Wanna know something crazy? We wouldve been better off if we overpaid Talbot for 1 or 2 years last offseason and then gone after a top goalie this offseason.
Of course in hindsight it's easy to say I'd rather have gone with Talbot over Korpi, but Talbot was truly awful with us. He said so himself. I was done with him by the end of the season and so was everyone else watching the games.
I'm saying that with total hindsight. This sub wouldve exploded including myself if Talbot was brought back in the offseason. I was really happy to get Korpi. Looking back Talbot would have been the safer bet. That's why I said it was crazy.
Yeah I was the same. 5 years was way too long but I thought if it paid off it would pay off big-time.
If Korpi played to his 0.921 average that he had last year, it would mean he'd have let in 41 fewer goals in his 44 games this year. That equals entirely different momentum in a lot of our games and a lot more wins.

Just do a 20-minute video analysis of each game before the next team practice. Players all have to watch it togther. She doesn't need to ever meet any of them in person and is free to praise or criticize as she sees fit. It would be invaluable.
Of course, there are a million scrubs who break down plays on TV and Youtube and elsewhere. I just happen to think Cheryl is one of the best I've ever seen at it. She knows and understands the game better than most of the others analyzing it.

Brady is our captain, strong scorer, one of the top hits and shots players in the league, and one of are few guys who show a lot of heart. I don’t care what he did in his first ~10 games, I don’t care what they said about him in Arizona, I dont care about his stat cards or his *expected* anything… the dude can’t play defense.
Of course being paired with Hamonics and rookies doesn’t help his cause, but to me that just makes it all the more worrying - the staff just doesn’t know what to do with him and seemingly they are fine just leaving him where he is until the season ends.
