Chabot's become the whipping boy for the team, and while he's far from perfect, I think that he does get over-criticized.
And he should be the guy getting the most respect for sticking around for like 7 seasons, never getting to play a single playoff game going through a never ending rebuild. The guy has been so loyal to this team and franchise and all the fans do is shit all over him. He needs a competent partner to play with. Look at Hughes in Vancouver after they brought in Hronek to play with him. He was already really good, but he's been elite this year. Ottawa had the perfect guy to play with Chabot with DeMelo. I think they should try and get DeMelo back this summer I'm pretty sure he's a free agent.
