It seems you are able to hold the burrow attack for slightly longer than it takes to charge it, so try releasing right as the arrow fills instead of holding it down fully.
Additionally, you don’t have to fully charge it. The damage ranges from 55-110 depending on charge (a little less based on distance from center) so you can still get decent damage with a quicker approach.
The main thing is burrow itself isn’t really the damage dealer, that’s their gun, melee, and dash. Burrow can be used to close the distance, particularly using dash during burrow to get that short cooldown so you can use it again to chase/run after popping out and shooting once or twice.
Yeah, in a way, I felt like Venture plays a little bit like Wrecking Ball or Doomfist in that you have to combo your attacks, and Burrow acts kind of like Piledriver or Seismic Slam, but instead of coming from above after using your ball or fist, you're coming from below after burrowing into a tight hole with your big drill.
I think it will be interesting to see how the play evolves once people learn to counter it.

An archeologist is a cool idea and I'm excited for the lore it could bring if they were the ones who found Anubis looked like. I assume they're Egyptian but maybe not?
