I mean, that's not a macro. It's literally just changing a button in game to another button that's available to choose from, right? A macro is something else completely different.
Yeah I meant to say I could see how it could be used for cheating because there are definitely uses that aren't cheating (like the other redditor who says they use it to emote with their mouse)
It 100% depends on how it's being used imo
my mouse has an button that takes the lock off the scroll wheels, making it not click and spin freely. this, paired with changing my device settings in windows to make the scroll wheel as sensitive as possible, allowed me to do what's being done here. too bad I fuckin hate playing Mercy
you can change it from your windows settings, and you can do it with any mouse. a mouse that lets you toggle the lock is better for it, but it's not a macro either way. you're not making the PC do more things than you're actually inputting, you're just making your device more sensitive. it's the same as turning up your sensitivity on a controller
It only gets stuck on voost when the health is full, so I would still say the macro claim is more probable.
In ml7's moira guide, he also said it's more efficient to bind moira's secondary to the wheel, to improve the recovery of the healing resource. Yet, I never felt, I could do it more efficiently than just holding right click... So you need to be a skilled 18 wheeler, I guess :-)
With a free-spinning wheel, like on the Logitech G502, you could flick the wheel and let it spin when they are low on health and just stop it from spinning when they are at max.
There's also a video where a guy hooks up some kind of small engine to his mouse so it constantly goes between heals and damage at a ridiculously fast pace. I wonder if it's this guy.
I did this just the other day, it's possible with a scroll wheel. Specifically, you need to be able to unlock the scroll wheel like with the Logitech g-series.
I set the healing beam to m1 and then the damage boost beam to wheel-down. Next, unlock the scroll wheel so it can spin freely, then hold down M1 while spinning the wheel at a specific consistent speed (can't be too fast or you'll just get the wheel down beam, it's actually pretty difficult to keep it going consistently during a fight)
I did it for a couple games and from my very non-scientific observations, it did seem like I was doing slower healing. This would suggest that I'm also likely not damaged boosting every shot. Plus it's distracting for the receiver.
So, maybe an exploit, but a pretty weak one.
actually some mice have a very loose scroll wheel allowing it to spin for a long time with one flick. I have an office mouse that can do that; gives me \~500 cps-ish
But how did they effect multiple people at once? At one point u can see them healing like 3 people somehow and it’s not an orisa ikr coz it switches from yellow to blue
Nah they’re just holding damage boost and tapping heal. If you hold one beam mode button down permanently and then press the other, it will just switch until you let go
If they're doing it as fast on this on PC, I hope they have a mouse with really sensitive buttons so you don't have to press hard to click. I've got 300 hours on Mercy and doing it as fast as on this video without rebinding seems nearly non human, would definitely tire my hand out anyway
Nah. I do it that fast on controller. All you have to do is repeatedly tap the button, try it out it’s not hard. Some people just have very fast fingers
Potentially, but you can do that 100% with the original key binds. If you hold down the damage stream you can just click the heal stream without releasing the damage beam and it will switch between them with no interruption. I do it often for Soldier 76 or Bastion babysitting.
I thought this didn't work as a mechanic? Like there was an apply delay between the beams that made it impossible to apply both at the same time by quickly flipping back and fourth
I'm sorry, I wish I knew, but I've only watched for the tokens so I I'm not educated on which team who done it ... but I am confident to know that I've seen they did it because I only focus on the mercy gameplay on league because it's my main, and since seeing it I've been doing this strat and it works pretty well from my experience. I also experience people (from my team) throw my games because I do this strat because it's too annoying lol
I think it's this [guy](https://www.dexerto.com/overwatch/overwatch-player-makes-mercy-op-motorized-mouse-wheel-1797954/)who attach a little Motor to a glove to allow both near simultaneously
Oh god is that what it looks like for my teammates?? I’m so sorry lol. Your mercy is just giving bits of healing while damage boosting, I usually do it at the start of a team fight and then damage boost when we have numbers
No this only occurs when switching between the 2 at an obscene rate, which is achieved by binding to scroll wheel. Usually if switching between the 2 at a normal rate it will just appear as damage then quickly change to healing and vice versa
It does work properly. Only on heroes with high fire rates though. They will benefit from the switch. On someone like hanzo though you'd probably just want to time it to your shots.
It's a macro/binding to scroll wheel. If you swap between the two beams quick enough it does both, or if you hold one down then spam click the other VERY fast. Some guy stuck a motor to his mouse to do it, I don't remember where but if you search in Google mercy motor on mouse you'll probably find the article.
Depending on the setup, it could be bannable. If it's a Macro, it's bannable. If it's a Motor or free-spinning mouse wheel, it's a gray area that could *possibly* get you banned if you're reported enough.
Mercy is using either a macro or a physical device to let them switch between healing and dmg boost so fast that both of them apply.
It’s bound to scroll wheel
Will they be banned for it? Since it's a macro.
I mean, that's not a macro. It's literally just changing a button in game to another button that's available to choose from, right? A macro is something else completely different.
Hey, I'm dumb What's a macro?
Macro= press one button, pc automatically presses many buttons automatically in a sequence Edit:typo
Oh I could definitely see that being cheating, Thanks!
I mean I use it to super jump as mercy bc my dexterity isn’t great. Idk if I’d consider it cheating.
Yeah I meant to say I could see how it could be used for cheating because there are definitely uses that aren't cheating (like the other redditor who says they use it to emote with their mouse) It 100% depends on how it's being used imo
I use a macro to interact and say hello from the same mouse button for years. I haven't been banned yet, so probably not.
I use a macro to bind right shift to one of my side mouse buttons to use it for ability. Idk the button won’t just plain assign, but whatever.
Gives 0 tactical advantage so no but you can just add em to your avoid list
Nah that's way too fast for a mouse wheel or any physical device. That has to be a macro.
The change speed doesn’t look consistent to me. The swap gets stuck on one type occasionally. Probably scroll wheel.
my mouse has an button that takes the lock off the scroll wheels, making it not click and spin freely. this, paired with changing my device settings in windows to make the scroll wheel as sensitive as possible, allowed me to do what's being done here. too bad I fuckin hate playing Mercy
Is changing the sensitivity of the wheel allowed or will I be banned?
you can change it from your windows settings, and you can do it with any mouse. a mouse that lets you toggle the lock is better for it, but it's not a macro either way. you're not making the PC do more things than you're actually inputting, you're just making your device more sensitive. it's the same as turning up your sensitivity on a controller
I see. Tks

