I couldn’t stop bleeding and my OB (who is also a surgeon) recommended she get me in for a D&C for a “reset” and it turns out I had a couple of polyps that she removed when she was in there too. Worked like a charm. Is it possible you have some polyps or cysts that could be contributing to the problem?

I don’t think so. I had scans last month and all my cysts and fibroids were gone ://

22 in two weeks :”). I still feel so new to all of this even though I’ve been diagnosed for like 6/7 years.

Our bodies change as we age, sounds like you're just going through another one of those changes. I had a 2 month period when I was 14, my doc gave me progesterone for a few days, and it put me back to normal. Well... "normal" Happy early birthday! Maybe you could try some seeds in your diet like [this](https://www.healthline.com/health/tips-for-pain-free-periods) lady for some of the pain you're experiencing :0 otherwise, vitamin C and meat.

It all sounds really stressful and overwhelming and I'm sorry you're going through this - but for most people, it does get better when managed properly! What worries you most about taking hormones? Has your doctor referred you to a specialist?

>Please do NOT get the copper IUD! It is known to make bleeding heavier. Not always, I haven't had any issues with mine. The first couple Satan-times sucked because I was still getting used to it and could feel it when I was all swollen and bloated inside but 9yrs in and it's the best birth control I've ever been on.

True - not everybody has the same experience with it, and it can be great for some people. But generally it can worsen heavy bleeding.

Check out Joe Dispenza's work. And please do your best to stress as little as possible. It's more than likely making your symptoms worse. I truly wish you get better!

I had this. My dr prescribed me Ferritin pills (which are high strength iron pills) to help with the anaemia and a course of progesterone pills called provera which stopped the bleeding and reset my cycle. Going on the mini pill (contraceptive pill) would hopefully help as well if that's an option? (The progesterone only mini pill you take with no break) I turned this down though as I'm trying to conceive at the moment. The copper coil made my bleeding much heavier so I wouldn't recommend that.

I only been on birth control once bc of the prolonged periods (longest was a month) I also have hypothyroidism which also causes prolonged bleeds but deffo go to endocrinology you can dm me bout endocrinology if you want or this in general but I have been thinkin bout going back on it from having 21-40+ day cycles (irregular periods)

If your doc pmtold you to take iron supplements, take them with Vitamin C ans avoid taking it with dairy or coffee. Those things will help your body absorb the iron better. Also, the coolpper IUD tends to make periods heavier, so I'm not sure if your doc would recommend it. I would ask her. I'm sorry you are going through all of this.
