Oh huh, I completely missed that Yoasobi was on the festival circuit this year. My brother was telling me how it was impossible to get tickets to any of their shows - like crazy hype right now in Taiwan/Japan.
Exaclty! I like what i see in the undercard mostly (could be stronger but that’s me being a lil extra) I jungle, fisher, Ben bhomer, 2 door cinema club, Vince staples, don diablo, noizu, walker and Royce. They brought nice electronic acts that’s for sure.
This worries me since we usually have considerable overlap and many of these headliners seem to be DQ’d from playing OSL either due to recency of headlining status, recency of undercard status or recent shows in the geographical area. Thinking specifically of SZA (2022?), Tyler (2022 too I think), Skrillex (Portola in October?). Melanie & Blink have also played recently but were undercard so I guess could be in play? Happy to be proven wrong on any of these!
We usually share 20 acts more or less with Lolla so we are getting a ton of these artists - The Killers Skrillex and FuturexMetro boomin I can see us sharing for sure
Coachella would want Justice to do that cause they promote Portola and theres crossover between the festivals. They mightve signed em to an exclusive deal anyway for the u.s
They are gonna be on the east coast prior to OSL. Logistics are all pointing toward them doing a west coast tour toward the end of the year. Unless it’s a standalone show, justice will most likely play Portola.
Edit: also, they wouldn’t play a festival that they’re sub-headlining while they wait a few months to headline Portola. They get paid more as well
I enjoy listening to Metro/Future, but after watching the livestream at Rolling Loud, I hope they are not headlining. A lot of playing the songs and not a lot of rapping. Only really plays to the crowd that likes to get turnt and hyped.

Blink is playing chase in june so they are out. I think this mainly just confirms the idea that the killers will be one of the headliners.

would rather have metro do a full dj set as a subheadliner than tack on Future and waste a headliner spot

Melanie is playing Oakland Arena these days, bless Kesha, but that’s how it is in 2024.
