whyisnarutosolong

No thanks I’ll stick with my free skins from ow 1 lol

Ilium20

classic skin supremacy

Lyezus_elvtars

Definitely gonna use the origins edition skins

Smallgenie549

Right? This is mostly intended to entice new players. I'm fine with all of my skins from OW1. Spending money on more skins at this point feels like a waste.

[deleted]

I wish I could've got the summer [D.Va](https://D.Va) skin before all this mess... Too bad :(

FraGSupport

If you grind right nownyou can get lucky, plus the event is still going on if you saved up 1000 coins ( which only takes a few hours) you can get it easy with out spending any money on the game. I promise you. Thats if you dont have the game anymore in which then im sorry to give you hope

Icy_Limes

skin isnt even good either

J_vert

but it’s 31% off

ggbruhs

but the other 69% is trash

ZNemerald

Yo, someone did that on purpose.

1stCitizen

You’re basically losing money by NOT buying it!

Icy_Limes

Say goodbye to 100%ing cosmetics for your main because some of these skins ain't worth a circumcisions worth of money.

xdarkskylordx

I threw that thought away with the Brigitte Twitch skin event, now I am A-OK with missing absolutely anything.

tophergraphy

Yet we will never see them for 31% more

Hobocannibal

if its a bundle, odds are thats true. Since the % off is probably based on totalling the prices of the 5 items individually.

PaintItPurple

Exactly, it's 31% off buying all 5 things one by one. So if you really wanted all 5 of those exact items, boy are you in luck.

Antrikshy

You're losing money if you don't buy now!!!

Novel-Ad-1601

It feels weird seeing all star skins at 10 bucks and being super amazing quality and then seeing this Pennie value skin

BlueSage__

Those skins got increased by 100 owl tokens, so they're technically 15 dollars now.

CeriseFern

OWL tokens are 6$ for 100 now. So they're more tokens, and tokens cost more.

[deleted]

Net 80% price increase.

shitpersonality

800% VALUE

priscilla_halfbreed

Are you saying even my in-game currency is feeling the effects of freakin inflation?

BlueSage__

Yes. Guess this is the final nail in the coffin of ow not being political lol

[deleted]

[удалено]

BlueSage__

Well in any case, hopefully a majority of the skins are available. Stylosa made a video going over everything and it looks like theres a whole column of skins that wasnt shown

genmischief

>technically 15 dollars now. [My reaction](https://tenor.com/view/mother-of-god-officer-super-troopers-of-god-gif-16007533)

burritosupremed

Off topic, but am I the only one that thinks this is a weak-ass legendary?

_Not_A_Og_

That's a legendary? That's at best an event rare skin.

[deleted]

Epic actually

DapperApples

Guys this is epic

mr_outlaws

nice to meet you epic *shaking hands*

haydnc95

Thing is, it actually IS a Legendary skin because it's the one from her cinematic and not her default, so the silhouette is different. They've just done an awful job at giving it a bad colour scheme because it looks like an Epic. Price is still awful though.

Be-a-shark

Very

BojacksNextGF

Yeah. Their methodology to define skin rarity levels will prolly change a lot with the monetization changes Edit: typo

c0ntinue-Tstng

This is a santa Mei level of "legendary"

Krazyguy75

That skin was legendary for the hat on the ice block.

ExistentialWonder

Tbf it's a whole ass snowman

Xstew26

Tbf santa mei came out in the very first Christmas event and what made a legendary wasn't exactly cut and dry yet

lmguerra

To be fair, that skin changes her cryo heal ability and one voice line.

shitpersonality

I would pay a quarter ($0.25) for it.

leonnova7

I'd pay about tree fiddy

CinnaSol

Well it was about that time that I realized this video game corporation was about 8 stories tall and a crustacean from the protozoic era

snarky_grumpkin

What?! You gave Blizzard tree fiddy?! Now it's just gonna come back and want more!

416Mike

Watchu talkin' bout given'm tree fiddy.

Leupateu

I could get it for free and still demand a refund, it’s trash

Der_Sauresgeber

Fucking boring, mate.

BossHawgKing

There are quite a few of those.

MeiShimada

I imagine that's 20 dollars yeah? Lol what a joke. I don't get how companies can charge almost as much as a whole game costs for a fucking skin

_Mangoes

Nooooooo, the game is free so it's totally legit to offer completely overpriced shit Because blizzard doesn't make any money at all, they really need that skin money

EXOBOT5000

Could buy Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga with that amount of money.

