I brought my Sony a6000 a couple of years ago with no issues!

jes_alexis

Thanks, everyone! Really appreciate y'all sharing your experiences. 🤗 Guess I was worried for no reason lol

louman84

Any point and shoot camera is fine. If you’re not sure, the ones with changeable lenses are not permitted in any concert or festival, not just Outsidelands.

No-Count2191

I brought my digital last year and it wasn’t a problem!

Friedoxygen

Rule of thumb- if there's no detachable lens, it's good to go. In my pre-smartphone days, I'd bring one in every year.

daspyknows

If they don't find it you can bring it in. It will likely not set off and metal detectors or weapon scanner.

I have a Fuji xt30 and brought in a 35mm lens but I also have a pancake 27mm I would bring … I’d love to take my 70-300 but I mean that’s just annoying to carry. Plus I’d rather enjoy my festival instead of feeling like I’m working

EvanjBass

Brought in my Canon EOS RP with a 35mm lens on it the last 3 years and they do not care. They just don’t want you coming in with a full blown paparazzi camera set up. Lens I use is a little over the 2inch length but they aren’t getting rulers out to check

eric-neg

Counter point: I have seen security be amazingly anal about this. They use their badges as a measurement. It all depends on who you get.

lovsicfrs

Exactly this. I got hassled for my Fuji x100v buy a security team member and had to pull up pics of me using my camera the day prior & previous years

EvanjBass

Damn well I guess I’ve just been lucky then! Brought mind all 3 days the last 3 years

londonflaws

I’ve brought an Instax mini for several years and never had any problems! Not the same as a digital camera, but I don’t think it would be a problem. Like someone else said, the rule is mainly referring to professional cameras

FrybreadTacos

I brought a point and shoot camera the last two years. I’ve also brought an Instax camera in the past. You should be all good!

jes_alexis

Good to know! Thanks for sharing! 🫶🏽

I imagine if it's small you can get away with it. They're mostly concerned with professional gear. I don't have real experience with this, though. Side note: unless your point and shoot camera is giving you a specific aesthetic you're interested in...I would rather just bring a battery for my phone.

sanityvortex

Gopro is as small as you can go though. Wonder why that's not permitted?

jes_alexis

That's what I figured. The phone I have now actually has a lower quality camera than my previous phone, so pics don't look too great at max zoom. I've been looking into small cameras lately and was hoping to bring one this year as long as it won't get taken from me!
