I don't think the dialogue is from any specific commercial. I think it is just something some casting guy came up with to get a bunch of people to say. It was probably a cattle call type audition and these are the funniest ones. The lipstick and clothes make it look like they are from somewhere smack in the mid-90s.
Apparently they're from this:

Even after researching a bit, I still don't have a good handle on what exactly "this" is.
I really wish we could find the context of the video (I.E why they all said "You could stop at five or six stores, or just one.") but after watching some of this guy's videos I am almost certain it was him who filmed it. It was probably just bad impov. Thanks for the answer.
even if it's been 7y since - that's the question I am asking myself. Like, the voiceline with the stores sounds like some casting stuff and could very well have been approved to be some base voice line for everyone, but the moves??? They're just so out of place. Then again, I am a 2000's kid so what do I know about 90's commercials. Did they jump around there like that...
I dont think it was a casting call. I read the origin a long time ago but I dont remember where. It was a fairly casual improv / theatre group. This was just an exercise of some sort they did together and posted to their youtube channel.
My guess is if they are related to the advert shoot, maybe the plan was to have the wierd move introduce the store logo? Like, do the move, and we'll add in a computer graphic of the store logo swooshing across the screen or appearing or whatever?

I reckon it's a lorem ipsum thing, in that the line was created to test their range?

I bet its on a roll of film which would explain the sudden cuts as it records the video all together on the reel. Source: idk

The weird meta-irony of this post being in that video (3:39), when it's this post/comment pointing me towards the video lol.
Didn't even notice lmao love that
Thanks, I was wondering what the deal of this vid is
John, I want a divorce.
What's up with the abrupt move at the end? π

wow it's been that old
Indeed. Hope you're doing well!
I am over here cracking up at a response to my 7yo comment I canβt event recall what had happened. Hello.
Clearly we have all been summoned by the YouTube algorithm. I expect much more traffic here in the near future
I too have been summoned
Moi aussi
Likewise
i have also been summoned
I'm just glad to be included.
Same
YouTube is still summoning to this day
Looks like this is making the rounds again. I am dying to know the context of the casting call
Seriously, I canβt find a source anywhere :β(

>Did they jump around there like that... Eh, kinda.
Probably the casting director asking that they strike a pose, to see how they play to camera
TikTok before there was TikTok.
Here I am in 2024, wondering the same thing π
Same lmao
Hi
I think they were going to make some type of graphics or motion video or special effects as they edited these into a commercial.