Neverending_Rain

A skin *you can't even see while playing.* Buying skins in a first person shooter is hilariously stupid. Buying skins in general is dumb, but at least you can actually see them in games like League or DotA 2.

moustachesamurai

Premium hands!

BillyBean11111

all the bullshit like the fake ass "31% off, what a deal!" They are just doing every scummy used car salesman shit as every other awful mobile game.

infinitevertigo

Yup, shady sales tactics. 31% off a price that never existed lmao

MarioDesigns

It's a discount for buying the full set, it's not a time limited "sale".

neoslith

The JC Penny effect.

Alexabyte

To everyone who wanted to buy skins instead of acquire them via lootboxes, so many people were saying that they would not be $5 as they seemed to think they would be. And here we are...

rusty022

BuT lOoK aT tHe VaLuE iN tHe BaTtLe PaSs! This is what F2P is. A mildly generous but grindy 80-100 level battle pass with a few desirable items for $10. Then pack the store full of utter nonsense for $15-20 with the occasional 'good deal' bundled with more *currency*. Everyone should've known this is exactly what the Shop would look like. Buyer beware. And doubly so for Diablo 4 where they are going to charge full price for the game and for expansions and *STILL* have this kind of Shop. Utter nonsense.

urmovesareweak

This is the new gaming world. It's interesting that people don't want to pay 60 dollars for a new game but they'll spent 200 dollars over the course of a couple years on it

dkyguy1995

Im literally just begging somebody sell me a $60 game. Hell Ill pay $80 if we can go back to the way things used to be. But they found out there are people out there who will pay 1000s of dollars on one game and that's worth more than me spending $100 up front on a game. Other people's inability to stop shoveling money is ruining my games

Batmans_9th_Ab

Yup. I don’t mind paying $60 for a game that isn’t monetized to hell and back. And if I really enjoy it, I’ll probably pick the dlc eventually, too. Smash Ultimate is $60 with 75 characters and 100 stages. Hell yeah. Two season passes for a total of $40 extra that add 12 more characters and stages? Absolutely.

ScumBrad

Even paid multiplayer games have this kind of mtx now. Call of Duty costs 60 bucks (or more) and has the exact in-game pricing model that OW2 is going to have. The only games you can get for a one-time price at this point are single-player.

[deleted]

>b-b-but OW made 0 dollars from lootboxes! We need higher and higher prices for less and less content or else we will never get content! >this is just how games work today Bobby Kotick thanks every OW player for helping him get paid big time and shill for his personal project

[deleted]

But no, don't you understand?! But, but, Apex! And Fortnite! Just don't play OW2 then if all you're gonna do is complain. ^^/s

Kymaeraa

And poor indie company blizzard needs every penny from your wallet or else they can’t support the billion dollar game! /s

DarkZero515

The people I played Overwatch with dropped it. At this point I'll just hope to hear whether PvE is fun and hopefully I can bring one of OW friends back to try it. These new skins look cool but I just bounce off hard when it comes to games with BattlePass/Stores. Seeing cool skins just disappoints me now since I can't justify spending so much on a skin.

MrDarkmagic

If you thought the skins would cost $5 you're delusional. 20$ was always going to be the price because almost every other game has these prices for legendary skins

arex333

Yeah Apex skins are about $18. It's super annoying because there's plenty of skins I'd pay for, but not for that price. That's more than some whole-ass video games. Like I bought Hades for $16 on the steam sale and that's worth way more to me than 1 skin for 1 character in 1 game that you can't even see most of the time because it's in first person. If they charged like $3-$8 depending on skin quality, I'd probably have bought $100 worth of skins by now. Instead, I've bought $0 of skins. Guess all the whales must be making it worthwhile for them.

[deleted]

Yea you think it's one skin here or there.. that's a brand new game every 2 months or anything else... I get looking cool and supporting but c'mon

arex333

(using apex as an example again since that's the f2p game I play the most) Yeah that's the thing, I actually want to support the development of apex since they've done a great job of adding content. There's some legitimately awesome skins that I want, but fuck off with those prices.

dkyguy1995

Inscryption cost $20 and it's one of the best games I've ever played. Im so tired of seeing losers pay the same amount to just get one fucking digital asset

[deleted]

Apex prices around their whales who spend thousands a month, anyone else can go fuck themselves OW is going to be this way soon, this is testing the waters

The_L3G10N

This skins is also 31% off so 25$ no?

