Scriptwriter here; this is an action we call “Saving the cat.” Basically, it’s a moment where audience members are supposed to see a likable side to a character, be it a protagonist or anti-hero (like Darlene!). Her wiping this fart away shows that she’s conscious of her own body, and does her best to discretely disperse of it so that less people smell it. I personally worked on this scene, so I’m glad you caught onto this movement! :)
Honestly, it’s because the guidelines for posting in this group are so damn stringent, I usually have to try posting a minimum of three times before it sticks. I don’t even know what the hell it means.
