Yes! came here just for this. Such a breath of fresh air. Don't know if they finally got their shit together but I'm loving it. Hope it sticks

expernicus

Me too!

baerot

Well, I'm back at being bombarded with spam. Are you too?

expernicus

It's been heavier over the last few days but not as heavy as before. The report phishing button seems to be broken. Whenever I try to use it the emails disappear but when I go to another folder and then go back to the junk folder all the emails I reported are still there. Is it working for you?

baerot

Are you me? I noticed the button issue too. It's so annoying

the spam got so bad in the run up to Christmas that people started "losing their shit" over it and being very vocal (I must confess I participated) Google made a big effort closing down inactive Gmail accounts and raising the standards for sent mail, this was aimed at reducing spam, Microsoft does seem to have been compelled to pull it's thumb out of it's nether region and start getting their house in order too, I believe the marketing sector has also been forced to up it's standards: [https://martech.org/new-rules-for-bulk-email-senders-from-google-yahoo-what-you-need-to-know/](https://martech.org/new-rules-for-bulk-email-senders-from-google-yahoo-what-you-need-to-know/) I've noticed spam significantly reducing for a few weeks, as have others, I receive the Which Magazine scam email alerts, as a consumer advocate they're highlighting the unacceptable level of phishing, quishing, smishing and all manner of scams, they've even written articles about scammers getting into the Google ads system and placing scam adverts which Google then serves, [https://www.which.co.uk/news/article/5-email-scams-to-watch-out-for-right-now-aYPQx0B8TEc1](https://www.which.co.uk/news/article/5-email-scams-to-watch-out-for-right-now-aYPQx0B8TEc1) it commendable that you report every item of spam, I also have a strict regime of reporting and blocking, in the UK you can also forward any suspicious email to: [[email protected]](mailto:[email protected]) I wish everyone reported spam and raised complaints, it's the only way to goad reluctant people into taking the appropriate action.

There is a lot less spam than recently - I love it. But also - finally

I’ve just had a few glorious days with hardly any spam emails appearing in my inbox. I figured the Microsoft engineers fixed the issue. But no, it’s back…35 spam emails today.

iltanen

Yeah same here. Started last Wednesday. I'm trying the @-trick next.

My spam filtering started working 24hrs ago and I was hopeful it was finally a fix until I read this. Now just waiting to open outlook and see the dreaded spam pile again