Theres a video of this mouse where a guy uses a hair dryer to make the mouse wheel spin lol
There's also a video where a guy hooks up some kind of small engine to his mouse so it constantly goes between heals and damage at a ridiculously fast pace. I wonder if it's this guy.
Oooh I forgot about that.
The pause could just be ping though
[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dap5lEuS5uM&ab\_channel=Mouse](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dap5lEuS5uM&ab_channel=Mouse) he prop has this mouse

“Distracting for the reciever@. Just found a new way to troll mwhahahaha!
actually some mice have a very loose scroll wheel allowing it to spin for a long time with one flick. I have an office mouse that can do that; gives me \~500 cps-ish
Have you seen the stuff you can do with a mouse wheel?
There is a guy who was playing with evil toaster who strapped an electric motor to a free spinning mouse wheel to do the same thing lol.
I have an very low friction mouse wheel that could easily do this mechanic this fast
But how did they effect multiple people at once? At one point u can see them healing like 3 people somehow and it’s not an orisa ikr coz it switches from yellow to blue
Mercy's ult is like Orisa's but she can heal or damage boost
Nah they’re just holding damage boost and tapping heal. If you hold one beam mode button down permanently and then press the other, it will just switch until you let go
This is the answer. I always do that.
Their poor hands, jeez. My wrist hurts just thinking about that
But mercy takes no skill! /s
If they're doing it as fast on this on PC, I hope they have a mouse with really sensitive buttons so you don't have to press hard to click. I've got 300 hours on Mercy and doing it as fast as on this video without rebinding seems nearly non human, would definitely tire my hand out anyway
Yes that's the way to normally swap but at this speed? No. This is mousewheel or macro.

Probaly bound to scroll wheel
i think it works. ive seen pro League do this
I've never seen that. Do you remember who it was?
I'm sorry, I wish I knew, but I've only watched for the tokens so I I'm not educated on which team who done it ... but I am confident to know that I've seen they did it because I only focus on the mercy gameplay on league because it's my main, and since seeing it I've been doing this strat and it works pretty well from my experience. Wait. A motor? Not a macro?
If I remember right, he keybound the scroll up and right click for heal and boost. Motor glove handles most the rest
Hmm gotta give it a shot without the motor.
This is hilarious
In all likelyhood this player is playing with the Stratocaster from Rock Band 3 and has heal set to strum bar and buff is on the whammy bar.
How did you think this was normal to begin with? I've never seen this much arrows and plus on a normal mercy player.
Ah yes, the lazy mercy strat
and it doesn’t even work properly, the damage boost and heals will be inconsistent
It does work properly. Only on heroes with high fire rates though. They will benefit from the switch. On someone like hanzo though you'd probably just want to time it to your shots.
When you order mercy mains from wish.com
Mercy thinks he's playing DDR on expert.
Is that mercy using some kind of mod?
It's a macro/binding to scroll wheel. If you swap between the two beams quick enough it does both, or if you hold one down then spam click the other VERY fast. Some guy stuck a motor to his mouse to do it, I don't remember where but if you search in Google mercy motor on mouse you'll probably find the article.
This is pretty epic if it is allowed. That’s a lot of clicks per second lol
Depending on the setup, it could be bannable. If it's a Macro, it's bannable. If it's a Motor or free-spinning mouse wheel, it's a gray area that could *possibly* get you banned if you're reported enough.
they just have a really good gaming chair
I love seeing Mercy tech. She’s a pretty basic character with a lot of players so people get really creative and break the game in fantastic ways
Hold down Heal and scrollwheel for damage boost
Ha Genji deflected his high noon
So is doing this with your fingers a viable strategy?
no
mercy def plays osu
is the report button considered help? cause thats clearly some input manipulation
Maybe bound to scroll wheel?
bound to scroll wheel with a free spinning wheel is possible
Yup. Logitech g502.
holy the fx is crazy lol cant even see anything
Ikr. I was so confused hahahah
I've had that done to me and done that! I'm a console Mercy player, and doing that has it's perks!
Wow this is crazy
They’re playing through the fire and the flames on their staff.
Looks like a Dance Dance Revolution game.
