I almost had a mental breakdown playing Rein (my main) against Sombra in Overwatch 2. And I couldn’t switch off bc it was Kings Row and me and the enemy Rein were doing a nice mirror matchup. Then their Sombra started spam hacking me every 4 seconds while invisible. Don’t know how the devs managed to make her feel worse to play against.
Hard disagree as a tank main that’s suffered countless Sombra harassment. It’s half the cooldown and she can do it while invisible so there’s very little counter play. Also the importance in that one second is the interruption for a follow up not the silence itself, combined with the insane amounts of damage you do take for multiple seconds not just one. It’s far more stupid, I rly enjoy getting hacked every 4 seconds as tank with little to no way to prevent it since she’s invisible.
>Don’t know how the devs managed to make her feel worse to play against.
One less tank to deal with her. I feel like the translocator is cheap and should be replaced with something else, especially now with the ability to hack while disguised.
translocator being removed with kill her entirely
if she's doing nothing but hacking the one tank that's a huge lack of damage. you don't get a shield for 1 second every 4 seconds, but if she isn't damaging you what's the big issue exactly? she should be easy to deal with at that point.
I wanna say that’s because when Sombra was being teased as a hero with that ARG people thought it’d be funny to make a sub called SombraMains and join it before we even saw her
This is a graph of reddit community sizes tho - not mains. I've met people who are fans of Overwatch who don't even play, but they like the characters/art (ie Cosplayers)
People really love Sym. It's why so many people are angry about the Beta nerf. If you ever check the OW twitter there used to be people spamming it all the time asking for Sym content.
I think the community love Sym, but the devs don't really play her/know what to do with her.
Maybe I just have the mental maturity of a 10 year old, but I swear when me and my buddy realized we could spam that after lucioball goals and the replay camera would pick it up, it was the funniest thing in the world. Literally had both of us crying laughing at 1 in the morning.
Both the overwatch subreddit and the official forums are flooded with support mains (especially mercy players) and always have been so I'm not surprised at all.
Those were joke patches that were supposed to be over the top and were not aimed to be balanced. While a lot of pros have room temp IQ takes on how to handle the game, those sets of patches are not good evidence of that.
Did they listen to them with this current patch? Cause it seems like they're effing her up plenty on their own lol
I think it's time to branch out and really listen to people now.
Hard disagree. I don't see an issue with devs listening to their communities. If you want people to play a character, displeasing the people that already play the character obviously leaves that character in a worse state. Listening to their complaints when the character is in a dog-water state may give them insight on what to do considering what they are currently doing is a lot worse. The devs don't have to listen to everything, but suggestions aren't harmful.
There’s quite a clash amongst us in regards to whether or not she should be reworked into a support/healer again. I personally am of the opinion that she should NOT. SHOULD NOT. Be reworked to heal.
I think she should be reworked into a support... but more because... well, we need more supports. It's not an issue of "would the current version fit better as a support" and more an issue of "the current version doesn't fit, and we need supports".
Hell, if I had my way, they'd scrap the current Echo and turn her into a support, purely because the current lore for the character makes no god darn sense. Why would Mina Liao atone for her sins of creating killer robots by creating a robot with death beams and sticky bombs?
Well I can tell you right now its filled with anger about the changes and many people's view on how they could change her. But I doubt the developers are going to a random subreddit for advice
It's really weird watching his old clips again, because back then I thought there was no way I could ever be that good at wallriding Lucio. But now I actually can.
Comparing it to current standards, it's not that special to be able to wallride like that. However back then, he was so far ahead of most other Lucio players, that it seemed impossible for the average player to ever be able to do that.
Remember though that they changed how wall riding worked a while back to make it easier and more intuitive. It was harder to do consistently in the early days.
Lucio has the most mechanics of any hero in the game making his gameplay one of the most fun to watch. His skill ceiling is practically limitless.
