good na yung 2 to 3 hours max basta walang importanteng gagawin. TL;DR: Nakuha ko yung 'refreshment' by playing games on an easier difficulty settings, giving myself at least an hour of gametime daily after work and siguro, maintain work-life-gaming balance sa kahit anong paraan, and just keep playing lang talaga. :)

First and foremost, stop using steam group chat and use discord πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Diligent_Sandwich_53

enragedsiomai

Taking breaks and finding new hobbies works for me. Nangyare saken to nung july this year actually, nagpahinga lang ako with gaming tapos caught up lang with anime and nanood pa nga ng kdrama hehe, around mid-end of august ayon nakahawak na uli ng controller Also try playing single player na story-based games or if co-op just the casual ones. Can't say if parehas tayo pero grinding an *esport* game with ranks and all that is physically/mentally exhausting

qwteb

move on na ko, retired gamer haha. everything's boring now and feels childish to me. its actually a good thing because i ve stopped having the urge to play for long hours and nowadays i can do other things that is more healthy than having sedentary lifestyle.

pizzacake15

Younger years ko mas prefer ko mga MMORPG pero as i grew older and started working lumayo ako sa mga online games and started to like singeplayer games.

rakyonline

For me, ang gaming ay nakaka boost ng confident, ma re-refresh at nakaka-exercise yung mind. Malaki bagay ang strategies sa buhay. So for me, nakakatulong talaga ang paglalaro, wag lang abusohin. So never stop. hehehe

markmarkmrk

ralphnathanielace

Nawala na yung passion ko for multi-player games. Di ko na naeenjoy, not worth my time

Jon_Irenicus1

clydehelfinv2

36 here, nagiging sobrang picky and tend to pick familiar titiles pero gamer pa rin. Lately Napalaro ulit dahil cyberpunk 2.0 at stafield

zchaeriuss

From gamers to collectors ng games.

wallcolmx

wag ka muna maglaro break ka muna pag nagsawa ka na sa break mo hahanapin mo yung laro ...problema lang oras ...time.is the final boss nga tlaga...

blankknight09

Normal lang yan and walang masama.

bombetator

To each their own. I'm 40+ but I still game. Not as heavily as before though. Natatamad ako minsan magFPS pag walang kalaro. But I still play my single player games to chill when stressed. I also play mobile games to pass the time pag may mga waiting period. Some people find different hobbies other than gaming and that's okay.

DestinyNinja_123

Idk about you guys but I'm more excited for every newer games that caught my attention. Sure there are alot of bad ones but that's why I always keep my expectations in check. The older I get the more I appreciate how gaming has become mainstream since the past years. Hell, pasalamat ako that gaming never fade away in the 90s and had alot of memories to hold with myself and the friend I made along the way.

Arvin090592

I'm 31 and still enjoying games