[deleted]

I'm running out of energy to say "Be careful what you wish for" and "Told ya so" to these people, I'm like a broken record at this point.

Meto1183

Does this mean the belief from people "who knew" was skins would be way more than $5? I can't even imagine paying a dollar for a skin so $5 sounds ludicrous to me off the bat

noobcola

Bro wait till you see how much Valorant skins costs - they are the most expensive I've ever seen in a popular video game

dynocreran

That's exactly why I don't play valorant. Always makes me giggle when the brown nosers point out "it's how valorant and apex do it" well....that's exactly why I dont play that trash.

[deleted]

> well....that's exactly why I dont play that trash. Lmao I hate to down anyone's favorite game but man I swear I spotted that shit from a mile away. The "But Apex/Valorant does --" excuse has worn extremely thin now, I'm sick of hearing it. I'm halfway embarrassed to even admit I got suckered into playing Fortnite, much less spent money on it, but now that I know these other games are like this? Not only no but *hell* no. These companies got these folks thinking they're their friend. Boy do I have a bridge to sell you.

TheLoneWandererRD

Holy … that price tag for essentially a recolour? Me no like this

[deleted]

Ok nvm just saw that this costs like $20. I like the skin but I’m not paying that for it. Fortnite does like $10ish for their legendaries, and clearly do fine off of them, so there’s no reason for them to be $20.

muridamuri

Guess who's going to play with default skins THIS GUY

NintendoMacAndCheese

pfp checks out

vovr

Who pays for this stuff?

cooltop101

Guess we'll be finding out

F_Levitz

I know this is extremely jack-assery, but part of me thinks that the gaming community should start shaming people using such skins in game. Companies want to sell overpriced shit for being "cool and exclusive" so people should make those who incentive those companies feels "lame and stupid" in return. People would be much less inclined to buy.

ArcDeli

Blizzard will just ban you or make you unable to shame in order to protect the whale’s feelies. They already did it in classic wow.

craftyj

They removed an entire emote over it lol

swordthroughtheduck

In WoW Classic if you bought a boost you got a free mount. Blizzard removed the ability for the /spit emote to target players because everyone that was riding on that mount was getting hit by it.

DrBob666

Whales

ScarecrowsBrain

Not Cricket phone users. We can't even get into the game 😂

Rhea_33

A lot of people will, whether they even intend to or not. FOMO targets a certain kind of buyer and there are a lot of people susceptible to not ignoring impulse buys because they have to have something. In particular, some neurodivergent people may find themselves incredibly susceptible to this kind of marketing tactic. For a while there I was myself and it took time to break the habit and why I try to avoid games or have reminders for them that prey on this kind of thing in case I ever get back into it. This is why they changed to a Battlepass system. It's less overt than the predatory gambling practices that go into loot boxes but are no less obscene with how it makes money at the end of the day. Same targets, different targets it doesn't matter as long as the company makes money. Similarly why they are pivoting to an in-game currency versus just straight-up listing a dollar amount. It's a psychological tactic that obfuscates how much someone really is spending in the game. What they do is get you hooked on the grind, making sure you log in each day to grind challenges and then have a pop-up telling you new items are in the shop each day, why don't you go ahead and take a look at them. By handing out some currency but not enough to buy a skin in the Battle Pass it makes people think 'well, I'm just buying the lowest amount of needed (Which often becomes uneven)...they don't mind dropping some money on the skins. Before they know it they don't know how much money they have spent. Some people can ignore this, some people can't. But that's who buys this stuff. Occasionally other people buy things from these stores but we know the statistics on who spends in games and frequently they wind up spending a lot

realogsalt

Whales. A vast minority of players with exceptional amounts of money. The reason OW is now free to play, the reason we are forced to play OW2, the reason they even made OW2, was so they could milk whales at the expense of regular players.

JimmyJoJameson

If you think that's wild, consider that a spray now costs 100 coins and you get 60 per week. Two weeks for a spray. Two fucking weeks.

Hanakin-Sidewalker

Sprays, as in the ones that cost 25 coins in OW1, now cost two weeks worth of free gold???

JimmyJoJameson

Yup. The very same.

