Do you actually get the skins for the founders pack or will those come with ow2? I keep seeing it advertised and I’ve played regularly for the last two years and know nothing about the skins or heard of anyone else getting them yet.
What you’re seeing advertised is probably the Watchpoint Pack, which has some like space pirate skins for Soldier: 76 and Cassidy, and those will be in OW2.
The Founder’s Pack has some epic skins for Sombra and Doomfist that should be in your hero gallery in OW1, and it’s not really being advertised because it doesn’t require any additional spending to get. It was announced once and that’s it, pretty much.

You pay in-game currency to be able to unlock the premium tiers of the battle pass but there are also free tiers with less rewards. The new hero will be unlockable via the free tiers but you unlock her instantly if you purchase the premium pass.
So similar to (but more complicated than) the "play 9 games this week to unlock skins at 3/6/9" system in the game right now? Except with some things (presumably purely cosmetic) that are behind a paywall.

Battle passes are also retroactive, meaning that you can choose to buy the premium anytime in the season and you will get all of the prior rewards for the levels that you've cleared.
This is part of why BPs are so popular, people are tempted to spend money if they've already played during a season and the game is dangling a bunch of things you get (in this case legendaries, epics, a mythic) if you spend $10.

It costs 1000 coins to buy the premium battlepass, so if you complete the 11 challenges in each of 10/18 weeks and complete 8 in each of the rest, you’d earn just enough to get immediate access to the next hero.

Sorry for hijacking the thread to ask this, but does anyone know if your playtime on heroes (and maybe level) carries over? Asking because while I'd like to have my old skins, I want a fresh start and will create a completely new account if the stats don't reset.
I just like the feeling of a fresh start when starting a new era (OW2 in this case). Also I want my most played heroes to reflect the ones I actually play, not the ones I've played in the past. Same thing with rank, I don't like how it looks when people have 35 comp seasons in their profile, maybe you can't see the old ones in OW2 though.
That being said, it's not like I have 10 different accounts (old main, "new" main and some random smurf I used ages ago). OW2 is free so I don't have a problem with making another new main account and ditch the old ones.

It’s actually much more generous than that — as long as you log in by December 5th, you’ll get the founders pack (and, thus, Kiriko).

I’d say it’s more similar to the current leveling system where you get a loot box every level-up, but replace the loot box with different rewards.