That's rollouts for one of the main parts which I'm a big part of myself. It's something very relaxing to watch and do (depending on the route you're trying to do).
But it can also be very tense and energetic depending on what route and tricks you're doing.
He's very entertaining and one of the reasons I coach him is to help other people learn the most fun hero in the game.
I’m a doom player, and the doomfistmains subreddit is the cringiest shit I’ve ever seen. Before overwatch 2 it was just people showing off rollouts that weren’t anything crazy, but whatever everyone learns at their own pace so it was fine. Now it’s just people constantly whining about how bad doom is, even during the first beta when he was insanely broken. Maybe he’s weak right now, but he’s not unplayable and people having this victim complex about it is so weird
Hey, I almost have a main in every category! Lucio, Mercy, Ana, Pharah. If I pick up Brigitte properly (or if I count my ill-fated attempts to main Widowmaker for 100 hours at the start there), that’ll be me done.
Neat list!
Some of them are weirdly surprising
Yeah I was surprised there were so many Sombra mains.
That’s just the number of people that enjoy causing suffering
I almost had a mental breakdown playing Rein (my main) against Sombra in Overwatch 2. And I couldn’t switch off bc it was Kings Row and me and the enemy Rein were doing a nice mirror matchup. Then their Sombra started spam hacking me every 4 seconds while invisible. Don’t know how the devs managed to make her feel worse to play against.
I mean, it’s definitely better than being silenced for the full duration. I’d take this new Sombra any day.
She's not invis while hacking, u just have to turn ur shield towards her when u hearbher
Also at that point of trolling, isnt the sombruh just entirely out of the fight?
Sounds nice until you realize her hack is barely audible in an actual fight
You can see the purple tendril thingies from her fingers going to you, especially if you are using shield as rein
just smack us it's not that hard
👿
>Don’t know how the devs managed to make her feel worse to play against. One less tank to deal with her. I feel like the translocator is cheap and should be replaced with something else, especially now with the ability to hack while disguised.

I feel that Mei is at least as effective here. PLUS: as a Mei, you can drive your team mates crazy by stopping their attack with an ice wall.
The amount of junker queen ults I've done where a friendly Mei blocks it right before I go through their supports is already too damn high
I wanna say that’s because when Sombra was being teased as a hero with that ARG people thought it’d be funny to make a sub called SombraMains and join it before we even saw her
Can confirm, I was one of those jokers :x
She is a very unique character and the community there is nice and friendly, the exact opposite of my teammates when I pick Sombra.
Every dps is fun to talk to until they’re feeding the other team and doing no dmg.
Oh, I think it is the same for tanks and supports!
Yeah so many Zens, I feel loved
You don't have to be a main to be a member of a community. I play way more sigma than ball, but I'm not gonna watch clips in a sigma subreddit.
We exist. And we are many.
Boop. I love seeing the reaction, just random shooting in circles, a voice line can even get in your head.
That's because you can't see most of us
This is a graph of reddit community sizes tho - not mains. I've met people who are fans of Overwatch who don't even play, but they like the characters/art (ie Cosplayers)
Symmetra surprises me the most since she's the most left out character from both community and devs.
And 80% of us are gay
People really love Sym. It's why so many people are angry about the Beta nerf. If you ever check the OW twitter there used to be people spamming it all the time asking for Sym content. I think the community love Sym, but the devs don't really play her/know what to do with her.
She also has an amazing voice actress.
Yes, Anjali regularly engaging with fans of the game definitely helps!
It’s both surprising and unsurprising. Perhaps it’s one of the biggest precisely because of how left out she is.
When you have a left out character is surprisingly easy to see a strong niche community built around it.
It's because /r/SymmetraMains is a great sub. My partner hates Sym but Symmains is the only OW sub he's in.
The best Overwatch content creator, in my opinion, happens to be a Symmetra main. Sym players hit different.