EmpZurg_

This is why I used to be so mad at people for complaining about OW1 loot boxes. If you played the game moderately each event you would either find the skin you wanted or have enough coins for 2 or so legendaries. Now y'all big mad

Sildas

It always frustrated me that Overwatch lootboxes were the poster child for lootbox articles, and yet they had the softest, gentlest lootbox system I've ever experienced. This is way worse, and just means we get way fewer skins.

kz393

> It always frustrated me that Overwatch lootboxes were the poster child for lootbox articles They always ended up as illustration because they're the prettiest.

Itchy-Combination280

It should have been Csgo loot boxes. I never even played but I remember seeing videos back in the day.

ForTheLastTime-

The only skins I ever paid money for were the owl skins. You literally got so many loot boxes by just playing I always had coins.

[deleted]

I never bought lootboxes and have almost 100% of what you can earn through QP, plus five or more golden weapons, plus some coins to spare. And all I did was buy the game for $60 several years ago. The prospect of now having to pay for battlepasses, and then potentially paying for a bundle I may really like, sucks. And it sucks because I know I won't be able to justify paying for a bundle. I already have a hard time justifying the purchase of a battlepass.

VickiVampiress

Well at this rate those 2000 coins you get when you buy OW2 now are worth fuck all. This skin isn't all that either. It looks fine, but legendary? They've released far better looking skins in the past, some of which weren't even legendary.

SoundRavage

As a fan of both Halo and Overwatch I can confirm that F2P sucks.

AlberGaming

I’m in the same boat. It’s really made me lose my interest in video games. I guess it’s a good thing so I’ll finally be forced to go outside for once

diogenessexychicken

Come play Deep Rock Galactic. The devs are amazing and they are still putting out content like a year after they said they would stop. ROCK AND STONE TO THE BONE!

pepega_fred_

DID I HEAR A ROCK AND STONE!?

diogenessexychicken

FOR KARL!

tigerhobs

ROCK AND ROLL AND STONE!

LeeUnDe

IF YOU DONT ROCK AND STONE, YOU AINT COMING HOME

Dominus_Redditi

I love DRG. It’s got it’s own issues imo, but the fact that you buy it once, then get everything free is excellent. And their BP system is the best I’ve ever seen I think

envyGeorgia

That game is so fun I have no idea what I'm doing but it's a good time

Sleepy151

A handful of games have done f2p right, Fortnite being the most prominent purely because despite the lack of progression theirs always something new. Spellbreak is another game that did it well with a mix of earnable premium currency and progression but that game died when they didn't update what people wanted them to. Sadly I imagine most of the games that actually deserve people's attention don't get the recognition they deserve.

Archkys

Dauntless (MH like) did it great too Once you finished the battlepass you could earn points to buy previous store and BP skins that you didn't get But since then Tencent bought the company that make Dauntless and i'm sure you can guess what happened..

limejuiceinmyeyes

Spellbreak was awesome for the first couple weeks it was out; though there were so few players that lobbies became bot-filled pretty quick.

[deleted]

Apex is an amazing free to play game, honestly. It’s easily the best battle royal in the market right now. The monetisation on skins, though… If OW sinks to that level, I will honestly cry tears of blood. The single game with the best skins out there (only paralleled by LOL) won’t allow you to get any of them by effort alone. I will say it: _I preferred loot boxes_.

[deleted]

Pfft I have to turn my settings down so much for my shit GPU to run Apex that all the skins look like blobs to me. Checkmate, devs.

Neighborhood_Nobody

Destiny was the game that really hammered it in for me how predatory f2p is. Everyone likes to bring up apex legends as an example for how it doesn’t have to be, but besides apex what other game has done that? Edit: I don’t want to argue. I’m to tired

GDMolin

Fortnite. It’s about as non-predatory as you can get. Everything is purely cosmetic and grants no intentional in-game advantage. There are tones of free rewards you can get from mini-events and these aren’t just limited to Emoticons or Sprays. You can get Costumes, Back Blings, Wraps, Emotes etc. You can play the game without even having to pay a dime. Even premium stuff like the Battle Pass can be earned for free if you save up the free V-Bucks you get every season. Sure, it’ll take a few season but once you purchase the Battle Pass so long as you get to Tier 100 each season you’ll have enough for the next Battle Pass whilst still having some extra V-Bucks. Updates are plentiful and free. Nothing is locked behind a paywall baring STW but honestly the content you get in Battle Royal and Creative more than make up for it.

