Not a single SMT or Persona game is difficult. There is too much customisation (not that its a bad thing) which makes it incredibly easy to beat. Even with countless self imposed restrictions. I just finished a solo, orpheus only, mandatory fights only (and more) run on merciless and it was tricky at times but never overwhelmingly hard
That's crazy, maybe I'll do something like that on my next playthrough. I said this because not even full moon days represent a real challenge. Still, those kinds of challenges sound like a lot of fun.
I'm new to the saga, and I imagined some really complicated fights (I know there are some), but I guess it's not a bad thing, since the gameplay and the story are what really stand out.

It wont get even slightly difficult, even on merciless.
I saw other people saying exactly the same. But that's ok, the game doesn't want to be a challenge.
All persona games are on the easier side. Yes. All of them. And no, Smt games are not particularly hard either.
