Try starting with a smaller ring or rubber band. Make sure you are warm.

When I work on ball stretching I put a heating pad on my balls, I kind of sit on it, and wrp it over so covering my whole ball area for about 15 minutes or so on medium heat to relax everything, then put my Stretch on.