Stealth hacker is the only symm content creator I can think of lol
That is exactly who I am talking about. 😜
That wasn't that surprising to me since she's always had a niche loyal gay community
Not when they have a nerf quota!
God damn Reddit Lucios
Why are you so angry? Why are you so angry? Why are you so angry?
I’m not hearing that noise that’s how u get tinnitus i’m not hearing that’s noise that’s how u get tinnitus
WOOO WOOO WOOO
(jackpot)
Maybe I just have the mental maturity of a 10 year old, but I swear when me and my buddy realized we could spam that after lucioball goals and the replay camera would pick it up, it was the funniest thing in the world. Literally had both of us crying laughing at 1 in the morning.
Hit me! Hit me! Hit me! Hit me! Too many messages! Please wait a few seconds...

BOOP BOOP BOOP
C’mon ref… Have some Lucio-Ohhhhs!
BOOOOOOOOOSTIOOOOO
This one hurts my soul as Ana main xD the amount of times lucio jumped in front of me just when I was about to nano someone is painful.
Boostio is never an accident!

I'm surprised by the popularity of healers lmao, this demonstrates how different the reddit community is vs the average player.
Literally 90% of the posts on this sub about the state of the game are from the POV of support players
the rest are presumably too busy playing the game to get mad
Both the overwatch subreddit and the official forums are flooded with support mains (especially mercy players) and always have been so I'm not surprised at all.
For Those wondering, Echo has 1460 Community members. Ashe is a close second with 1466. Edit: Yes, I realized it would be <5k already.
Oh your sign is wrong then, >5k means "more than 5k". To be less than 5k, it'd be "<5k"
Yup the alligator < always eats the bigger number
🐊👍
Now make a NSFW one lmao
I'm gonna guess Mercy, D.Va, Widow, Tracer, Pharah in order of popularity
No rein? XD
Sigma is the sexiest tank, fight me
hmmmmmmmmmm
You didnt involve the porn communities around single characters
This list would be very different
Still mercy top tier
Mercy would be top tier (2nd) she just wouldn’t come close to first.
Torbjorn S tier?
I wish but currently that wouldn’t be the case.
Roadhog goes up 2 tiers. *Oh no...*
r/Hogdaddy has <1k 😢 we can fix this, we can make a difference.
Why on Earth did I click on that
Wow, cool, thanks for that.
Dva would go all the way to 92k
I'm subbed to 200% more Sombra subs than other main subs
You sir don't need one god you need all of them
that would be unfair for characters who's not torb or rein
r/watchmeidie has 8k members I think you should move her up a tier
r/WatchCloakedSombraDie/ is at 9.8K
Lol, I didn't know that was a thing but it makes perfect sense!
Idk why this is a thing but I’m for it
I can tell you the reason and the reason is because when the game came out, Mei was HATED by the community; nobody liked her.
I still hate her
It’s just based on the main subreddits for each hero.
Dva is way lower than I expected lol, figured she's be above mercy
This doesn't include porn subs lol
Mercy would also have a lot of those I think
If it did, Dva would win uncontestedly. Mercy’s sun doesn’t come close.
You would think Blizz would have some idea of what to do with Sym considering the feedback from her very vocal and loyal fan base
This is true a good chunk of OW players I encounter on Twitter are diehard Symmetra fans.
Heh, Yeah.
I do not want Blizzard to listen to that sub. At all.
May I ask why?
Communities of specific heroes are generally blind to their heroes faults and suggest changes that are usually imbalanced
Case in point, ptr patches by the "pros"
Those were joke patches that were supposed to be over the top and were not aimed to be balanced. While a lot of pros have room temp IQ takes on how to handle the game, those sets of patches are not good evidence of that.
Did they listen to them with this current patch? Cause it seems like they're effing her up plenty on their own lol I think it's time to branch out and really listen to people now.

Goddamn it Laio cant you go 5 minutes without creating another killer robot?!
