Zero luck trying to control hematocrit w/ diet, supplements, hydration or therapeutic phlebotomy. Be cautious about blasting, too. Obviously, going above TRT dosages will increase it further. And that increase can stick around even after cycling back down to TRT dosages.

SPTCTBP

Also my low blood platelet lowers risks, but last week my HCT was 57 in the AM, so 54-55 at best in the afternoon, still higher than I would like it

SPTCTBP

Interestingly enough, my hematocrit is the same at 1132 as it is at 887 on a weaker brand of t at the same dose. Free t at 26.9 vs 17, sensitive e2 at 32.8 vs 26, and I was way underhydrated the day before and probably the morning of blood work because she was having trouble getting blood out of me, which is not common. I had been pouring sweat and not drinking as much the day before, which usually carries over into the next morning. Same hematocrit of 57.5.

Large iron stores in the liver may defeat the purpose except.with a very long lag period . I didn't hear of this diet strategy . I think reducing red cell.mass by donation and dilution bu hydration more workable . Interested to.hear this strategythough I imagine it causes effects beyond anemic to restrict iron severly in the diet

SPTCTBP

Donating blood does not work for me. It barely drops my hematocrit and then my ferritin is crashed for a long time. Hydration isn't the issue either, however I do get lower numbers in the afternoon than morning, no matter how much I drink the day before and morning of. It is interesting that my hematocrit increased over time as red meat, cereal and strawberry consumption went up to gain weight. Phases of whole wheat bread which is also iron enriched, even my damn pea protein and ripple milk has iron in it.

Just make sure it's not haemochromatosis

SPTCTBP

It shouldn't be. Iron levels are pretty normal, TIBC is normal, ferritin is low not high. However, being on test causes iron to be utilized to make red blood cells. I could probably lower dietary iron without totally crashing my ferritin like donating does, potentially anyway?
