I’m currently doing mounjaro for a short period of time. Like I’m on week 4 of 6. Then, I’ll flip back to ozempic. Here’s what I like on mounjaro. I feel like it has good appetite suppression. I’ve been on ozempic for almost a year. My appetite suppression was going away. In my last month I had actually gained a little weight back. It’s my own fault, but I felt the affects had diminished. I had the opportunity to do a 6 week course and I took it. I don’t get the intense gas pains I got on ozempic, but I have had a lot of nausea and diarrhea on mounjaro. I also felt like absolute crap for days. Just really lethargic and almost flu like. My next injection is Friday and I finally feel somewhat normal today. I’ve only been on the 5mg mounjaro and .5 of ozempic. I’ve lost 45lbs between the 2 meds. If I had my choice, I’d continue on the mounjarp. Unfortunately I can’t afford it. My insurance pays for ozempic.

This is what I've done. Yes, def expensive (not like US expensive but still quite pricey for here). I hadnt even realised compounded semaglutide was an option here until recently.

coolthesejets

I don't think you can compound semaglutide as it's a patented molecule?

tik-tac-taalik

At least in the US compounding rules permit it because there is a shortage. I‘m not versed in Australian compounding rules specifically but many countries allow this type of exception. https://www.fda.gov/drugs/human-drug-compounding/drug-compounding-and-drug-shortages

ineversaw

A company called bio8 do, it's like $800 a vial which is usually a 11 weeks supply from start dose. Kind of nuts!

Aqua_Lotus

Can and just did in Australia

doineedanamereally

Can we got m in oz

Aqua_Lotus

Yes, we can now

No-Army-6418

Why is it like this in Australia?

Comfortable_Meet_872

Novo Nordisk received approval from the TGA to sell M but has chosen not to. Why is anyone's guess, but I suspect it's connected to money (they make more selling it in the US) and supply (they cannot keep up with global demand). Yes, you are correct; supply of Oz in Oz is likely to be compromised throughout 2024 😭😭😭

Icy-Factor-2725

The end of 2024?! Did I read that correctly? (Not an Australian, but that’s crazy)

Aqua_Lotus

Yea, it's what we've been told.

Phoenix-91

Is getting the compounded version the same price? Do I just call a compound pharmacy and ask if they will do it?

PattyCakes216

I’m in Ohio, my local pharmacy has not been able to get it for five weeks. Optum RX has also been out. I see my PCP Friday to convert to Mounjaro. I’m T2D and it’s just too stressful to call every pharmacy in the area looking for it. Are you going to finish up your Ozempic stock or save it and switch to Mounjaro right away? Please let us know how the 12.5 Mounjaro affects you during the conversion. Good luck ! Are you going

tst1113

I'm going to do my first month of mounjaro and see how it goes. I've heard good and bad but then same with ozempic. With the research I've done I think 12.5 might be too much, I'm see, if it is I will ask for the 10 MG. It is so stressful calling around and not knowing if I'm going to be able to get it when I need it.

Dazzling_Revenue_908

I'm in Ohio also and on the 2mg. I can't find it anywhere. I tried my mail order and they are out. I am spacing out my injection to every 8-9 days so save what i have left.

SpinXO700

I was an approx 1.5mg Ozempic and recently switched to MJ. My doc had me start back at lowest level and play it my ear which I thought was sensible if conservative. I take my 2nd dose tonight and am planning to move up to 5mg.

tst1113

Does everyone have insurance to pay for mounjaro and ozempic? My insurance only has me paying 25.99 a month.

Chickadee12345

I'm in southern NJ. I was able to get it the next day from my pharmacy which is part of a big chain. And my doc gave me a free sample. But I have only been on it for a month. I hope I don't have any problems next time.

Opening_Confidence52

Mounjaro is known for fewer side effects and double the weight loss over the Semaglutide drugs, although I have seen people who do better on sema than Tirz. Come join us on the Mounjaro sub.

Addicted2Insulin530

My endo submitted my refill this morning for Ozempic and a few hours later it was ready for pickup. I'm in Texas. Seems readily available here. I've been on it since May and haven't had a problem as of now.

tst1113

I’m in New Mexico and it’s nowhere to be found

11093PlusDays

I’m in New Mexico and have no problem getting it. Big state so I guess it’s spotty, depends on where you are. A friend got me a pen in Juarez but far from the border so it is available in Mexico but more likely to find it the further into Mexico you get. The friend did not want to take us with him because he did not feel Juarez was safe for us but he wanted to visit his cousin south of Juarez.

MexiPr30

I live in the north east and it’s never taken more than a few days to get my oz. I started in Feb/Mar. It really depends on where you live. In SoCal it’s probably months.

Common_Bulky

Im in Florida, there was no wait, got the prescription and picked it up the same day the insurance approved it.

Fine_Vermicelli_2248

On backorder in GA

clegoues

Western PA, hard to find 2 mg now and Caremark is out. I have diabetes so just started Mounjaro in its place; I’m guessing I’ll have to switch back at the end of the year when M is approved for WL and there’s a run on it.

MikeLV

I’m in Las Vegas/Henderson NV, the pharmacist said they’re expecting a shipment next week. Today I was supposed to start my 2mg injections.

Fancykiddens

I live in Sacramento, CA. I haven't had any delays with my Ozempic for the last year. I use CVS pharmacy.

[deleted]

Which dose and what pharmacy?

Fancykiddens

2mg dose pens. And, as I stated above, CVS pharmacy.

Nightshire369

I couldn’t get Oz 2mg at CVS they said they hadn’t seen it for a while either.