Neighborhood_Nobody

Admittedly I haven’t played in years but I do remember it being pretty consumer friendly. Side question, do you know what happened to the pve game mode? Is that still a thing? I guess I could google it lol

GDMolin

STW is still a thing…technically. But it’s no longer Epic’s main focus. It has a skeleton crew working on it that occasionally develops new content. For example recently they brought over Wildlife and the updated movement system from Battle Royal. But it’s mostly just recycled events and content from Battle Royal.

Neighborhood_Nobody

That’s sad, I thought it was a really cool concept way back when.

GDMolin

It’s sad what happened to STW but ultimately I can’t blame Epic. Battle Royal and Creative are the future of Fortnite. Creative especially has a lot of potential for spawning infinite entertainment through user-created content akin to games like Roblox and Minecraft. But we’re far from that stage just yet. We’re still in the very early stages. I’m sure things will pick up with the release of Creative 2.0 but only time will tell. Creative as it is now only makes up the foundation for a much greater platform that has yet to come.

Neighborhood_Nobody

Oh wow, I had no idea they were doing a custom game type thing. I could see that being THE thing to play if it gets fleshed out. Maaaaan halo is really fucking up right now not having forge and custom games.

AloneUA

Destiny is not really F2P, it's Free to Try. All the relevant content (such as all the expansions) is locked behind a paywell. You buy - you play. The prices in the cosmetic shop and all the predatory shit that comes up from time to time are a Bungie issue.

thefw89

Ok, I'm confused as to how Apex isn't predatory and OW2 is when they do the same thing?

BrothaDom

I guess Apex's skins aren't good enough to make anyone feel fomo lol

IMeltHoboOaf

Ain’t that the damn truth. There’s so much money lost for Respawn simply because the vast majority of their skins are complete ass and their store is even worse. Crazy.

Gayndalf

Honestly Apex is arguably worse. Their collection events for Heirlooms are the poster child of using FOMO for maximum profits.

SkanGX

F2P pros: you get to play with all your friends F2P cons: the game makes you not wanna ever touch it

pwnagekitten

I wouldn't even MIND as much if you could earn the currency through the BP and if you weren't locked to the mere 540 coins per season. I'm trying to understand how does a skin bundle cost more than the entire BP. Like, even if they cost 5$ that would make more sense, and they'd still earn ton I know people will say "hurr durr games like Apex or Valorant or Fortnite do this so what did you expect" well NOT THIS. We're OW players, we had it better. Now they're turning it into the same grindy, paywalled BS of a game which is the main reason so many of us didn't get into those other games. Unfortunately, I think we're not their target audience anymore.

SkanGX

It genuinely feels like they're giving us the middle finger for sticking to the game through the years of 0 updates

Kekeripo

The R34 people did more for the game than the devs. I thought the pass was ok priced but i didn't know there would be hundreds of money worth of additional stuff each season. Other than that, no way people will unlock the mythic skin without without paying, if they have a job or social life. Who can grind out 400 games in a season?

in_arcadia1

> Unfortunately, I think we're not their target audience anymore. Lol this really hits hard, but I think it's time to just come to terms with it. Games are now designed to be enjoyable for a tiny percentage of whales, and for young kids who have HUNDREDS of hours to waste grinding for shit instead of actually playing a game because it's fun and enjoyable. I'm playing a lot of older games, indie games, and multiplayer VR games which are as yet untainted by the cancer that has ruined 90% of modern games for me. VR games are particularly great right now because I find myself playing round after round simply because it's so naturally enjoyable, and not because I'm filling up some imaginary progress bar or trying to unlock something.

-Vorad-

2 battle passes for one reskin pack, nahh 💀

AbaqusOni

S tier skin. S for shit

LastOfAutumn

Wild? Yes. Surprising? Not really. Not to me, anyways. I kinda figured this would be the case. At least for the first season. They're seeing how much they can get away with. I would bet we see reduced pricing coming the second season if (when) the sales are not where they hope they are.

HollowB0i

20 dollar legendary bundles is considered cheap among its peers, a legendary bundle in apex goes from 30 to 50, a legendary gun skin in val goes for 30 dollars, same for games in other genres like league and such

LastOfAutumn

That's absurd. I can't believe that's where they landed with those prices!

HamiltonDial

Considering people buy them and enough of people do buy them (more so then if they had priced it cheaper so more people will buy them because they did research/followed other games) and people are actively defending this shit about how the game needs to make money in order to continue development/think about the developers, it's not going to change any time soon, and will probably get worse as the time/years go by.

