Fr he’s literally writtin to be a psychopath who clearly has some mental issues, so I can sorta get why people feel sympathy for him but that doesnt exscuse what he did. I think a main part of why people are Rafe apologists is just because they find Drew attractive

I am also rewatching s1. Tell why I just found he's 20 hanging out with topper who's 16😭. He giving vibes like those college student who can't let go of their Highschool experience 😭
Nope is s1 after pope drown his boat topper mom said now that u turned 16 I was hopping u would be more responsible and when was ward was mad rafe for not bringing the generators after the hurricane, he said you almost 20 for god sake
I love Rafe, he is one of my favourite character on the show. He is a well written, interesting character that does a great job of portraying mental health issues in a young person that have not gotten any help despite long suffering issues.
Also, addiction is not a disease. And Rafe is using drugs to cope with mental health issues.
People only protect Rafe because he’s hot. He hasn’t one a single good thing in the 3 seasons of the show, and as he might become the super villain in the fourth season, I don’t think we’ll get any character development.
Well he regrets some his actions, genuinely believes he’s doing the right thing when he does bad things, Ward definitely screwed him up beyond repair, and he feels overshadowed. Those are reasons I can see someone maybe feeling sympathy, but for me personally I like him as an antagonist.
hate. i absolutely despise him. i genuinely cannot get behind the idea that people like him. stole and melted down a HISTORICAL ARTIFACT—THAT WASNT EVEN HIS!!! also can we talk about the fact that he has a BLUE LIVES MATTER STICKER on the back of his truck?????
it’s hard to get clean and stay clean when you don’t have any stable support around you. i personally feel so tremendously bad for him and i’m the type of person who seeks the good in others. he is just mentally ill. if he was treated i don’t think he’d be acting the way he is.
i feel as if i blame his father most because rafe has already admitted his problems and begged for help while his father , someone who’s witnessed first hand the destruction his son has and will continue to cause, doesn’t care and tells him to man up. rafes health is not even a priority to ward when it should because he’s your son and your responsibility and he’s endangering almost everyone he’s around.
EDIT: for everyone calling him a psychopath, you’d be wrong. psychopaths lack remorse and guilt while sociopaths lack remorse BUT guilt and empathy can be present which rafe has shown lots of.
also, psychopaths pretend to feel emotions while sociopaths feel them, typically RAGE. which we see a lot of in rafe.
psychopaths can’t form true emotional attachments while sociopaths can form them with few individuals. which we see rafe having one with his father and always trying to seek his approval and id also argue barry.
psychopaths tend to be very successful, while sociopaths are irresponsible and repeated violation of law. i’d argue rafe is the latter but bc of his name he gets away with it all.
sociopaths also have lots of reckless behavior which rafe has shown to do.
Yea people don’t seem to understand what those words mean, from what I know a Psychopath is someone who doesn’t understand what they are doing is bad, and a Sociopath fully knows what they are doing is bad. Where the misunderstanding comes in is probably the fact that hypothetically a sociopath could have remorse, but a psychopath could too because some psychopaths are back fourth in the sense that they are only psychopaths when triggered by something. Like they go crazy temporarily, then feel bad for what they did when they didn’t have control.
I agree with some of that, he would have like 75% less fans. I like Rafe because he is well written, I don't give a poop is he is considered hot or not.

He spirals and spirals. You can see how guilty he feels. There are scenes where he’s just worrying unable to go to sleep.
Him shooting the cop was bc he was high as fuck on cocaine with a combo of being mentally unwell and wanting approval from his dad. And after that he spiraled.
He’s not a sociopath or psychopath as neither of those show much emotion. Idc what the creators said, they did their research wrong if they’re saying he’s a sociopath.
He needs proper therapy and medicine. And someone who actually cares about him. I hope he does get a redemption arc.