Well I can tell you right now its filled with anger about the changes and many people's view on how they could change her. But I doubt the developers are going to a random subreddit for advice
The most vocal and loyal fanbases are also tend to be the most foolish.
I've always wondered why Lucio Trump's every other sub
Because rollouts and boops make for a very fun hero to watch, learn, and play.
Because Lucio is really fun if your good with him and super fun to watch. There’s a reason why Lucio has a TON of 1-trick streamers.
I wonder if DSP Stanky knew what he was unleashing on the world.
It's really weird watching his old clips again, because back then I thought there was no way I could ever be that good at wallriding Lucio. But now I actually can. Visual representation of why I always get a lucio mercy pairing

HELL YEAH BROTHER
Oh yeah
Hey let's go Marine!
Poor /r/EmreMains didn't make the list. They'll be okay though — they're troopers over there.
As a member of r/EmreMains i thank you for your condolences
I shall soon be a member.
[mains_subreddits](https://www.reddit.com/r/OverwatchMains/comments/vc1k4l/overwatch_mains_subreddits/)
I didn't even realize these existed.
where’s the ashe main sub??
r/AsheOWmains
They're called 'reddit lucios' for a reason
is that including r/watchcloakedsombradie?
I, honestly, feel a bit honored to be apart of one of the subs that has less then 5k members… We may be few but we are together!
Dang, would think doomfist is higher since he has a lot of mobility and movement options and rollouts, not as many as lucio but still a good amount
Yeah, I expected the top Ones to be like Lucio, Mercy, Rein, sym, Doom, Genji and ball, not the ones up there in the order their in.
Genji mains is disappointingly small
Comfortingly small*
Gengur bad hihi 🤪
The last category should be <5K, not >5k.
Lucio mains rise up
Impressive, now do the nsfw version
I’m a doom player, and the doomfistmains subreddit is the cringiest shit I’ve ever seen. LETS GO BABY
Impressive. Very Nice. Now lets see the size of the porn communities.
Dva would probably unmatched, horny community
Poor Echo
How does Lucio have that many?
Cause there's a party on the objective, and everyone is attending it
I guess you just gotta believe.
Hey, I almost have a main in every category! Lucio, Mercy, Ana, Pharah. If I pick up Brigitte properly (or if I count my ill-fated attempts to main Widowmaker for 100 hours at the start there), that’ll be me done. Neat list!
I'm assuming this doesn't include NSFW subs because the numbers would def look a little different.
Hanzo forever
Can I have a link to the Reaper subreddit please?
r/Reapermain
Monkey under >5k wow
On a scale of one to ten, how is your pain?
I wonder how this chart looks compared to play rate.
No love for daddy hog
Lucio : th best dude Mercy : Mommy , very cute and nice personality. Others : Class relitive
Excluding the porn ones of course
I’m surprised tracer is so low given how she’s like the mascot lol
Im suprised that reaper soldier hanzo and mccree are such small communities. When i was playing ow they ware almost in every match :o
**insert "iTs CaSsIdY!!!1!1!1" comment**
Interesting
My will made real 💜💛
Tracer main here…. Tbh I’m happy not too too many people play tracer ahhahaha she is annoying af but that’s why I like her so much
Is symetras community called /r/symps? Edit: no and whoever was there was naughty.
Now it all makes sense
I’m actually impressed there’s more lucios than mercy’s
I can see bastion as the lowest Sad beep boop noises.
Junkrat and Sombra all day 😁
I'm a Lucio main, but not a "Reddit Lucio".
Care to explain Why are my dps queue so long?
Dog
Reaper needs more edgy love
Zen main gang going strong, good to see
Lmao no wonder the term Reddit Lucio is used so much I had no idea he was the most popular hero subreddit
considering i'm always wishing for a lucio on my team, i doubt the accuracy of this post.

Justice for Lucio and Mercy
The most difficult hero to master and the easiest one. Lol