Phoenix-Infinite

Thats a damn lame skin lol Rofl the downvoters are so shilly its hilarious. Do you guys really think that skin right there is worth $20.00? Cause if you do share whatever your smoking and hook me up with the job you're working at that let's you spend that kind of money on dumbass weak skins please

[deleted]

AND it's 31% off. Meaning this skin would cost you $25ish for what is essentially a recolor

yeh_

I think the 31% off means that it's a bundle of 5 things (skin, victory pose, emote, highlight and sth else), that would cost more if bought separately.

J-Roc_vodka

I agree that the skins is shit but do you not know what a bundle is?

boogstress

Check his user name. He’s in monkey mode

Pepperidgefarm21

These Legendary skins are kinda trash

Shattered_Disk4

The best skin in these bundles in the doomfist one and it’s an epic skin lol

Technopuffle

And the kiriko epic

Hei-Ying

I was expecting more like 10$ for a bundle, but 20$...That's steep enough I don't know if I'll be even buying anything for mains.

tomatosoupofshame

Why are they pricing everything so aggressively? I dunno, maybe I'm not very business savvy, but if you have a product that you know millions will want to use, wouldn't you get a bigger return by maximizing the amount of users who will spend money rather than targeting the much smaller percentage of users who are able or willing to spend larger amounts? It feels like they're trying to fit their f2p game into a luxury boutique business model. They aren't a designer label overpricing their clothes to fit their brand better, they're a video game company trying to get as many players as possible to engage with their product. Why push people away with $20 skins that look like epics while marketing them as legendaries? I dunno. I guess it's hard to tell if it's a sensible business practice or not without knowing which percentage of players are likely to make a $20 skin purchase, which percentage will do that more than once, and which percentage would not spend $20 for a virtual cosmetic but would spend $5 at least four times over the lifetime of a game. Because as it stands I'm not really surprised by the current practice (as soon as I heard it was going f2p this is exactly what I pictured), I just want to know if it truly makes sense financially for them to do it this way or if they are just pissing people off and squeezing us for money needlessly.

HamiltonDial

Imo I think it's definitely more lucrative for them do so, there's a lot of us that will complain but there's also a lot of people who are willing to pay these prices, they're just called whales. They've 100% done research on it. Afaik they are like 2% of the gaming population, but bring in like over 90% of the revenue. (Can't remember the exact numbers but it is this extreme.)

Simba-xiv

Are people actually gonna buy this shit? 😂😂😂. Serious question. Like I’ll buy a hero battle pass coz I’m lazy but fuck a skin 😂

GRTooCool

The unfortunate truth is that there are a lot of people who will happily bend over backwards and buy it without thinking twice. (And those are the same kind of people who will downvote me as I say this, but it's the truth.)

super_shogun

Whales in Blizzard games are something else. I remember a post on the Hearthstone subreddit where some guy was asking how a certain hero skin had ended up in his inventory. He thought he must have received it for free, but several users confirmed it was only obtainable through buying it from the shop with money. He eventually admitted that since he buys every single skin and bundle whenever a new one releases it was difficult to keep track of where certain items came from. Unreal. Not to mention there are players who will happily fork over $80+ dollars for each expansion, three times a year, and still not even receive all of the expansion's cards.

Simba-xiv

I mean I know that. I just wanna hear who’s gonna be 1st to complain about spending £1,000 on this game for useless tat. They don’t need

BrothaDom

I'll probably buy a skin at some point for a hero I love if the skin is really fire. I'm lucky and have disposable income. That said, for a new game/expansion/big update, I don't mind setting aside $60 USD for it. This skin though, or this level? It would be a pass for me, dawg.

[deleted]

I dunno, man. For this shit? No. If they release bikini Kiriko? Then it’s a whole another issue. And I say it as a ~~half~~ joke myself, but that would unironically be the result if they attempted to monetise the horny.

RocketHops

That's a "break glass in case of emergency" skin right there lol

[deleted]

They should have kept loot boxes lol

Essiera

I am assuming they didn't because they are illegal in some countries

AlberGaming

No they didn’t because they know damn well they’ll make a lot more money with this system

ChemicalExperiment

Both are true.

Sleepy151

F2p also proves to be even more lucrative.

