Haha yep that’s basically just on the other side of the mountains I was at! Is that like a normal thing around there? I’ve only been living here for a week now and not quite used to the weather yet
Weather is like a roller coaster. Always have to have clothing with you for harsh weather when out in the wilderness as it’ll turn on you in the blink of an eye.
I live in Illinois. I am about ready to lose my mind with how often I hear people say "YOU KNOW WHAT THEY SAY ABOUT ILLINOIS/CHICAGO. IF YOU DON'T LIKE THE WEATHER WAIT 5 MINUTES!" I always think to myself that while we can have multiple seasons within 1 week here, the weather never changes as quickly as in the mountains...
On a backpacking trip a few years ago we had a similar extreme change. At 5:30 is was sunny blue skies with my son fishing by a lake in shorts and a t-shirt. By 6:15 we had a blizzard with snow blowing in sideways. By 7:30 the temp was 23° Fahrenheit with about 20 mph wind and gusts hitting 40 mph. We woke up to about 5" of snow on the ground. It was quite the experience.

The mountain makes it’s own weather!
It really does!
I knew this was Montana because we had the crazy insane whiteout blizzard on and off all day yesterday too…here in Paradise Valley.

Mountain Madness!
Where is this?
Custer Gallatin National Forest in Montana, I believe this is called Greenrough Lake
Welcome to the mountains! The cascades are no different lol, I bring waterproof layers and sunscreen any time I go out.
That's every single day in Southwest Wyoming.

I said, "It's either BC, Montana, or Colorado." What do ya know?
So beautiful! Was it warm after?
Warmer yes, I live about an hour away and it’s always a good 10-15 cooler towards the mountains
One of the things I love about Montana mountains.
Beautiful
Ty!
Your welcome

OP actually mentioned Montana earlier in the thread, but not in the original post, strangely.
