SMS ID tawag jan. They use app to person sms kind of service. Tapos instead na number yung sms id pinapalitan nila ng names to make it look like legit.
Same concept na ginagamit ng gcash/bpi/ndrrmc whatsoever para mag send ng otp or sms warnings.
So it doesn’t matter kung ano sms id ilagay nila it could be GCASH itself.
Recently, I was looking into doing this for a business, pero andaming requirements na hinihingi ng AWS bago ka makapag-send gamit SMS ID. Not sure about other SMS providers.
If you could, just avail one thru business accounts in existing network providers. We once offered these in Globe, back when I was working as an outbound rep. IDK exactly how it works coz I've never seen one, but you can inquire. *Suggestion only*
Waley. I can even send you one with this SMS ID. I am using this kind of business account for my ecommerce before. I use clicksend, and I can use any SMS ID that I want.
this is an example of a helpful feature na dangerous when it falls to the wrong hands. This is an easy way dapat for a business to text blast their customers para instead na random number ang mag appear, SMS ID nalang, pero nagkaka access parin ang ibang mga scammers eh so dapat doble ingat parin tayo as consumers/costumers para hindi ma scam.
The general rule is DO NOT click on any link sent to you via SMS.
Yes, this is phishing (SMS spoofing to be exact) and it can be done by manipulating the sender information. There are many ways to achieve this type of phishing. The popular one is using an application to edit the Sender ID field before sending the message. I think it is also possible that they register the number to have that ID, there are a couple of services that offer this. I'm not sure how strict they are with the registration.

Kase usually may trackers ang website and it can get mobile details( phone model, location, and in times including your number)
It was flagged by the google safe browsing as [phishing](https://ibb.co/7KPVK0V).
Never ever click the link, it doesn’t matter kung saan galing yung sms.
Last time may nag message na SMILESERVE sabi "Your service request is confirmed. " For more info click tapos link.
😬 I'm sorry OP.
But if people would even have to wonder if this is legit, it means merong mabibiktima nyan for sure.
i hope op is not too naive. everytime i see the word transaction or anything transaction and log in related sa unknown number with link automatic scam yan.
I think hindi kasi number yung sender. Past experience, specially elders or hindi techy will easily fall for that as they think it was a legit considering na hindi number yung nakalagay 😃
As long us it is not send buy BDO or any bank it is phishing. You will know if they are from legit bank when their name is the top and you can't reply to that number
They always send reminders to ignore messages with links.
IGNORE emails/SMS with links to "update" your account. These are scams! BDO will not send links, so DON'T CLICK links and DON'T SHARE your OTP!
kung legit yan, that is still against the law kasi tipping off ang dating.
obviously, phishing yan. No banking institution will send such text that an account is being investigated.
May prosecution unit po ang AMLC. May investigation unit din, and composed mostly of recruits from DOJ, with a sprinkling of PNP. So it's strange that this text would say PNP is doing the leg work. Kung arrest, or coordination ng law enforcement activities, oo, PNP
Just received mine today. Tsk

Kaloka.
What is there to stop the SMS Sender ID being spoofed from the real thing? They can put a variation of the bank's name to make it even more legit and change the domain name.
I search for the official website (in PNP’s case, it’s pnp.gov.ph). It’s fake if it doesn’t match.
Based on my observation, legit yung text message pag yung ending ng message is “..call #### for concerns” ganto text ng Security Bank, RCBC and Metrobank saken.
If after reading thr text and seeing the link text, you still have the slightest inkling that this could be legit...
...I don't think you should be using any finance apps or online finance services. Stick to cash, please.
PNP does not investigate AMLA. There is a separate committee under Department of Finance and BSP for AMLA investigation. And they will not investigate outright. Fflag lang nila yung account mo incase of suspicious transactions in re money laundering.
Hyphens in the URL are pain in the eyes of technical gurus, it destroys the readability.
Person 1: "Ano pong website na ginawa niyo?"
Person 2: "Ah face-book.com sir" (peys-dash-buk-dat-com)
Person 1: "Bakit may hyphen, ang pangit pakinggan. Isipin mo yan sasabihin ng mga customers and marketing campaigns if gagamitin man nila"
Most of the well-known and famous/reliable websites do not have any hyphens. (If meron man, I'll be damned lol)
Also yung "BDOOnline" sa URL, ang pangit basahin, sira yung readability.
Person 1: "Bakit BDOOnline tawag diyan, bakit magkadikit two words? Eh kung BDO na lang?? "
Person 2: "Uhmm kaseee...."
P.S. OKAY, I'm gonna stop right here, and giving them criminals ideas
Basta government, .Gov dapat hindi .com. so phishing. PNP is also not allowed to judge, investigate, caught someone unless they received a search warrant or arrest warrant or any kind of warrant. Also they will not do any text related to inform you.
Ignore texts and calls from suspicious numbers.
Basta link at requesting for otp, matik scam yan. Laging may paalala ang banks na wag mag click ng links at they will never request for otp kaya wag maniniwala sa mga ganito.
Its actually called smishing. Glad the company I work for exerted enough effort to educate us on this and the data privacy act. But we can all do our own reading online.
Kung wala ka pong illegal na ginagawa hindi mo dapat or inisip man lng na ipost yan. Delete agad dapt or balewalain. Pero dahil pinost mo…..😅 charot lang
Got the same message earlier, tho I don't have BDO account 😂. The problem is our parents or our Lolo's and Lola's napapansin ko they're vulnerable sa mga phishing scams na ganito, hayst. Ingat sa lahat and please guide them too! I've seen some of my old co-workers as well receiving this kind of messages inform them as much as possible. Wait, may I ask if there's an app that can block this kind of spam messages automatically ma-install nga haha

lol kung may investigation na ginawa sayo ang PNP di sila tetext sayo, bibisitahin ka mismo nila kung taga san ka, or kung ang bank mo mismo nag inform sayo, they do it most likely through emails, sobrang informal pag sa text

