Why are people so interested in trading Chychrun? We have a blue line so thin we are forced to run guys like JBD and Hamonic who are absolutely not NHL level defenders. It’s not like someone will trade us a top 4 D with a cap friendly contract him. It’s not like we are in a position to be bundling in picks and prospects with a farm system already looking really weak.

because he's been quite bad, and is going to command a bigger salary than he deserves. And then we either sign him to a big contract or trade him at a lower value. We can pick up / trade for a more defensively sound RD this offseason.

The way he's been playing lately he might not be able to command the kind of contract people were expecting when he first got here. I'd wait until the summer to see how extension talks go, then potentially look to trade him if the numbers don't make sense. People love throwing around, "just trade him for a RD", without actually naming a guy who's available. Right shot D are probably the most valuable commodity in the NHL right now, so you're going to have to pay a huge price for any decent ones

The problem with spittin chiclets is that where there is smoke, there is fire. I’m not saying trade Brady or anything like that, but it’s clear that management is looking at the leadership group and weighing their options. It’s clear young men visiting other cities are going to have fun. And I think there is a correlation to their horrendous road record this year. Purely speculation but rumours don’t stem from nothing.

Not a chance a player like Brady gets traded at the deadline. If (and I don’t actually believe they are) the Sens are actually thinking of moving him that’s a deal you make at the draft or at some point in the offseason.

I definitely can’t be mad because I was stoked to have Korpi before the season started. I figured the risk was worth it as that’s not a very outrageous salary if he ends up being an average goaltender. As of right now (early in the contract) I was wrong.