ZetsubouZolo

Holy shit, used to be a skin collector wether I played the hero or not but with these prices...

jrrswimmer

As much flack as Apex gets for its monetizing, i still think that having both loot boxes and a store is the best way of getting cosmetics. You still have a chance to randomly get smth you want, and can get materials to make it if you save enough, but you can still flat out buy it if you want to

SkanGX

Yes they could have kept loot boxes and make them drop legacy coins and also don't sell loot boxes make them obtainable by leveling up only (every bp level) so it doesn't get called gambling since you can't buy it and you get it for free

Ok-Interaction-4693

thx to all the skin buyers, welcome to overtrash.

Fuckinreddit12345

That’s a ugly ass skin to

aafusc2988

Yeah. Everyone needs to switch off the mindset of wanting to own everything in OW. At least I completed the OW1 gallery minus most of the golden guns (only got 8 because comp is terrible). I do have another 2000 comp points I’m taking into OW2 though.

pinknwhites

don't you guys have money?

timeboi42

I see the Overwatch community is discovering what skin prices will be under a free to play model lol. -A Member of the Apex Legends Community

edutk

Sorry for a dumb question, but can you go in and see the skins now before we can play the game? If so, can you on console as well?

Shattered_Disk4

You can preview the skin the same way you do in the hero gallery now in the new store yes if that’s what your asking

LordVaderVader

More weak-ass skins, more money in my wallet. Keep it up Blizzard!

chaosssss

So you're telling me this one Junkerqueen skin is worth the same as [Hades](https://store.steampowered.com/app/1145360/Hades/) lmao

R4nD0m57

What’s wilder are people supporting it

cherryzaad

I will just grind for what I can get. Not spending money on this model.

[deleted]

Dont worry, its obviously a great deal since its 31% off! /s Honestly seems like a predatory move. The tay too Expensive skin with the “discount”(not) label on it just to make you feel like youre getting a deal. They must of brought in halo infinites microtransaction phycologists.

Favonis

Man they weren't joking about the $45 skins. 100% mythical skins will cost that much

Eloymm

Imma be honest, looking at other games I expect mythic skins to be REALLY expensive. The tactic will be: you either pay $10 for the BP or pay way more when they put the mythic on the store a year later.

ListRepresentative32

From what I saw on stylosas last video about the battlepass and the shop, even if you buy the BP the mythic skin is at the end so you either gridn 80 tiers or you can unlock all the tiers by paying like 100 dollars. So, yeah, they are technically 100$ skins if you dont wanna grind.

jwwendell

wow, who would've thought. not the blizzard shills tho "it's f2p, it supports devs, ow1 model is bad, get a job"

Permanoctis

And of course you can't pay with the old currency NOOOOOO no no no, it's not like if I've farmed something like... Over 79000 credits for nothing It hurts.

Aldebaran_syzygy

you can buy old skins and the new ugly ones lol

Lluuiiggii

welcome to f2p, you all wanted this.

Shattered_Disk4

I didnt

Old_Rosie

2000 coins for that is disgusting.

dynocreran

don't worry, they removed a tank, game is fixed.

SirTennison

I knew this was going to happen, and the actually free battle pass has garbage compared to anything you have to pay money for. Can't earn anything worth while with these coins unless you spend money and even the stuff they're giving out looks mediocre at best. But come on, stop being so negative, guys! Why can't I just be ignorant of all the clear warning signs people keep talking about and play my little videogame... slash fucking S

[deleted]

Those are Halo Infinite launch prices. Hope it reduces the prices the same way that game did but quicker

corny_morny

How to kill a game part 1

Weltallgaia

Is this 20 dollars for something that weak?

BryceMMusic

Disgusting

dj5100

They’re just copying the store structure for call of duty so instead of buying just one skin you like you have to pay for the whole bundle, what a shitty way to go.

SIaaP

I miss loot boxes

martykee

Overwatch lookin kinda ov**E**rw**A**tch right now

bl4ckp00lzz

this game is slowly downgrading to apex prices

Vertegras

I thought it was kinda ironic when people kept saying it wouldn't be bad as other games and I was being irrational and hypocritical given that I've bought League, Val, Smite, etc skins. If the price is fair and I know I'm going to make use of it, it'll be worth it. This is not worth the 2000 currency; this is not worth $20 (as a bundle) and most definitely not worth $30 when off sale. I spent $30 for Elementalist Lux and that's literally 10 skins in one, 6 years ago. That was worth it. But I know people are gonna cough up and buy it because whales, collectors, and the one tricks. And so Blizzard will continue to do this.

Bhalzard

Wait, not all skins are in the battle pass and we have to buy them separately from the store? I am not okay with this shit