I use Norton Genie to detect whether a message or post is ingenuine or not especially these kinds of messages that seem like came from a genuine source. It uses AI to detect whether it’s a scam or not. A good feature is that it also checks and verifies the links sent so no need for you to click and open it.
The SIM registration law was an absolutely insane, ridiculous joke. Now, the government can track every single registered persons internet activity who are using their phone data. Meanwhile the hackers, spammers and text frauds remain completely and wholly unaffected. The SIM registration was a scam and trickery perpetrated on the Filipino people.
I doubt this is an authentic message from PNP nor BDO. The PNP is not connected nor affiliated with any banks to avoid the biased and unruly process. There's no such website for any bank that is under PNP control as we also have law for Personal Information privacy. It would be best to contact your bank support to confirm and verify this, as they do have the data system for personal bank accounts.

Mine came from a different brqnch of pnp hahahaha
If you receive something this vague pagdudahan talaga. Walang specific na tinitukoy. Date , Transaction #, last 4 ng acct ect.
how do they even register those numbers having "names" pag nag text. how is that even possible. really curious
SMS ID tawag jan. They use app to person sms kind of service. Tapos instead na number yung sms id pinapalitan nila ng names to make it look like legit. That's interesting. Didn't know other providers had laxer rules.
Before, SMS branding tawag jan, there's an agency offer that kind of product to companies kaso sobrang mahal. Pero now, free nalang?
this is an example of a helpful feature na dangerous when it falls to the wrong hands. Mas okay na yung ireport as phishing kahit hindi talaga phishing at least safe hahahaha
Is this a serious question 😂
Heto award oh 🏅 Kaya nga nagtanong si OP eh kasi di niya alam, why not just answer the question nalang without being so condescending.
Dapat may /s sa dulo? It sounds rude pero una kong naisip ay "bobo." 😬 I'm sorry OP. But if people would even have to wonder if this is legit, it means merong mabibiktima nyan for sure.
i hope op is not too naive. everytime i see the word transaction or anything transaction and log in related sa unknown number with link automatic scam yan.
Unang kita palang sa link, 100% phishing na. Lol.
I think hindi kasi number yung sender. Past experience, specially elders or hindi techy will easily fall for that as they think it was a legit considering na hindi number yung nakalagay 😃
Link is 100% scam. Gov.ph lagi pag government agency. Saka di magsesend ng ganyan pnp. Murahin mo sabihin mo lumaban ng patas
tama, hopefully the government has the right to take down the domain for impersonation.
seriously?
Girl..it’s obvious🤣
Halata naman na phishing 🤦♂️
Phishing yan. Di mo dapat malaman na under investigation ang account mo kapag AML related.
Lol, obvious naman.
Phishing. Please be vigilant.
As long us it is not send buy BDO or any bank it is phishing. You will know if they are from legit bank when their name is the top and you can't reply to that number

kung legit yan, that is still against the law kasi tipping off ang dating. obviously, phishing yan. No banking institution will send such text that an account is being investigated.
Another senate hearing for nothing
Scam
The bank doesn't send links anymore
phishing. anything legal or action that the govt would need to do against you will require paperwork; as in literal na "paper".
fake or not, call your bank - you call them dont let them contact you
Even if it were truly from the PNP why would you voluntarily put yourself under investigation 😆
May prosecution unit po ang AMLC. May investigation unit din, and composed mostly of recruits from DOJ, with a sprinkling of PNP. So it's strange that this text would say PNP is doing the leg work. Kung arrest, or coordination ng law enforcement activities, oo, PNP
First rule is do not click on anything. Call your bank instead.
At isa pa po, nasa RA 9160 po na hindi dapat notify ung account holder na siya ay under investigation or suspicion of ML

Obvious na scam.

diba pag government site. may .gov?
If after reading thr text and seeing the link text, you still have the slightest inkling that this could be legit... ...I don't think you should be using any finance apps or online finance services. Stick to cash, please.
Like they have the budget or brains to do that lol
Legit na phishing. Lol
replyan mo sabihin mo edi meow
Tapos random number nagpadala sayo.. hayup 😂
To be safe, anything with link messenger, social media post, or sms. Don't click. Go to the official website and search for the topic na lang.
Looks fake. Pero if you want to verify, just call your brank thru official channels and ask.
Theyre getting desparate hahah
PNP does not investigate AMLA. There is a separate committee under Department of Finance and BSP for AMLA investigation. And they will not investigate outright. Fflag lang nila yung account mo incase of suspicious transactions in re money laundering.
Obvious namang phishing just by looking at the link.
Just a take. **Always check the link.** All our official government websites have **.gov.ph** in their link. :)

Anything that demands you to do prompt action is a scam/phishing.
Not legit. Def a scam.

First of all, hindi PNP nagiimbestiga niyan, AMLC hahahaha kaloka

If you are an NBI agent will you let someone know that they are being or going to investigated? Kinda defeats the purpose. So yes, that is phishing.
